The God of Death vanished, leaving me alone in the vast chamber. I stood there for a moment, trying to process everything that had just happened.
I had been chosen to be the new God of Death. I had the power to kill with a touch. I had to go to the City of the Dead and judge souls.
I took a deep breath and started walking. The chamber led to a long corridor, which in turn led to a massive stone door. I pushed it open, and a warm light spilled in.
I stepped out into a world unlike anything I had ever seen. The sky was a deep purple, and the ground was covered in a thick, velvety moss. Strange trees with glowing leaves towered above me.
A path wound its way through the landscape, leading to a city in the distance. I started walking, my heart pounding with excitement and nerves.
As I walked, I noticed that the landscape was changing. The trees were becoming twisted and gnarled, the moss was turning gray, and the sky was growing darker.
I was getting close to the City of the Dead.
