Chapter 2 - The End Of The Begining

Before we continue, I have to state out that what is written here is all true. It might not have happened to you, but it did happen to someone. That someone just happened to go by the name of Jessy Lin.

Anyone can already see the problem here. Jessy happens to be a girl's name, while the guy having that name happens to be a guy. By the way, the kid was not bullied or anything.

His school days were normal, as you will see in a short while. So, let's dive into the life of a normal school kid who happens to be called Jessy Lin.

A few glances on the bus was fine. He could handle that much. Murmurs rose from the rest of the passengers and died out immediaywhen he glanced in that direction. No one seemed to be comfortable with him. All the seats next to him remained vacant. Whenever a passenger came in and found that the empty seat was next to him, they simply clung onto the railing on the bus and decided to tough it out. No one wanted to associate with this kid. He was famous in his own way.

Well, he had grown used to it. But it's not everyday an orphan was given this much attention, much less by the general public. It didn't help considering that he lived alone in a two bedroom house that his parents had left.

So the journey to school began as the wheels started rolling, slowly building up momentum and breaking contact with the dormant asphalt.

Just then, a new customer flagged down the bus in a hurry, almost jumped in and scanned the whole bus before realizing that the only vacant seats were next to Jessy.

Lively and energetic, she raced over to Jessy, careful not to stain her uniform with the plethora of lattes and coffees that were in the hands of the onlookers. She immediately sat and looked at Jessy, as if she was seeing a human being for the first time.

"Wow. This guy is awesome. No wonder everyone left him the seat. He's just too good." Well, she didn't say that part out loud.

"Hello there am Jessica Young, but you can call me Jessy."

She stared at Jessy for a few seconds, expecting a response. When none came, she continued with her assault.

"We go to the same high school. Mineragawa right? It's my first day after transfer. I hope you can help me look around when we get there."

Jessy felt a little sorry for this kid. So, it was her first day in hell. Tough luck. [Not that am against school or anything, but this high school is easily the worst]

He just looked at her cute face and gave a slight nod, careful not to alert the other passengers. The girl though that he was doing this to build up aura.

The bus pulled up at the school gate a few minutes later, and some of the passengers being teachers and students alighted. Jessica stepped out, looking at the massive school gate jus a few steps away from the bus.

Jessy remembered what had happened to him the first time he had done that. He quickly went over to Jessica and pulled her away from the sidewalk as the bus let out a dark cloud of smoke, as if it was aiming for her. The girl, now feeling as if she was indebted to him, thanked him profusely.

He gave it no though. When they walked into the school, the girl asked Jessy for directions to class 3A.

That was her class. And that was also Jessy's class. He wasn't big on conversation, so the girl's s mall talk simply flew over his head.

"Wow. Today's weather is awesome. Have you met any of the teachers here? What's the menu? Are we allowed to have lacked lunch?"

Seeing as none of her questions were answered, she quietly followed behind. In the hallway, by the stairs, at the lockers.

"Isn't that Jessy?" The girl thought that she was already famous as the murmurs and loud whispers flew across the room wherever they walked. "What's he doing with her. I though he couldn't even make it to school. He must be a psycho to come back."

In a few hallway, she was able to grasp the situation. So that's why he didn't tell her his name he's just embarrassed because it's a girl's name. In a way, it was cute. This girl was getting too emotionally involved with our MC.

The walked over to class 3A. Jessy stepped inside first. The girl expected Jessy to come out after showing her inside but he went straight to the last column, two rows from the back and sat by the window. This was his designated seat.

Everyone xkxnew that and frankly, they did not want to sit with him, so the next seat in that row was vacant.

Jessica felt sorry for him and decided to sit next to him.

"Jessy, is it okay for me to sit here with you. I like the view." The girl blurted out, almost like an order and less like a request.

"You can sit wherever you like. It's really up to you. But please don't pester me during class hours. I've realized that you talk too much so try to keep the chatter to a minimum." Jessy was not afaid to bite back. He wanted some silence and in the face of his new classmate, it didn't seem too eager to visit him anytime soon.

"Alright class," the teacher abruptly came in , holding a bunch of textbook by his chest. This was Mr. Brent. Known for his unique strictness that scared even other members of the faculty. He was a perfectionist per se, and none of the normal students had yet managed to catch his eye in math class. So maybe, the number would rise to two today.

"Am told that we have a new member. Can you please introduce yourself before we begin?"

Everyone looked at Jessica. She had quickly become the center of attention in the room. She walked over to the front, feigning confidence, trying to appear as brave as she would, but her voice cracked and she managed to at least say her name before it gave in. "Jessica Young"

'Well, well. If thing turned out for the better, she might just be an outstanding student. I wonder what Jessy would think of her when he heard her name?' Brent though to himself.

She then silently walked back and occupied the seat next to Jessy. The whole class was dazed, but not a much as Mr. Brent.

A deafening silence occupied the room for the next ten seconds. No one dared to talk in fear.

'Is this Jessy really that famous. Did he kill someone or something?' Jessica thought to herself. She could not understand what was going on.

The bell broke the silence and the class began, still in a state of shock. How could someone so pretty choose to waste her life next to someone so Jessy-like. Is she under a spell?

"Okay. For today we will be introducing a new topic called integration. Before we begin, does anyone have an idea what integration is?"

The class fell silent. No one had the slightest clue as to what was going on. Not even Clare, who had appointed herself the class genius after scoring 90 out of 100 in a random assessment test. She was the highest score by twenty points. Also, Jessy was absent that day.

Brent took out a textbook and wrote an ugly sum on the board. It had a lot of curves and dots where it shouldn't have.

"Am talking about this. Anyone, Clare, James?"

Just then, a hand shot up into the sky. Everyone stared over at Jessy. "Well why don't you come over then?"

The kid was obviously courting embarrassment. Taking a question that not even Clare was willing to give a second glance. Was he stupid or what. These murmurs filled the room.

They immediately stopped when Jessy took the marker and scribbled a few things here and there, the underlined the last bit of info he had written.

"I've never seen anything like this. Where did you come up with this. I must know!" Everyone was shocked to find that it was Mr Brent who was talking. Jessy pointed at the empty board then said.

"She showed me. I learnt this from her."
