Chapter 86 - Chapter 86 – The Weight of Power

The battlefield trembled under the pressure of two overwhelming forces.

Dust spiraled through the air like restless ghosts.

Cracked earth stretched endlessly beneath them, marked by the scars of their battle.

In the center of that broken land stood two figures.

Asher.

And Lord.

The air between them vibrated with raw power.

Asher's crimson hair flowed like living fire. His eyes burned with a fierce intensity that refused to fade.

Across from him, Lord stood calmly.

Unmoved.

Unshaken.

Even as the battlefield collapsed around them, his posture remained steady.

Asher's voice broke the silence.

"You think none of this matters."

Lord looked at him quietly.

"Those people… their lives… their sacrifices."

Asher's fists clenched.

"You talk like they were nothing."

The wind howled across the battlefield.

Lord finally spoke.

His voice carried no anger.

No excitement.

Only quiet certainty.

"Emotion clouds judgment."

He slowly stepped forward.

"Pain makes people weak."

The ground cracked beneath his foot.

"You call it cruelty."

His gaze sharpened slightly.

"I call it clarity."

Asher's eyes narrowed.

"Clarity?"

Energy sparked violently around his body.

"You slaughtered thousands."

Lord did not flinch.

"They died because they were fragile."

His voice remained calm.

"The world does not bend for fragile things."

The wind grew stronger.

Lord raised his hand slowly.

"If a storm destroys a forest…"

Small blades of energy began forming around him.

"…do you blame the storm?"

Hundreds of shimmering blades appeared in the air.

They floated silently around Lord like cold stars.

Or do you blame the trees for being too weak to stand?"

Asher's voice rose sharply.

"They weren't weak!"

BOOM!

The ground exploded as Asher launched forward.

Lord moved at the same moment.

The two collided like crashing meteors.

BAM!

Their fists slammed into each other.

A violent shockwave tore across the battlefield.

The ground beneath them collapsed.

Both fighters slid backward before immediately charging again.

BAM! BAM! BAM!

Their attacks became a storm of motion.

Asher moved like a streak of red lightning.

Lord moved like a shadow that could not be grasped.

Punch.

Block.

Kick.

Counter.

The battlefield continued to crumble beneath their clash.

Asher spun mid-air and unleashed a devastating kick.

Lord caught it with one hand.

The force shattered the ground beneath his feet.

Lord looked at him calmly.

"You fight with anger."

He twisted his body and threw Asher across the battlefield.

Asher crashed through broken stone before flipping back onto his feet.

Lord continued speaking.

"Anger burns brightly."

His eyes remained cold.

"But it burns quickly."

Suddenly—

The energy blades around Lord shot forward.

Hundreds of them tore through the air.

Asher's eyes widened.

He raised his hand.

"Compression Field!"

The air around him instantly became heavy.

Invisible pressure crushed the incoming blades.

Many shattered before reaching him.

But others broke through.

Asher dashed forward, weaving between them with incredible speed.

One blade sliced across his shoulder.

Blood splashed into the air.

But Asher didn't stop.

He appeared in front of Lord in the next instant.

"Push the Limit!"

His fist ignited with explosive power.

BOOOOM!

The punch landed.

Lord was blasted backward across the battlefield.

The impact carved a massive trench through the ground.

Dust exploded upward.

For a moment, the battlefield fell silent again.

Then Lord stepped out of the smoke.

Unharmed.

His expression remained composed.

"You see?"

He spoke quietly.

"You are proving my point."

Asher glared at him.

"You bleed."

Lord looked at the small tear in his sleeve.

"But I remain calm."

He raised his gaze again.

"You burn with emotion."

His voice softened slightly.

"And yet you struggle."

Asher's breathing grew heavier.

Energy surged violently around him.

"I'm not fighting for calm."

His voice trembled with power.

"I'm fighting for them!"

Asher slammed his foot into the ground.

The battlefield shook violently.

Suddenly—

The pressure around him intensified.

The air itself seemed to collapse inward.

Lord's eyes narrowed slightly.

"Interesting."

The compression field around Asher expanded.

The gravity of the battlefield increased dramatically.

Rocks lifted into the air before being crushed into dust.

Lord felt the weight pressing against his body.

Yet his expression did not change.

"Power without control destroys itself."

Asher raised his hand slowly.

The compressed air gathered into a single point.

A swirling sphere of pressure formed in his palm.

The air screamed as it condensed.

Asher whispered.

"Collapse."

He thrust his hand forward.

The compressed sphere exploded toward Lord.

The ground shattered as the attack tore forward.

BOOOOOOOOM!

A massive explosion engulfed the battlefield.

Dust rose like a volcanic eruption.

The shockwave flattened everything nearby.

For several seconds…

Nothing could be seen.

Then slowly…

A figure stepped through the dust.

Lord.

A faint crack had appeared on the armor covering his arm.

But his expression remained calm.

Almost peaceful.

"Asher."

He spoke gently.

"You misunderstand something."

He raised his hand slowly.

Dark energy began forming around his fingers.

"Strength is not rage."

The energy gathered into a sharp blade of black light.

"Strength is acceptance."

Lord vanished.

In the next instant—

He appeared behind Asher.

SLASH!

The blade cut across Asher's back.

Asher stumbled forward.

Blood spilled across the shattered ground.

Lord stood quietly behind him.

"If you cannot accept suffering…"

His voice was calm as ever.

"You will never overcome it."

Asher gritted his teeth.

His body trembled.

But then…

He slowly stood straight again.

Blood dripped from his wounds.

His eyes still burned.

"You're wrong."

Lord tilted his head slightly.

Asher turned toward him.

"My anger…"

The flames around him grew stronger.

"My pain…"

The ground beneath him cracked again.

"My grief…"

His voice became steady.

"They're not weaknesses."

Asher clenched his fist.

"They're the reason I stand up again."

Energy erupted violently around him.

The crimson aura exploded outward like a blazing storm.

The sky above darkened.

Lord finally narrowed his eyes.

For the first time since the battle began…

He felt it.

A shift.

Asher looked directly at him.

And spoke one final sentence.

"You fight like the world has already ended."

The wind roared between them.

Asher's voice cut through the battlefield.

"But I'm fighting to save what's left of it."

The ground beneath them shattered once more.

Both warriors stepped forward at the same moment.

Their powers surged.

Their eyes locked.

And the battle between them…

Reached an even more terrifying stage.
