Chapter 31 - Chapter 31 - A Few Years Ago, You

Years Ago…

The WHU Headquarters.

An organization that had existed for over five hundred years.

It was the place that forged the strongest heroes in history.

And for generations, its leadership belonged to one bloodline—

Sebastian's family.

They were a symbol of strength, discipline, and justice.

Every generation produced someone powerful.

But one day…

The strongest child in their entire history was born.

His name was Miasma.

Even as a child, he was different.

While others trained, he dominated.

At fourteen, he defeated grown heroes with ease.

His power seemed limitless.

The family was proud.

WHU was hopeful.

"This child will shape the future," they said.

And he did.

Just not the way they imagined.

Miasma grew stronger.

Colder.

Then one day—

He faced someone who would change everything.

Ernos.

That battle became his first defeat.

Not just a loss—

A complete, humiliating collapse.

For the first time in his life…

He was powerless.

The idea of absolute strength shattered inside him.

He fell to his knees.

And in that moment—

A presence approached him.

Lord.

"You were not defeated," the voice whispered.

"You were incomplete."

Lord saved him.

Gave him new power.

But power always has a price.

And Miasma paid with his soul.

He returned.

But he was no longer the prodigy child of WHU.

The light in his eyes was gone.

Only emptiness remained.

And his first decision—

Was to attack WHU.

His home.

His blood.

His legacy.

It happened at night.

No warnings.

No mercy.

Five hundred years of history drowned in darkness.

Heroes fell one by one.

Family members slaughtered.

The headquarters burned.

At the end—

Only one child remained alive.

Miasma's grandson.

A small boy.

Miasma looked at him.

For a brief second—

His eyes trembled.

But he did not kill him.

He turned his back.

And walked away.

Years passed.

That child grew up.

He became Sebastian's father.

He carried the broken legacy of his family.

He trained.

He rose.

He vowed to end the nightmare.

And one day—

He stood before Miasma.

Their battle shook the skies.

Mountains cracked.

The earth tore open.

But the outcome did not change.

Miasma won.

Sebastian's father fell to his knees.

Blood poured from his wounds.

His breathing faded.

Miasma stood above him.

Cold.

Detached.

With his final breath, Sebastian's father whispered:

"Miasma…"

"No matter how deep you fall into darkness…"

"Do not touch my son… Sebastian."

Silence.

The wind moved through the ruins.

Miasma closed his eyes.

He said nothing.

He turned his back.

And left.

Sebastian lived.

So did the curse.
