Chapter 144 - Chapter 144: See You Tomorrow

Chapter 144: See You Tomorrow

After leaving the hospital wing, which reeked of disinfectant, Tamara Riddle was in no hurry to return to the dungeons.

Outside the window, the sky that had been clear only moments ago was now overcast and raining.

She walked alone through the dim corridor. Only the occasional flash of lightning from outside illuminated her grim face, which looked as if it could drip water.

At this moment, her mood was even worse than the storm outside.

It was not only because Hermione Granger had been attacked, but even more because of the nauseatingly passionate little drama those two Gryffindor idiots had performed in front of her in the ward just now.

Utterly foolish.

The saviour actually wanted to cooperate with her?

"Overestimating himself."

Tamara snorted, her fingers habitually caressing the wand hidden in her sleeve.

She had originally thought that the remnant soul, without its diary, would not be able to cause much trouble.

But now, that remnant soul clearly did not know its place. It had gone completely out of control.

It had not only inherited Lord Voldemort's most extreme desire for revenge, but time and again, it had directed that insane hostility toward her, its original body.

First, it provoked her.

Now, it had openly attacked the tool she valued.

This was no longer simply clinging to life for survival.

This was usurpation.

This was a slave rebelling against its master, a shadow attempting to murder its true self.

"It seems I was too lenient before."

Tamara thought coldly, her footsteps echoing through the empty corridor, each step like treading on an enemy's bones.

She had originally intended to use this remnant soul to turn Hogwarts upside down, allowing her to reap the benefits.

But since this disobedient dog had started trying to bite its master, there was no need to keep it.

"I'll deal with it tonight."

Tamara made up her mind, a violent red light flashing in her eyes.

She would find Ginny Weasley, extract the Horcrux, and let that brainless remnant soul learn its place.

Just as she was mentally rehearsing how to corner the red haired girl and subject her to the Cruciatus Curse, light, quick footsteps came from around the corner of the corridor.

Tamara stopped, narrowing her eyes.

At a time when the entire school was on high alert, when everyone should have been huddled in their common rooms like frightened quails, someone was still wandering outside?

The next second, a small figure emerged from the shadows.

Her red hair seemed a little dazzling in the dim candlelight, and there was a strange, brilliant smile on her face.

It was Ginny Weasley.

Tamara was stunned for a moment. Then a cruel arc formed at the corner of her mouth.

She had just been wondering where to catch this little mouse.

Unexpectedly, the other party had delivered herself to her.

How convenient.

"Weasley."

Tamara's voice was as cold as shards of ice. She did not even bother to maintain her usual facade as an excellent student.

"It seems you don't take Professor McGonagall's detention order seriously."

As she spoke, she slowly drew her wand, the tip subtly pointing at Ginny's chest.

With just one silent Stupefy, she could immediately end this farce.

However, facing the Dark Lord's wand, Ginny showed no fear. Instead, the smile on her face grew even brighter.

In those eyes, which had originally been warm brown, a fervent glow now flickered, causing Tamara a deep, physical discomfort.

"Senior Tamara!"

Ginny rushed forward like a cheerful little bird, completely ignoring the wand pointed at her.

"I've been waiting for you! I saw you didn't go back to the common room, so I guessed you must have gone to the hospital wing."

She walked up to Tamara, her fawning manner like a puppy that had just brought back prey and was waiting for praise.

"How is it? That... Granger. Can she still speak?"

Ginny lowered her voice, a twisted anticipation in her tone.

"Will she never be able to bother you again?"

Listening to these words, killing intent instantly surged in Tamara's eyes.

It really was this lunatic.

How dare she flaunt her achievement in front of her?

"Seeking death."

Tamara cursed coldly in her heart and fiercely waved her wand.

"Expelli..."

The spell had already formed on her tongue.

She would give this ignorant girl a real lesson and make her understand what fear was.

Zzzzt!

Just as the spell was about to be cast, a familiar current instantly ran through Tamara's entire body.

"Ugh!"

Tamara grunted. Her arm went numb with a violent tremor, and her wand almost slipped from her grasp.

[Warning! Warning!]

That damned system voice exploded frantically in her mind, carrying an annoying cheerfulness and sense of righteousness.

[Detected that the host's killing intent toward a close friend is too high! Action determined: severe violation!]

[Based on the host's previous behavioural logic, you have always held the educational philosophy of strict love and disappointment born from high expectations toward Miss Ginny Weasley.]

[Current scene analysis: Miss Ginny Weasley is expressing her most sincere concern and attachment to you, showing no aggression.]

[System Judgment: This is a clumsy but extremely sincere expression of friendship! The host's current aggressive behaviour is an overreaction caused by embarrassment and has been forcibly intercepted by the virtue system!]

Tamara's pupils suddenly contracted to pinpoints, and her usually arrogant and indifferent face cracked under this absurd judgment.

Close friend?

Sincere concern?

Absurd.

This idiotic system actually called this perverted display concern?

Then the two Avada Kedavra curses she had sent to the Potter family back then should also have been called the supreme education of allowing the saviour to develop independent survival skills from a young age.

When she slaughtered the families of all her opponents and sent them neatly to meet Merlin, should she have been awarded an Order of Merlin, First Class, for charitable deeds, for helping families reunite forever?

"She was flaunting her achievement."

Tamara questioned the system coldly in her sea of consciousness, her voice suppressing a brewing rage, logical and unyielding.

"That Gryffindor just admitted that she attacked Granger. Although it was only petrification, it constitutes serious Dark Arts harm."

"And I, as a model student dedicated to maintaining peace at Hogwarts, am trying to stop a dangerous Dark Wizard. Is this not righteous retribution?"

[System logic rejected.]

The electronic voice remained steady and cheerful, carrying a suffocatingly understanding tone that Tamara found infuriating.

[Miss Ginny Weasley did not admit to the attack. Based on voice analysis, she was merely inquiring about a classmate's health.]

[Given the host's previous teaching methods, her current dependence on you is genuine. Please do not overinterpret. You should use tolerance and love to influence her and guide her onto the right path.]

"Influence...?"

Tamara laughed in extreme anger, though her lips only twitched stiffly due to the numbness caused by the current.

For the great Dark Lord to influence a lunatic controlled by a Horcrux?

This was the greatest insult to her.

Tamara cursed with murderous intent in her heart, just as she mobilised all her magic to forcefully break through the system's blockade.

But Ginny had already walked up to her.

"Senior, you look so pale."

Ginny looked at the pale and trembling Tamara, her eyes overflowing with concern.

"You must be too tired, right? Or are you upset about... Granger's situation?"

She reached out and grabbed Tamara's wrist.

"Come on. I'll take you back to the dormitory."

Tamara instinctively tried to shake her off.

"Get off me! Don't touch..."

However, the next second, Tamara discovered in horror that she could not shake her off.

This seemingly thin and small daughter of the Weasley family had astonishingly strong hands.

Her hand was like an iron clamp, firmly gripping Tamara's wrist.

Although Tamara possessed a powerful soul and formidable magic, her current body was, after all, only that of a twelve year old girl who had been malnourished for a long time and disliked exercise.

Moreover, she was now completely drained of strength by the system's electric shock.

And Ginny Weasley?

She was a Gryffindor who had grown up in a wild environment like The Burrow, running around hills and fields with six brothers every day, even secretly riding broomsticks.

And Tamara had overlooked the most important point.

How could an ordinary little girl strangle a living chicken to death?

Coupled with the power of the remnant soul within her, Ginny's strength was comparable to that of a young Troll.

"No need to be polite, Senior."

Ginny completely ignored Tamara's struggles, unceremoniously taking her arm and half dragging, half pulling her toward the Slytherin dungeons.

"Let go! Weasley! I command you..."

Tamara tried to grab her wand with her other hand, but the aftereffects of the system's electric shock were still present, and her fingers were too numb to exert any force.

And so, an extremely bizarre scene appeared in the corridors of Hogwarts.

Tamara Riddle, who was usually high and mighty and struck fear into countless students, was now being forcibly dragged along by a Gryffindor girl half a head shorter than her.

"Damn it... once I recover... I'll kill you..."

Tamara gritted her teeth, her heels scraping against the stone floor as she tried to add even a little resistance.

But it was useless.

Ginny even walked more cheerfully.

"Senior, you're too light. You should eat more often."

Ginny chattered as she walked, her tone filled with an eerie sweetness.

"I'll take care of you from now on. Those people who bother you... I'll deal with them where you can't see."

"You just need to watch me."

Listening to this mad talk, Tamara felt her stomach churn.

The humiliation of being suppressed by her prey, of being bitten back by her own lies, made Tamara want to cast dozens of Cruciatus Curses on this ignorant girl.

She, the mighty Lord Voldemort.

When had she ever suffered such indignity?

But resistance was futile.

Finally, the stone door of the Slytherin Common Room appeared before them.

"Here we are."

Ginny reluctantly let go.

Tamara stumbled, almost losing her balance, and leaned against the wall to barely preserve her last shred of dignity.

She straightened her wrinkled robes, looked up, and glared at Ginny with a sinister gaze, just about to say something.

But Ginny spoke first.

She stood in the shadows, a brilliant, innocent, yet insane smile slowly blooming on her slightly pale face.

"Get some good rest, Senior Tamara."

She reached out and, incredibly, dared to tidy the stray hairs at Tamara's temples.

Her cool fingertips brushed Tamara's cheek, like the flicking tongue of a venomous snake.

"Have sweet dreams tonight."

Ginny leaned closer, her brown eyes reflecting Tamara's image, and whispered softly,

"We'll... see each other tomorrow."
