Fortunately, his luck was not that bad. He reached the city within three hours.
For the rest of the journey, he remained extremely cautious. He did not rush forward blindly. Every few minutes, he would slow down, observe his surroundings, and confirm that no one was waiting to ambush him. Only after making sure the area was safe would he move again. Because of this, his speed dropped significantly, and that was why it took him so long to finally reach the city.
As soon as he arrived near the city, he saw massive walls surrounding it. The walls were extremely tall and thick, looking more like a military fortress than a normal settlement. On top of those walls, many advanced weapons were installed. Some looked like heavy cannons, while others were automated turrets that slowly rotated as if scanning the surroundings. Just from the defenses alone, it was clear that this place was far more important than Leon town.
Victor knew the direction of the city because he had once come here with his father. At that time, they were only responsible for delivering goods, and ordinary people like them were not allowed to enter. They had simply handed over the cargo at the outer checkpoint and left immediately. Even then, the sight of the city had left a deep impression on him, and now he had finally arrived here again, but this time alone.
Victor also noticed many flying jets coming and leaving the city. Some descended from the sky and landed inside the walls, while others took off and disappeared into the clouds. Their speed was extremely fast, and the sound of their engines echoed across the area. At the same time, armored vehicles lined up at the main gate. Each one stopped before entering, and the guards carefully checked their passes before allowing them inside. The entire process was strict and orderly, leaving no room for mistakes.
He immediately understood that entering the city would not be easy.
Still, he walked toward the gate anyway.
"Hold on, kid. Do you have a pass?" one guard asked as he stepped forward and blocked Victor's path.
"I want to meet the guardian," Victor directly stated his purpose.
The two guards looked at each other for a moment. Then one of them burst out laughing.
"Ptff! Hahaha. Brat, get lost from here before I become angry. Don't waste our time. And where are your team members? What is a normal human like you doing here alone? Are you involved in some kind of shady business?" the guard fired one question after another without giving Victor a chance to respond.
Victor, however, did not reply.
Instead, he slowly took a certain stance. His posture straightened, his feet adjusted slightly, and his breathing changed. He wanted to show then his perfected martial art but it only backfired. As soon as the guards saw that position, their expressions became alert.
"Kid, what are you doing? Freeze right there or we will attack," one of them warned while gripping his weapon.
Victor looked at them calmly. Both of them were level two gene warriors. He knew that fighting them head on was not an option. If he made any sudden movement, they might attack instantly. He could only rely on another method.
"I am Victor Walker. I want to meet the guardian. I have comprehended the martial art to Perfection," he shouted with all his might.
Because his physique had been enhanced, his vocal cords were also stronger. His voice carried far beyond the gate, echoing across the entrance and even reaching inside the city walls.
Many people nearby heard what he just said.
The guards were stunned for a moment before their expressions turned ugly.
"What did you say? Do you think we are idiots? A punk like you can master a technique to Perfection level? Don't make us laugh," the guard retorted. They believed Victor was trying to attract attention by creating a scene.
"That's it. I am not going to tolerate you anymore. Mark, go search him," one guard ordered.
The other guard nodded and walked toward Victor. Victor did not resist. Resisting would only cause more problems, and he did not have anything suspicious on him anyway.
The guard searched him thoroughly and eventually found his martial hall ID card.
They checked it carefully and confirmed that his name was indeed Victor and that he was from Leon town.
"Kid, how did you come here from the town? Where is your transport or your guards?" the guard asked again.
"I came here by running myself," Victor replied calmly.
The guard almost lost his patience.
He raised his hand as if he was about to punch Victor, but he stopped midway.
"I am going to ask you again. How did you come here? If you reply like a maniac again, I will arrest you right away."
Victor felt frustrated. He understood their reaction, but explaining everything was difficult. They could easily contact the martial hall, and if the hall master said he had run away after seriously injuring a top prodigy, they would immediately treat him as a criminal without listening to his side.
Just as the situation was becoming tense, a cold voice suddenly sounded from above.
"Step away from him."
Everyone instinctively looked up.
A middle aged man wearing a snow white robe was standing in the air as if he was standing on solid ground. His hands were behind his back, and his expression was calm, but the pressure he emitted made the surroundings feel heavy.
"Greetings, Your Highness," the guards instantly knelt down.
Victor looked at the man with curiosity. Then the interface appeared.
[Name: Arthur Snow
Rank: 4th Transformation
Physique: 1.2 Billion Tonnes]
Victor swallowed his saliva and immediately bowed.
"It is an honor to be in your presence, sir."
This man was a force of nature. With that level of physique, he could easily destroy a mega city if he wanted. His punches would be like minor nuclear strikes. No wonder he was a city guardian.
"You said you have comprehended your martial art to the Perfection?" the man asked calmly.
"Yes, sir. I have," Victor replied nervously.
"Then why did you come here alone? You did not inform your martial hall about your achievement?" Arthur asked.
"No, sir. I injured a top prodigy of the town after he tried to kill me. He has a strong background. So I left the town immediately without having the chance to tell anyone," Victor answered truthfully.
A hint of intrigue appeared in Arthur's eyes.
"Is that so? So you came here to gain my support by showing that you are a genius?" Arthur asked again.
This time, a faint pressure leaked from his body and fell directly on Victor.
Victor felt as if a mountain had been placed on his shoulders. His knees trembled, and his bones creaked under the weight. His body felt like it was about to collapse at any moment.
"That is correct, sir," he replied while enduring the pressure.
The entire place became silent. No one dared to make a sound. They all believed Victor would be crushed in the next moment.
But suddenly, the pressure disappeared.
Arthur slowly descended and stood in front of Victor.
"Show me your skill," he said calmly.
Victor did not hesitate. He immediately began moving according to the perfect level of the Iron Fist technique. His breathing synchronized with his movements. Each step was steady, each motion precise. His arms moved smoothly, and the flow of his technique looked natural and complete.
Arthur remained silent as he observed Victor's movements carefully.
Boom.
Victor threw his final punch into the air, and the force created a sharp sound. After that, he stopped and returned to a neutral stance.
Every guard present, including the two who had mocked him earlier, became astonished. They could clearly see that the technique had reached perfection. The boy had not lied. They had just behaved rudely toward a once in a hundred thousand genius.
"Now tell me what happened," Arthur said. He did not praise Victor. He simply asked again.
Victor did not hide anything. He explained from the beginning how they plotted against his friend, how they tried to cripple him, and how they eventually attempted to kill him. He explained everything calmly. Of course, he left out the part where he had violently cursed the other party.
After listening, Arthur nodded slightly.
"Good. You did well. Follow me."
He turned and started walking toward the city.
He did not ask a second time whether Victor was telling the truth. He had his own method of judging people.
The guards immediately moved aside and bowed.
Victor followed behind Arthur without saying anything. His heart was still beating fast, but he knew something important had just happened.
