Chapter 122 - 121

Chapter 121

Land of Peace (4)

121

After a full week had passed…

| Wake up, Arthur |

"Damn it… let me sleep a little…"

| Wake up quickly, your companions are in danger |

As those words echoed inside his mind, Arthur's eyes snapped open. His chest rose sharply as he jerked upright, his gaze scanning his surroundings with caution.

He was lying inside a small, narrow cave, faint strands of light seeping in through cracks in the الصخور. The air was cold and damp, and the scent of ancient earth filled his nose.

"Damn… where am I?"

| You've finally awakened |

Arthur's eyes widened at the voice that echoed within his mind.

"Damn it, system…

The update is finished, right? You can talk now, can't you?"

| Yes, I can speak now |

A calm, gentle, steady voice rang inside Arthur's mind. A pure, tranquil voice.

"So… you can talk now? That's great.

This is what I meant by the spirit of the system. Tell me, have you fully regained control?"

| Unfortunately, no. Due to the delayed update, I was only able to restore the storage and the personal window.

The Heavenly Store is still sealed along with your body inside the storage |

Arthur smiled quietly, with gratitude.

"Well… step by step, we'll fix everything.

Did you use the miraculous healing elixir on me while I was asleep?"

| Yes. Your legs were shattered, your spine crushed, and even your skull was broken.

Honestly… who were you fighting in that condition? |

Arthur gave a faint smile.

"Man… you have no idea."

He fell silent for a moment, then asked in a lower tone:

"Right… tell me, is my body okay?"

| Of course. Your body is inside the storage, and no danger can reach it |

"Then… is he okay too?"

| You mean that boy, don't you? |

'Yes… is he okay?'

| Don't worry. Everything is fine. If I had been a little late in regaining awareness, something unfortunate might have happened… but now, he's fine as well |

Arthur let out a deep breath, as though an enormous weight had been lifted from his chest. Then he began recounting everything that had happened since he lost consciousness, hiding nothing from the system.

When he finished, he hesitated briefly before speaking again:

'You know… it's no longer appropriate for me to keep calling you "system."

We've been through a lot together. Without you, I wouldn't have survived the destruction of Cthulhu… nor that damned Yoo Joonghyuk's attack back then.'

Arthur heard a faint, confident chuckle, carrying a hint of pride. The system was pleased by Arthur's praise.

Arthur smiled.

"From now on… your name will be 'Kain.'

What do you think?"

| Kain…

It's a wonderful name. Thank you, mas— |

'Arthur, you bastard, don't call me that.'

| Thank you, Arthur |

Arthur smiled quietly, then stood up and stepped out of the cave with a yawn, his body still feeling the weight of the past week.

"Damn… how can you even move?"

"????"

Arthur turned, only to find Kim Dokja training with a sword, while Han Sooyoung and Asuka Ren watched in silence.

After a moment, Arthur realized the speaker wasn't human… but a small dwarf.

Not just any dwarf.

But Kyrios Rodgrim.

"You damned bastard! You completely destroyed my body, you know that?!"

"You got what you deserved."

"Yeah, yeah… damned bastard."

Arthur sighed and looked at his companions.

He wasn't the type to hate someone without reason. He didn't hate Kyrios just because of the fight.

But that didn't mean he had forgotten… or that he wouldn't take revenge someday.

Han Sooyoung and the others noticed his presence.

"How are you still alive?"

"Damn it, guys… were you hoping I'd die or what?"

He smiled at them, noticing the genuine concern in their eyes.

"So… have you started training, Dokja?"

"Ah… yes."

"Can I join?"

"I only accepted this boy… not you."

Arthur sighed, then sat beside Han Sooyoung and began observing Kim Dokja's training step by step, missing nothing.

'This guy… even without real physical training, he's training his mind.

He's trying to understand the fundamentals… truly strange.'

---

After another week had passed…

At night.

Arthur sat aside, eyes closed, diving deep within himself, silently training his subconscious.

"It's time to go."

"Did you finish your training?"

"Yes… I've finished my theft."

Kim Dokja said it calmly, before lightning gathered around his body, shining with a bright blue light.

Arthur smiled and stood up.

"Let's go back."

---

They returned to the castle…

But it wasn't the small dwarves, nor even their companions, who welcomed them.

What greeted them was destruction.

Collapsed walls, blood everywhere, corpses, monsters, and total ruin.

The four of them dashed forward at full speed.

"Damn it! Where are the others?!"

Arthur shouted as his eyes searched.

He saw everyone… injured, broken, barely alive.

Then he raised his head.

There was a human, in his original size, holding a dwarf and trying to crush him to death, smiling with overwhelming delight and pleasure.

Arthur's blood boiled.

That feeling… the feeling of the day of destruction.

He looked at Kim Dokja.

At that moment, Dokja activated the Way of the Wind, lifting the dwarves off the ground, while Han Sooyoung began creating avatars to save the rest.

Once Arthur confirmed the area was clear…

He activated the bracelet.

He returned to his original size.

He raised his sword and swung it with force—cutting through the air and severing the human's head in an instant.

But… in the moment of death, Arthur felt something familiar.

An aura.

Dark… destructive… approaching.

Something charged forward at unbelievable speed, slamming into Arthur's giant body and sending him crashing toward the castle.

Arthur fell, blood pouring from his mouth and body.

"Damn… you finally showed up, serpent."

He raised his bloodied head.

Before him… was a terrifying creature.

Eight writhing heads, bloody and grotesque, flooding the area with an unbearable dark aura.

Orochi approached the castle, its dark aura crawling along the ground like a silent plague…

But at that moment—

A figure descended from the sky like a meteor, crashing directly into one of Orochi's heads, creating a massive explosion that shook the surroundings.

Kim Dokja's eyes widened as he looked at the newcomer.

It was Yoo Joonghyuk, holding a new sword in his hand, radiating a sharpness unlike before.

"Finally… you've come, you bastard."

Yoo Joonghyuk moved his sword, pointing it directly at Orochi, then dashed forward.

At the same moment, Kim Dokja moved with him without hesitation, as if they were one body.

---

Meanwhile…

Arthur lay on the ground, blood pouring heavily from his shattered body.

"Damn… damn… damn…

Am I really this damn weak?

Why do I lose at the very first step every time?"

Arthur felt hatred. Loathing. Self-hatred.

Self-hatred was a dangerous, terrifying force that drove a being's body to its absolute limits.

Yet the price was truly high.

It took a large portion of the purity of the heart.

And when the state of self-hatred ended, the being would regain its senses, but would become nearly inert, as if it had lost a large part of itself.

Arthur was now burning with hatred and loathing toward his weak human self.

His body trembled as a dark aura began to cover him entirely.

| Arthur, focus… don't drown in the darkness |

With Kain's calm yet worried voice, Arthur's eyes suddenly widened, his awareness snapping back sharply as he exhaled.

"It's not self-hatred, but darkness… you're right.

Thank you, Kain."

| What? Wait—don't do it! |

But it was already too late.

Arthur opened the storage and pulled out the preservation bottle.

"This… is everything I've gathered throughout the journey…

The power of Cthulhu's followers, monsters, humans… all their energy is in here."

(Not Cthulhu's power, but the energy of monsters, humans, followers of Cthulhu, and so on.)

He raised the vial without hesitation and swallowed its contents in a single gulp, then closed his eyes.

His body began refining the power madly.

It was the preservation bottle that Arthur had filled with everything he had drained from the energies of monsters, followers of Cthulhu, and even humans…

For a full five minutes.

---

After five minutes…

Arthur opened his eyes and slowly raised his head.

There was a massive hole in the center of the sky…

And a ruler had decided to appear in this world—not as a manifestation, but in his true body.

Arthur let out a quiet breath, then stood on his feet with a strange steadiness.

"Dragon Mode… Level Ten."

He spoke calmly, but his words carried the weight of destruction.

Energy began to gather violently and beautifully around his body.

His form shifted from human into a complete dragon.

Hard, tough scales, dark blood-red in color.

But this time… he was larger than ever before.

Arthur spread his dark, blood-stained wings and soared high into the sky.

He stood there, in the heights.

"Roar of the Great King."

He opened his mouth and released a massive roar that shook the air, cracking the sky under its pressure.

The atmosphere was engulfed in a dark, pure, crushing aura.

"Do you know, serpent…

No matter how much you try, you will remain a serpent.

You will never reach the level of a dragon."

Arthur smiled, revealing his sharp, pointed teeth, then shot down from the sky like a falling meteor.

He collided with Orochi with terrifying force.

"I am the great dragon, insect…

Know your place."

He swung his hand.

The first head… severed.

The second… fell.

Before he could cut the third—

Arthur noticed something with his dragon eyes.

{Please… kill me}

It was Izumi Hiroki, begging for death.

{Take revenge on them… kill all the constellations}

Arthur closed his sharp eyes for only a few seconds, then smiled and spoke in a resolute voice:

"That was my goal from the very beginning… and now I have an even greater reason to do it."

Izumi felt happiness in the final moments of his life as—

Arthur swung his hand once more, tearing Izumi's head from its place.

At that moment, Orochi's body began to crumble and dissolve into the air, until it completely vanished.

Arthur descended quietly from the sky and returned his body to that of a human dwarf.

---

{An unbelievable achievement has been accomplished}

{You are the first to pursue the King of Disasters in this scenario}

{The scenario cannot be classified due to the appearance of the King of Disasters}

{You have completed a story that does not exist}

{Due to the completion of an impossible scenario, all dokkaebi have left the Seoul Dome and Tokyo Dome for an emergency meeting}

Arthur looked at the dark sky and smiled faintly.

{The Star Stream has acknowledged your abilities}

{You have completed a total of four stories}

{You must now build the final story to become a constellation}

"The end is near."

Kim Dokja stood beside him, also gazing at the sky in silence.

In that moment…

Two heroes were etched into the record of history.

Two heroes who fought in an unbelievable way.

They would be known as the ones who saved this world from absolute evil.

The human hero: Kim Dokja.

The demonic dragon: Arthur.

And so…

Their names would be immortalized in this land, bound to deeds that would never be forgotten.
