Chapter 3
Choose Wisely and Decide the Goal of Your Life
In a small restaurant in the village, a young man with green hair and three swords tied at his waist sat devouring his food at great speed, clearly as if he would not survive without proper nourishment.
Beside him sat a young man with short black hair and faint black eyes, his hands wrapped in bandages, eating calmly and respectfully. Nearby, another young man with short black hair and a straw hat lifted his plate and emptied it into his mouth without hesitation, consuming his meal with speed and enthusiasm.
They were Arthur, Zoro, and Luffy, the three of them sitting together, affected by their recent survival experience. Everyone ate until they were full. Then, from a door behind Zoro, the little girl who had previously brought him food emerged, carrying bloodstained bandages. Behind her came an older woman, sweat pouring heavily from her forehead.
The woman sighed, then looked at Luffy with a reassuring smile.
"The wound was not very serious… your companion narrowly escaped death at the last moment."
Then a boy with pink hair walked out, leaning on a small wooden crutch. It was Koby. Luffy smiled, and everyone seemed pleased to see him. Koby sat beside Luffy and began eating quickly. After finishing his meal, he struck the table in frustration.
"What's wrong, Koby? Does your arm hurt?" Luffy asked, watching him with concern.
Koby replied with anger and resentment,
"It's not my arm… it's my heart. I never expected the Marines to treat people with such cruelty. Everything here feels as if they are the kings of the world, and the people are merely slaves. I was excited to join them, but now… damn it!"
Arthur sighed as he watched Koby with calm eyes, then said,
"Listen, boy… everywhere you go, you'll find scoundrels like them: in the Marines, among pirates, and even among ordinary people. But always remember that there is balance in the world. As long as there are villains, there are also good people."
Arthur continued in a firm and wise tone,
"If you want to change this cursed system and drive all the scoundrels out of the Marines, you have two choices:
First, join the Marines, climb the ranks, and work to change the system from within. But no matter how high you rise, there will always be someone above you. So you must build a group that shares your vision, people who think as you do, and then act at the decisive moment.
Second, you can establish a revolutionary army and confront the government directly. But this requires immense resources, extraordinary abilities, and exceptional intelligence, along with many other factors. You might succeed, or you might fail.
And of course, there is a third option."
Luffy looked at him in confusion.
"Didn't you say there were only two options? Where did the third one come from?"
Arthur smiled and replied,
"The third option… is the life of ordinary humans: live in the shadows, grow up, get married, have children, then die without achieving anything. Of course, no one will blame you or criticize you. But that life steals away your dreams."
Koby, understanding the wisdom, smiled at Arthur with gratitude and respect, while Zoro and Luffy exchanged silent looks of appreciation.
After several hours passed, Zoro said while looking at Luffy,
"Luffy… where's your ship? Let's set sail. There's nothing left for us in this village."
Luffy smiled, stood up, and walked outside the restaurant, his companions following him. He then pointed with his finger toward a modest little boat.
"This is our ship!"
Surprise appeared on Arthur's face. Zoro sighed in irritation but boarded the boat with the others, while Koby remained standing at the side.
Arthur approached Koby and asked,
"Have you chosen your goal, boy?"
Koby smiled with hope and brightness.
"Yes… I will join the Marines. Thank you for everything."
They all said their farewells, and the group set out into the open sea.
After half a day, Arthur sat quietly on the boat, gazing at the horizon, when a blue window appeared before him.
|Name: Arthur Narin
Age: 18 years
Level: 20
Strength: 100
Agility: 70
Endurance: 115
Intelligence: 50
Devil Fruit: None
Haki: None|
Points: 200
Arthur sighed, then thought,
"I must distribute my points wisely, not hastily. I don't know the balance of power in this world… there are those whose bodies stretch like rubber, and those who use three swords. Combat techniques vary. I know some martial arts, and I have my experience in killing and assassination."
After a while, he decided to distribute his points:
|Name: Arthur Narin
Age: 18 years
Level: 20
Strength: 200
Agility: 100
Endurance: 165
Intelligence: 70
Devil Fruit: None
Haki: None|
Available Points: 5
Arthur closed his eyes and focused on absorbing his new power. He felt a slight pain, but it was less intense than the previous time. Moments later, he opened his eyes. Energy spread through his body—he became more agile, lighter, and stronger, capable of sensing the energies around him.
|Congratulations! You have reached Level 25|
Arthur smiled, then remembered something.
"Wait. Didn't I receive three gifts? Let me check what I have."
He smiled again and said to himself,
"The storage… let's see what's inside."
A blue window appeared before his eyes, revealing three closed boxes. Arthur opened the first box, and a powerful light burst forth before him. Then an instructional window appeared directly in front of him:
|You have obtained "Eyes of the Sky."
A technique that helps the user sense the opponent's strength.
To activate the technique, place your gaze upon the opponent and send energy from your body to your eyes, and it will reveal their level.|
Arthur smiled excitedly, then immediately applied what he had learned and looked toward Luffy:
|Name: Monkey D. Luffy
Level: 50|
Arthur sighed deeply.
"Damn, he's much stronger than me… What about Zoro?"
|Name: Roronoa Zoro
Level: 45|
Arthur closed his eyes calmly, then said to himself with sarcasm,
"Man… I'm only 25!"
He then moved on to inspect the second gift. He opened the box slowly, and a new window appeared:
|Congratulations! You have obtained "Peak-Level Healing Elixir."
This elixir can restore a person who is near death back to life step by step, regardless of their injury. Even if only the head remains, they can survive if it is consumed quickly.
However, if you are late by even one second, a violent reaction will occur, resulting in the explosion of the user and everyone within a 100-meter radius.
You have only 5 elixirs.|
Arthur smiled in astonishment, as if it were the grand prize.
"An antidote capable of almost bringing the dead back… something legendary! But I must be careful in using it. If the person I give it to has completely lost life, the danger will be greatest for me."
Arthur ordered the elixir to be placed carefully in storage, then opened the third box.
|You have obtained additional clothes and money.|
A small counter appeared above the storage:
|You have: 50,000 Berries|
Arthur sighed with a smile.
"Well… I will certainly need this money. The currency of this world is the Berry… hmm…"
Arthur smiled and stood up as morning slowly began to slip through the clouds.
With the rise of the second day, Arthur was still watching Luffy, who boldly stretched his hand toward the sky. Arthur remained astonished by Luffy's strange and extraordinary abilities.
Luffy raised his hand, aiming at a large bird flying above them. He grabbed the bird, but instead of falling, it carried him into the air with astonishing steadiness.
Arthur and Zoro grew angry at the same time, as the scene was beyond their expectations.
Each of them grabbed an oar and sped forward toward Luffy, determined to catch up with him before he drifted too far into the sky.
