Chapter 14 – The Armani Man
March 2014 – The Campaign Launch
The sun was beginning to set over Los Angeles when Jacob Stewart opened his eyes that morning. Since returning from Italy, where he had photographed for Armani, his life had become a sequence of events and commitments. But today was different.
Today, the world would see the Armani campaign for the first time.
His cell phone vibrated on the bedside table. He picked up the device and saw several new messages, but one caught his attention. It was from Richard Calloway, his agent.
Richard: Are you ready to see yourself in every magazine and billboard in the world?
Jacob smiled, still adjusting to it all.
Jacob: I think so. It was too late to back down anyway, right?
Richard: Too late. Prepare for the impact.
Jacob laughed and stood up, feeling Lucky, his black Labrador puppy, climb onto the sofa and yawn.
"Do you think I'll look good on billboards, kid?"
Lucky just wagged his tail, and Jacob grabbed the leash to take the dog for a walk before the big moment.
A few hours later, Jacob and Richard were in a black car driving through downtown Los Angeles.
"All set?" Richard asked, fiddling with his phone.
"More or less. This is still kind of surreal for me."
Richard laughed.
"Surreal? Wait until you see."
They turned a corner and stopped at a busy intersection. And then Jacob saw it.
On the side of a huge building, a giant billboard displayed his image.
He was in a black suit, adjusting his tie, with a cold, intense look. The perfect lighting highlighted the details of the fabric, the impeccable tailoring, the power the image conveyed.
Above the photo, in sophisticated lettering, it read:
"Jacob Stewart for Giorgio Armani. The sophistication of the modern man."
Jacob stood silent for a few seconds, absorbing the sight. He looked around and realized it wasn't just there. Other smaller billboards were scattered throughout the streets.
In Times Square, New York, a digital screen showed a commercial where he walked through a dark, rainy city, adjusting the cuffs of his suit, with the Armani name glowing in the background.
On newsstands, GQ, Esquire, and Vogue Hommes carried editions with him on the cover, dressed in the suits from the campaign.
Richard looked at him and smiled.
"Welcome to the world of fashion, my friend."
Jacob chuckled softly, still processing everything.
"This is… unbelievable."
A woman walking on the sidewalk looked at him and then at the billboard, her eyes widening.
"My God, it's you!"
Jacob laughed and waved to her.
"Yes, I think it is."
The woman took out her cell phone and snapped a picture with him, and soon other people started noticing. Within minutes, a small crowd had gathered around, taking photos and commenting on the campaign.
Richard patted Jacob on the shoulder.
"You're not just John Wick now. You're the man in the suit."
While Jacob was still processing the impact of the billboards, social media was exploding.
Armani had simultaneously released a 30-second commercial that was already dominating YouTube, Instagram, and Twitter.
The video began with a city at night. Rain fell gently as Jacob stepped out of a luxury car, his impeccable suit reflecting the streetlights.
He entered a sophisticated building, rode the elevator, adjusted his watch, and then stopped in front of a mirror. His gaze was intense, determined.
A deep male voice narrated:
"A man is not defined by what he wears... But by what he represents."
Jacob then looked directly at the camera and said:
"Giorgio Armani. For those who know who they are."
The commercial ended with an image of the Armani logo and his name below:
Jacob Stewart – The New Face of Elegance.
The video exploded on social media.
On Twitter, the hashtag #JacobStewartArmani began to go viral, and the reactions were instantaneous.
"Now that's a campaign! Jacob Stewart looks incredible!"
"Saying now: I'm only buying Armani suits from now on."
"This guy went from the streets to becoming a Hollywood star and now he's the face of Armani?? Unbelievable!"
"John Wick? More like John Chic."
Luxury brands began commenting on Armani's post, praising the campaign. Celebrities like Leonardo DiCaprio, Ryan Reynolds, and Tom Hardy shared the commercial on their social media, praising Jacob's work.
Chris Hemsworth tweeted:
"Okay, I admit it. This guy looks better in a suit than I do."
Even Armani's official account posted an unusual tweet:
"Yes, we knew what we were doing when we chose Jacob Stewart."
In the fashion world, the campaign was met with acclaim. GQ published an article titled:
"Jacob Stewart: The Renaissance of Classic Men's Style"
Vogue Hommes wrote:
"From Hollywood to Haute Couture: How Jacob Stewart Redefines Style"
And Esquire declared:
"Jacob Stewart is not just an actor." "He's a rising icon."
The impact was so great that, just one week after the campaign's launch, Armani suit sales increased by 35%, the brand's biggest growth in years.
Jacob at the Launch Event
A few days later, Jacob was invited to Armani's official event in Milan. The luxurious hall was packed with journalists, photographers, models, and designers.
He arrived wearing, of course, one of the campaign suits, and immediately became the center of attention.
Lorenzo Ferrara, Armani's creative director, took the stage and picked up the microphone.
"Ladies and gentlemen, this campaign was special for us. Not only because we brought a new face to Armani, but because we chose someone whose story represents exactly what our brand believes in: determination, authenticity, and reinvention."
He then smiled at Jacob and extended his hand.
"It's an honor to officially present Jacob Stewart as the new ambassador for Giorgio Armani."
The audience erupted in cheers. Applause.
Jacob picked up the microphone and took a deep breath before speaking.
"If someone had told me a year ago that I would be here today, I would have laughed in their face."
The audience laughed, and Jacob smiled.
"But life has strange ways of surprising us. And all I can say is: thank you. Thank you to everyone who believed in me, who gave me a chance when I had nothing."
He looked around and concluded:
"And I hope to continue proving that anyone can change their story, no matter where they come from."
The event was an absolute success.
And at that moment, Jacob realized something important:
He was no longer just an actor.
He was a name. A brand.
And the whole world was watching him.
Chapter 15 – From the Street to Success: Taking Care of the Future
March 2014 – The Surprise at the Bank
Jacob Stewart sat in his temporary penthouse in Los Angeles, staring at the laptop screen on the glass table in front of him. The city glittered through the enormous panoramic windows, but he couldn't take his eyes off what he was seeing on the monitor.
His bank account.
The number on the screen seemed unreal.
$12,743,216.89
Jacob blinked, feeling a shiver run down his spine. He refreshed the page. The number remained the same.
It was unbelievable. Just a few months ago, he had nothing. He slept on cold sidewalks, counting coins to get something to eat. Now, his bank account was overflowing with millions of dollars.
He took a deep breath and ran his hands over his face.
"This is surreal…" he murmured to himself.
Lucky, his black Labrador, perked up his ears at the sound of his owner's voice and approached, resting his head in Jacob's lap. He ran his hand over the dog's soft fur and smiled.
"I know, kid. This can't be real."
But it was.
He had earned his fee for the film John Wick, advertising contracts with Armani and other brands, plus bonuses for appearances on TV shows. And that was just the beginning.
But along with the excitement came a nagging thought.
"What if I lose it all?"
Jacob knew the reality. He had seen people who made money fast and lost it even faster. He knew that success could be fleeting and that Hollywood was unpredictable.
He refused to go back to the streets.
And to ensure that, he needed to be smart.
The next day, Jacob scheduled a meeting with his agent, Richard Calloway, at one of the agency's offices.
Richard smiled as he saw Jacob enter.
"Look who it is, Hollywood's newest millionaire!"
Jacob laughed and sat down in the leather chair facing Richard.
"That's what I want to talk about."
Richard raised an eyebrow.
"What is it?"
Jacob took a deep breath.
"I don't want to be one of those guys who make a lot of money quickly and then lose it all. I know what it's like to have nothing, and I never want to go through that again."
Richard nodded, now more serious.
"I'm glad you're thinking that way. Many don't do it until it's too late."
Jacob looked at him with determination.
"I want to invest. I want my money to work for me. I want to ensure that if my career slows down one day, I still have a secure base."
Richard smiled.
"Good. Very good. And I know exactly how we can start."
He picked up the phone and made a quick call.
"Mark, I need you to come to my office now." "I have a new client for you to meet."
Jacob looked at him curiously.
"Who is Mark?"
"One of the best financial managers in Hollywood. He manages the money of several celebrities and knows exactly where to invest."
Fifteen minutes later, the office door opened and a man in a well-tailored gray suit entered. He was tall, with brown hair combed back and a calculating look.
"Mark Reynolds." He extended his hand to Jacob. "I've heard a lot about you."
Jacob shook his hand firmly.
"Jacob Stewart. Thank you for coming."
They sat down, and Mark opened a tablet, accessing charts and spreadsheets.
"Richard told me you want to make solid investments to ensure long-term financial stability."
Jacob nodded.
"Exactly. I never want to struggle again."
Mark smiled.
"Great mindset. And I have some suggestions for you."
He turned the tablet towards Jacob, showing different investment options.
— First, we need to divide your money into categories. I suggest the following strategy:
Emergency fund – At least $1 million in an easily accessible fund for unexpected situations.
Real estate – Buying properties can guarantee passive income in the future.
Stock market – Investments in solid, technologically advanced companies that continue to grow.
Promising businesses – Small, innovative companies that could explode in the coming years.
Jacob crossed his arms, absorbing the information.
— Sounds good. Let's start with the emergency fund.
Mark made some notes.
— Easy. Let's put this in a highly liquid fixed-income fund. You can access this money at any time, but it will still earn interest.
Jacob nodded.
— Great. Now, real estate.
Mark pulled out a folder and showed some property options.
— The real estate market is always a safe investment, especially in cities like Los Angeles and New York.
He turned the screen and showed a modern mansion in the Hollywood Hills.
"This is a luxury home that can be rented for film productions and events. The return is excellent."
Jacob looked at the photos and liked what he saw.
"I want that one."
Mark smiled.
"Excellent choice."
They also selected an apartment in Manhattan and another house in Miami, ensuring diversification in real estate investment.
Mark accessed a chart with established companies in the market.
"—Now, the stock market. Since you have a long-term profile, I suggest investing in tech giants."
He listed some options:
Apple (AAPL)
Microsoft (MSFT)
Google (GOOGL)
Facebook (FB)
Amazon (AMZN)
Jacob smiled.
"These companies will continue to grow, won't they?"
Mark nodded.
"Undoubtedly. They dominate the digital world and won't slow down anytime soon."
Jacob thought for a moment and decided.
"I want to invest $1 million in each one."
Mark wrote it down.
"Done."
Investing in Startups and Promising Businesses
Mark then opened another report.
" Besides the giants, it's always interesting to invest in innovative startups. Some may grow and become the next Apple or Google."
He showed some options, including a social network that was still growing.
"This is Instagram. They're not as big as Facebook yet, but their growth is impressive."
Jacob frowned.
"I joined Instagram recently. It seems like it's going places."
Mark smiled.
"Then I suggest a moderate-risk investment."
Jacob thought for a moment and decided to invest $500,000 in Instagram and smaller amounts in promising technology and artificial intelligence startups.
After two hours of meeting, Mark closed the tablet and smiled.
"Congratulations, Jacob. You just secured your future."
Jacob sighed in relief.
"So, if my career ever slows down…"
Mark laughed.
"You'll still be a millionaire."
Jacob shook his hand firmly.
"Thank you."
As he left the office, he felt a peace he hadn't felt in a long time.
He would never live on the streets again.
Now, his future was secure.
And life was just beginning.
