Chapter 128 - The Restless Heart

Uzuki Yugao sat down to rest.

She cast a glance at Rokuro and said, "If the bandits leave, they will still return. We can't leave this early. We have to ensure they won't come back; only then can our mission be considered complete!"

Rokuro patted his chest and said, "Rest assured, those guys have already been scared out of their wits by me. They absolutely won't dare to return. Let's rest a bit and then hurry up and leave!"

Uzuki Yugao glared at Rokuro. "If I say no, then it's no. Do you know how many people in the village will die if they run back? You guy are completely unreliable!"

Rokuro was speechless.

He had just slaughtered all four hundred people cleanly.

The system even gave him 7,400 Mission Experience Points. How could the mission not be completed?

However!

The scene on the mountain was too bloody.

Those bandits had all been bitten to pieces by the mud beasts he summoned.

That scene.

Wasn't very suitable for girls to see.

While Rokuro was feeling helpless, Yuhi Kurenai's brows furrowed slightly. She patted Uzuki Yugao and said, "Let's listen to Rokuro. We'll rest for a while and then leave this place!"

Uzuki Yugao looked at Yuhi Kurenai in astonishment. "Kurenai, for someone as steady as you, how could you say such a thing?!"

Yuhi Kurenai cast a glance at Rokuro and said calmly, "I'm afraid those mountain bandits are already dead to the last man. Otherwise, we wouldn't still be able to smell the scent of blood even all the way down here at the foot of the mountain!"

Uzuki Yugao's expression changed.

The scent of blood!

Of course she smelled it.

She had originally thought some wild beast had died nearby, which was why the smell of blood was so heavy.

Four hundred people all killed!

She hadn't even thought of such a thing.

Was this something a little brat could actually do?!

Uzuki Yugao was somewhat hesitant. She stood up and walked toward the mountain.

Seeing this, Rokuro hurriedly grabbed onto Uzuki Yugao's leg and said, "What is there to look at? Let's just rest a bit and hurry up and leave. Women shouldn't get involved in men's business!"

Uzuki Yugao turned her head, kicked Rokuro's hand away, and ran toward the mountain.

Seeing this, Rokuro sighed. "Why won't you just listen? What is there to look at with that kind of thing?!"

Yuhi Kurenai cast a glance at Rokuro and shook her head. "Don't worry, she is also a ninja who has participated in war. She just doesn't believe that a little brat like you could be so ruthless!"

Rokuro sighed. "You're still the best, Big Sister Kurenai. Someone as gentle as you is truly suitable to be a wife. Her personality is a bit too fiery. If I let her manage the household, I figure she wouldn't manage it well!"

Yuhi Kurenai shot a glance at Rokuro and didn't reply.

She knew the more she spoke.

The more energetic Rokuro would become.

With no one speaking.

The scene quieted down.

The two rested for a quarter of an hour.

Uzuki Yugao walked down from the mountain, her face slightly pale.

Returning to Rokuro's side, she glared at him. "Smelly brat, are you even human?!"

Rokuro stood up and rolled his eyes hard at Uzuki Yugao. "I told you not to go, not to go, but you insisted on going. Now that you got scared, you're blaming me again. What do you expect me to do?!"

Uzuki Yugao was speechless.

She just found it hard to accept that a little brat as young as Rokuro was actually a murderous demon who killed without blinking. This was simply too far a cry from his usual little pervert appearance.

After a moment of silence.

She sighed helplessly. "Commit fewer sins of killing in the future. If you can avoid killing, then it's best not to!"

Rokuro curled his lip, summoned the giant mud bird, jumped onto it, and said to the two women, "I only know that if you cut the weeds but don't dig up the roots, they will just grow back when the spring breeze blows. Enemies must be exterminated completely!"

Uzuki Yugao remained silent.

She couldn't understand Rokuro's way of thinking.

Yuhi Kurenai stood up and patted Uzuki Yugao's shoulder. "Alright, let's hurry up and leave this place. His life experiences are different from ours. He crawled out from hell. If you want to change his way of thinking, that might be a very difficult thing to do!"

Uzuki Yugao cast a glance at Rokuro up in the air and smiled bitterly. "I was just wondering if he even needs our protection. What's the point of Lord Hokage asking us to protect him?!"

Yuhi Kurenai thought for a moment and said, "I figure Lord Hokage just wanted the two of us to tether that restless heart of his. If we weren't here, I figure he might slaughter the world until it turned upside down!"

Uzuki Yugao's expression stiffened for a moment, and she smiled bitterly. "Is that so? I actually thought we had some great use. I didn't expect we were just pawns to keep him a tiny bit honest!"

Yuhi Kurenai didn't comfort Uzuki Yugao any further.

Some things!

Only have meaning when you figure them out yourself.

She pulled Uzuki Yugao onto the mud bird, and the three of them flew toward the sky once again.
