The next day as Silas headed to school, he picked up Kate on the way.
Arriving at school, he had his classes like normal, lunch passed, biology passed.
School ended, he dropped Kate off at her house, then went home.
Nothing happened.
The rest of the week passed like this.
Drive to school, pick up Kate on the way.
Have classes, then lunch, then classes. End.
Drive home and drop Kate off.
So after a few days of this, Friday arrived.
"Hey are you getting in?" Silas said to Kate who was standing at his car door.
"Yeah, one second." Kate responded.
Kate tried to close her bag but it was just too full of stuff, after a few more seconds of struggling she finally closed it.
She opened the door and put the bag on the floor.
"I'm ready."
Silas looked over.
"Took you long enough."
Kate smiled in embarrassment.
"Alright, let's go."
Silas turned on the radio and drove off towards school.
As they were cruising down the road, Kate turned her head and asked.
"Was it today you were going for dinner at Alice's house?"
Silas nodded.
"Yup, and from what I've heard from Emmett I'm gonna eat good."
Silas was a little excited.
Kate looked at his little smile and felt sour. Was eating really that good? She never got it.
"I can cook." Kate said.
Silas stopped daydreaming and looked over, his eyebrow raised.
"You can?"
Kate panicked. Could she? Yeah… like instant noodles.
"Yeah… a little." She said weakly.
She knew the situation wasn't looking good, but she couldn't stop herself, so she doubled down.
"You can come over some day, and I will cook for you." Now she had done it. It was over.
Silas saw her predicament but went along with it.
"Sure, we can play some games too, didn't your sister brag she was good at Texas hold'em?"
Kate nodded.
"Let's do that next weekend then." Silas said as he turned into the school parking lot.
Kate nodded weakly… what was she gonna do now?
They parked and Silas stepped out of the car, Kate quickly exited as well.
"Let 's head inside." Silas locked the car and strolled towards the stairs leading to the entrance.
Heading inside he was thinking about the good food he was going to eat later… he couldn't go up in weight but he still hadn't eaten anything more this week since the spaghetti.
Just when he arrived at his locker he felt something.
"Hello, Alice."
Alice stepped out from behind him.
"Ahhww, how did you know I was there?"
Silas smiled.
"You were too loud… and you smell."
Alice widened her eyes and frantically smelled at her herself. I smell?
"You liar, I don't smell."
Hehe.
Silas leaned in and took a whiff.
"You do."
"You smell good."
Alice was taken aback and then her face broke out into a smile.
"Hehe, thanks."
She was a little shy getting a compliment out of nowhere.
"Your first class is history… then math, just so you know." Alice said as she watched Silas try and find his schedule.
"Thanks." He really hadn't put that on his memory for some reason.
Silas grabbed his history book, notebook and pen. Then closed his locker.
"Are you ready for today?" Alice asked as they started walking towards the history classroom.
Silas nodded.
"Yeah, I hope your mom cooks enough food."
Alice smiled and nodded.
"Yeah, don't worry she is really excited about you coming over and eating her food."
Silas smiled.
"I hope so."
Just then they arrived at the history classroom.
"Let's meet at lunch, I need to go to my class." Alice said.
Silas smiled, nodded, then walked into the history classroom.
The class passed smoothly.
Silas walked to his locker to grab his math class stuff.
Putting his history class material into the locker he switched to his math class material.
After he closed his locker he headed for math.
Just when he was about to enter the classroom he felt a hand on his shoulder.
"My good brother, you're quite early today."
Silas turned his head and smiled.
"I'm not early, you're late."
Emmett smiled.
"Maybe… hehe, let's go in."
Silas nodded and walked into the classroom, and headed for his seat.
As he sat down, Emmett sat down beside him.
"Are you ready to eat a buffet?"
Silas looked over.
"Hehe, you bet, I'm starving, I've eaten less the past couple of days so I can eat more."
Emmett nodded.
"I saw, you aren't eating your daily apple in the cafeteria."
"So that's why."
"Yeah." Silas turned his head to look at the board.
"Are you gonna play some video games with me? Or are you just gonna hang with Alice when you come over?"
Emmett asked with a teasing smile.
Silas twitched his lips.
"We'll see, she might not let me… she's quite excited about me coming over, you know."
Emmett smiled harder.
"If you are a dog… don't try to hide your leash."
Silas scoffed. Him? A dog? Tsk.
"You're so funny, ha ha." Silas said sarcastically.
Emmett didn't seem bothered.
"Don't bark."
Silas turned his head away, his eyelid twitching. How infuriating. Is this how you treat you good brother? No love?
Just then the teacher walked in.
"Quiet!" He said.
The class started and they went through the Pythagorean theorem and last week we refreshed the Quadratic formula.
You know… far as I know we learnt these in middle school, I get like refreshing our memory, but truly?
Plus, most students here are slaves to their calculators, they program the formula into the calculator so they just put in their a,b and c thus getting the answer instantly.
Their bulky TI - smth did everything for them.
"Hey, Silas, have you done this week's math homework?"
Silas looked over.
"We got that?"
Emmett looked astonished. He's worse than me.
"Naah bro, you're good."
Emmett turned his head back. It's calm, the teacher likes Silas, since he is good at math.
The class passed smoothly.
"Ahh~ time for lunch." Emmett said as he walked out the door stretching.
"Yeah, I want my juice." Silas followed behind.
They did the usual. First head to Silas's locker, then Emmett's.
When they arrived at the cafeteria, the Cullens and Kate were already waiting.
"You two are late." Rosalie said.
Emmett scratched the back of his head.
"Sorry, the teacher just talked on and on, we couldn't get out of there."
Silas nodded.
"Tsk, excuses."
Just then Jasper stepped forward.
"Let's just have lunch, no drama."
Everyone nodded and headed inside.
Well inside, Silas headed for the line to buy some lunch.
Kate and Alice in tow.
Arriving in front of the cashier.
"Honey, are you gonna get more than just juice today?"
Silas smiled and shook his head.
"No, not until next week."
The lunch lady or cashier sighed.
"As you wish."
She walked over and grabbed a juice. She also grabbed what Kate and Alice were going to buy.
"Here."
Silas nodded then paid.
Alice smiled.
"Thank you."
Kate followed up.
"Yeah, thank you Silas."
They walked to the Cullen table and sat down.
Silas opened his juice box and took a couple of quick sips.
Ahh~ refreshing.
He looked up and felt a pair of eyes on him, he looked towards where the feeling was coming from, and he saw Bella staring at him, when she saw him look up she turned her eyes to Edward.
Silas furrowed his brows.
What is she planning?
Just then Alice slides her juice over.
"Want it?"
Silas looked at her smiling face and nodded.
"Of course."
He grabbed it and felt that it was still full.
What's good about having vampires as friends is, you get their food… or human food at least.
CHAPTER END.
