"of course there's a but" says Dave, his energy deflating like a balloon as he feels like he has had a bucket of ice water poured onto him dowsing his creative flame "so, what's the but?"
"the required items require an energy source for me to be able to materialise them, my systems show that this energy is available from you in three different forms" answers the AI as 3 bars appear on its screen
"this blue bar represents your mystical energy, it could be decribed as your mana, chakra cultivation or magic" it explains, zooming in on the blue bar showing it had a value of 5/5 "the up sides of using this to generate items is that it will recover naturally over time and even when it reaches zero it will have no affect on you, the down side of this energy is that it requires more of it to generate things"
"this yellow bar" it says as it moves down "represents your stamina, the up side of this method is that it is slightly more powerful than the blue energy and it can be recovered by eating food, resting and sleeping, the same as how you normally recover stamina, the down side of this energy is that as the value decreases it will affect your physical body and if it reaches zero you will pass out" the value of the current yellow bar displays 10/10
"Finally the red bar" the AI says once again, moving down to the red bar which has no value on it and is just a red bar "this is the most powerful form of energy you can use to generate items, being more than 100 times more powerful than both of the other two energies combined" it states
"why do i have a bad feeling about the red bar" Dave says, his eyes focused on the bar which he could swear felt different to the other bar even though the only difference between the bars was the color
"this red bar represents your life force, if used outside of extreme circumstances there is no way for it to recover and the more of it that you use the shorter your lifespan will be, running out of this energy will mean death as it represents your physical forms actual status"
Dave made a mental note in the back of his mind, never use the red energy to generate anything, EVER.
"so how much blue energy would it take me to create, let's say a pill that will make it so that i have 1 million magical energy" Dave says, hoping to find a way to cheat the system
"Analyzing, data required to make pill, unkown, multiplier activated, checking for ability to affect system, system affected, multiplier activated, scanning for possible pill present on planet, scan complete, no pill found, pill will affect dimension, multiplier activated, cost calculated" after finishing it displays a number on it's screen, or at least it tries to as the number extends off the screen due to its size
"what the, surely this can't be right, that number is huge and it would only give me 1 million energy on the blue bar" Dave says not even knowing the name of the number he was looking at "and what was with those multipliers"
"the multipliers are determined by a systems analysis on how generating an item would affect the dimension, not knowing a pills recipe means that the system needs more energy to create it, anything that could affect the system such as a sudden increase in the hosts magical ability beyond certain parameters cause a multiplier depending on the affected amount and if such a pill does not exist in this dimension creating it from scratch and making it so that the dimensions laws don't reject it requires a massive amount of power causing the largest multiplier, combined with the cost of actually creating the pill which would require 1 million energy from the blue bar to stick to the law of equivilant exchange this is the result"
"ok, I get it, no cheating the system" Dave says sighing in resignation as he pushes any idea of trying to boost himself to unimaginable levels so that he could generate endless things and become a god of creation "then what about an apple"
"analysing, apple data found, required blue energy (1)" displays the AI a red apple appearing on the screen
"well then here goes, generate apple"
all of a sudden a great light fills the room, godly power flows forth, atoms rearange themselves as nothing becomes something, the house shakes, the whole world rumbles, the dimension seems to be coming apart at the seams.
