As usual, the Misaka Sister arrived carrying a case on her back, a rifle in her hand, and several specially prepared grenades hanging from her waist.
The surrounding buildings were all scheduled for demolition and reconstruction, and the only source of illumination was the faint glow of the streetlights. Construction materials were scattered everywhere across the ground.
This area had long since been sealed off, so no ordinary people ever came here. The entire place appeared silent and abandoned.
There was even a building that had been deliberately blown up and collapsed beforehand, serving as a warning that the area was dangerous and should not be approached.
"Time: 19:30. Experiment number 8915 will begin in thirty minutes."
The Misaka Sister removed the guitar case from her shoulder, opened it, and checked the magazines and equipment stored inside.
"Extended magazine undamaged. Five hundred special rounds. Three flashbang grenades. Three high explosive rounds. One anti personnel landmine. Misaka confirms the weapon's operational integrity, says Misaka while completing the inspection."
"Based on the results of experiment 8912, formulate a combat strategy to deal with Accelerator, says Misaka while continuing the analysis."
"Taking into account Mr. Arata's interference with the experiment, Misaka..."
Before she could finish speaking, the very person she mentioned appeared walking toward her from the front and interrupted her.
"Okay, okay. That's enough of the endless muttering. You might as well finish the sentence you were about to say. It should be something like this. Considering that Mr. Arata's interference in the experiment might save the Misaka unit, you might as well abandon the experiment and go live a carefree and shameless life with Mr. Arata."
Arata chuckled as he approached the Misaka Sister, casually reaching out and decisively removing the weapon from her hands.
Seeing this, the Misaka Sister froze for a moment before instinctively trying to take it back. However, Arata immediately used telekinesis to immobilize her movements and calmly removed the grenades hanging from her waist.
"Mr. Arata's actions constitute a serious violation of private property rights and may be classified as theft. Misaka protests strongly against this behavior, says Misaka whi..."
"It's fine now."
Arata wrapped an arm around Misaka's neck and covered her constantly chattering mouth with his hand. With his other hand, he lightly pinched and rubbed her cheek. If not for the faint smell of antiseptic and medical chemicals lingering on her body, the soft touch might actually have been pleasant.
"Now I'm sending you to see Doctor Heaven Canceller. Don't resist. Otherwise, when I come back later, I might really have to give you a proper spanking."
Speaking of which...
Ever since he became stronger and gained a rather powerful status, his speech had become far more unrestrained. Thinking about it carefully, this behavior was completely different from the person he used to be.
Using the spatial type Imperial Arm, Arata instantly transferred the Misaka Sister to a certain hospital. In any case, Doctor Heaven Canceller would never allow a patient to simply walk out without treatment.
"Now it's my turn to wait for Suzushina Yuriko. Although your real name might not actually be Suzushina Yuriko, I'll call you that for now."
Arata smiled slightly. There was still a trace of awkwardness lingering between the two of them because of what had happened the last time they met.
"First, let's test this time manipulation ability."
Arata picked up a small stone from the ground, applied his ability to it, and then released it.
The stone fell toward the ground at an extremely slow speed, taking three full seconds to reach the surface.
Then, in the next instant, time reversal activated. The small stone returned to his palm as if a recording had been rewound and played in reverse.
After repeating the experiment several times, he gradually developed a clearer understanding of the basic characteristics of this time related ability.
Within a radius of five hundred meters, he could manipulate the flow of time itself. He could accelerate it, slow it down, or even reverse it.
However, the reversal effect could only last for three seconds.
After three seconds, the corrective force of the world would immediately restore the normal flow of time. Furthermore, the ability had no effect on living beings.
What a ridiculous drawback.
No wonder Aiwass described it as a newly born and immature concept of time.
"Still, I might be able to borrow an idea from Accelerator..."
Arata suddenly thought of a clever method.
If he kept his time manipulation ability constantly active and set a rule for himself, any object approaching his body at a speed exceeding one meter per second would immediately have its time reversed.
That would effectively place him in a state of absolute physical defense.
At that exact moment, a sharp sound of rushing wind suddenly came from behind him.
Arata turned around quickly and saw a white figure slowly descending from midair before landing lightly on the ground.
"Yo. Suzushina Yuriko. You're about thirty minutes earlier than I expected."
Arata stroked his chin thoughtfully before casually raising his hand and waving toward her with an almost cheerful attitude.
His gaze unconsciously drifted toward Accelerator's chest.
Still completely flat.
And now it was wrapped up again?
Did she not realize that excessive chest binding could seriously affect development?
"Suzushina Yuriko? Hah. You're still spouting that ridiculous nonsense, you worthless lowlife."
Accelerator stood there with one hand in her pocket and a crooked smile slowly forming on her lips. Compared with before, her entire presence now radiated a far more violent and bloodthirsty aura. Her crimson eyes were filled with even stronger murderous intent.
You bastard.
I will absolutely never forgive you for what you did.
How dare you treat me like that.
She had been lying unconscious on the ground like some helpless girl who had been completely bullied and humiliated, left totally at his mercy. The mere memory of it was enough to make her feel overwhelming rage.
"Well, even though we've basically been enemies for ages, I still have to say that you probably can't beat me. How about we just sit down and talk peacefully every day instead? Maybe even have a friendly heart to heart conversation?"
Arata scratched his cheek awkwardly and raised a finger as he casually suggested the idea.
Of course, he did not actually expect Accelerator to accept the suggestion.
Still, there was always the possibility that she might hesitate for a second.
"Hehehe... those little tricks you pulled on me yesterday made you pretty happy, didn't they? You disgusting lowlife."
Accelerator stared directly at Arata with bloodshot eyes. Without any hesitation, she suddenly stomped her foot down onto the ground.
The vectors beneath the ground instantly expanded outward.
Countless cracks spread across the surface in every direction.
The ear splitting sound of concrete fracturing echoed through the entire area. The ground trembled violently. Several abandoned buildings tilted dangerously as if they were about to collapse.
Then, in the very next moment, the entire ground shattered completely.
Massive chunks of concrete shot upward into the sky like artillery shells being fired from cannons.
"You opened the fight with such a massive attack right away? Were you really planning to defeat me with a single move?"
Arata could not help feeling a little shocked when he witnessed the scale of the destruction. Even he would not have been able to cause this level of devastation with a single attack.
"Hehehehe..."
Accelerator let out a low laugh.
"I've already calculated dozens of different methods to deal with you. You're a rare multi skill esper, but based on your frequent use of telekinesis and spatial movement abilities, those two powers must be the only ones that have reached Level 5."
Accelerator's lips curled upward into a twisted smile filled with malicious satisfaction. Her laughter carried a chilling tone as she gazed at the sky now filled with floating debris.
"Even if your telekinesis has reached Level 5, it still isn't enough to defeat me. As for teleportation, that ability has a fatal weakness. A teleporter cannot move into a space that is already completely occupied. If they attempt it anyway, their body would simply fuse into the surrounding matter."
"And even if you tried to rely on your other abilities to counter my power, it wouldn't matter. Once the vectors have already been calculated and applied, the objects I launch will still fall."
"The result is obvious. Despair. Hehehe. Hahahaha. This strategy really does make me happy."
Accelerator grinned wildly as she once again manipulated the vectors, shattering the remaining concrete within the main area and launching it into the sky at supersonic speeds.
Within the central combat zone, every single square meter of space now contained more than five chunks of broken concrete of various sizes.
Crack. Crack.
Several abandoned buildings finally collapsed completely under the overwhelming force.
