"It is a very interesting and audacious delusion. No wonder he is one who divides an era. I am very happy at this moment. To be able to meet someone who is transforming one era into another is a probability close to zero. This happiness will linger for a long time."
Aiwass spoke in a voice that made no distinction between male, female, young, or old. The emotions emanating from Him were so profound that even living beings could sense the miracle within them.
"If you follow me, the future may become very interesting. Since you have perceived a fragment of my power, you should understand what that signifies," Arata said with a faint smile as he looked at Aiwass.
Aleister remained silent, observing calmly. His relationship with Aleister Crowley was merely that of one who received knowledge from Aiwass. He had no authority to command the angel known as the "Secret Chief" and the "Source of Knowledge."
Angels may possess countless spiritual aspects, yet they can only observe reality and cannot interfere with it, not even to the extent of stirring a single leaf. Only through a suitable vessel can they exert influence upon the physical world.
"After waiting for countless years, I cannot be certain that you are the one I seek. Yet you undoubtedly hold the key to unlocking the place within my heart. I shall observe you from your side until you discover that place."
Aiwass's light and shadow flickered in and out of existence. His words were indistinct, as though deliberately veiled. Perhaps this was the manner of such transcendent beings, forever seeking a higher realm beyond themselves.
In this world, beings like Him are worshipped as sources of knowledge and objects of faith.
If entities such as Secret Chiefs are described in biblical terms, they can be divided into three levels, like three concentric circles surrounding the universe.
The first circle in Kabbalah, known as the "Ain," represents those who have completed the Tree of Life and reached its ultimate summit. They possess the entirety of a system's knowledge, stand on the threshold of omnipotence, and wield infinite power capable of overturning all laws. The world is fragile before them and can be easily destroyed.
They are also known by another name: Demon Gods, beings who have mastered magic to its absolute extreme. They create their own mythological phases, determining the laws that govern reality.
The world is no longer in its original state. It is layered with countless phases.
Aleister's objective was to separate all phases from reality. To accomplish this, he constructed the Imaginary Number District.
Once the Imaginary Number District encompasses the entire world, artificial phases will isolate all mythological phases.
The remaining two circles of Kabbalah have yet to manifest.
"I do not know whether he is the one you seek, but I may know the place you wish to reach."
Arata's eyes gleamed faintly, and a smile appeared on his lips. All Aiwass desired was to depart from this world.
"It seems you truly hold the key. Your existence itself is proof. You are equivalent to a universe, containing within you all that Kabbalah describes: the ten Sephirot, the three infinite veils, and the four worlds. No, they are not identical, but they are remarkably similar."
Aiwass recounted what He had perceived. As soon as He finished speaking, a strand of spiritual essence separated from Him and attached itself to Arata.
"Ah..." Arata felt the Void star:Tai suu react instantly. A virtual starry cosmos formed within his body, enveloping that beam of light and shadow.
"That was my spirit. It does not interfere with your power. It merely serves as a medium to connect with you" Aiwass explained.
"Hmm. Before you allowed your spirit to descend upon me, I should have asked about your gender." Arata raised an eyebrow. Although Aiwass was often depicted as female, beings of such a level transcended ordinary distinctions.
"Hehe... Beings like me are born without the concept of gender. Form and gender were assigned merely to describe my existence. In human terms, I presently manifest as female," Aiwass replied with amusement.
"Hmm." Arata nodded, released the seal, and another projection of Aiwass appeared behind him.
Turning to the composed Aleister, he smiled. "Chairman Aleister, shall we return to our previous topic? The matter of the Misaka Sisters."
"Very well. Act without interfering with my ultimate objective," Aleister responded calmly.
The situation had already exceeded his control. He had no means to contend with an omniscient existence, nor any method to counter such authority.
Nevertheless, regardless of the variables, his grand design would proceed according to schedule. The process might vary, but the outcome would remain unchanged.
Anyone could move within the framework of his plan. The difference lay only in the methods of negotiation.
Handling someone like Arata was simple. Allow him freedom. He resided in Academy City and was already connected to the scientific side.
At this moment, Aleister even felt a trace of relief that Arata had appeared within Academy City. Had he emerged in the magical side, his ambitions might have collapsed entirely.
"Thank you, Chairman Aleister. As long as you do not drag me into unnecessary matters, you are not beyond redemption," Arata said meaningfully before vanishing from the Windowless Building.
Aleister remained motionless, as though nothing had transpired.
"Omniscience... a power even those who have reached the summit of the Ain cannot attain. To face such an enemy would be insurmountable."
"That is why they are the ones who divide eras. Their era has ended, Aleister."
"You have discovered yet another fascinating human, have you not, Aiwass?"
...
"It is somewhat thrilling..."
The moments he stepped out of the Windowless Building, Arata could not help but marvel at his own boldness. He had truly sat across from Aleister and Aiwass as an equal, playing a game upon the board of the world.
Fortunately, Void star: Tai suu had altered the very foundation of his existence. Otherwise, standing before such beings would have been impossible.
In truth, he did not harbor much hostility toward Aleister.
Though Aleister appeared devoid of human emotion, that emptiness was a disguise born of profound love.
His determination to destroy magic and rebel against the Demon Gods stemmed not only from a desire to reveal the truth of the world to humanity, but also from a deeply personal tragedy. His eldest daughter had died an unnatural death because of the laws established by the Demon Gods.
He had defied divine law to protect his wife and daughter, allowing his child to be born safely. Yet even then, he could not ultimately resist those laws.
To secure his daughter's continued existence within the world, he stood against the Demon Gods.
He abandoned his status as a leader of the magic side and raised the banner of science.
To the magic side, this was an unforgivable betrayal. He was hunted relentlessly by magicians who sought his death.
When the world believed him dead, he was revived by the Heaven canceller. He changed his identity, journeyed to the Far East, founded Academy City, and began preparing his rebellion against the Demon Gods.
"I suppose I am now a chess player as well," Arata murmured softly, a satisfied smile gradually spreading across his face.
