Chapter 31 - Chapter 31 - 50,000

I kept watching the gorilla as its stats slowly decreased. With its entire body covered in wounds, it could barely move anymore, and it ordered the remaining monkeys to try to kill me.

It was actually funny watching them climb the wall trying to reach me. Whenever one of them got close, I used my legs to pierce their bodies, causing heavy bleeding.

Little by little, they all died, while the giant monkey stared at me as if I were the most hateful person in the world.

'Don't look at me like that~~ I'm not doing this out of malice. I just want to get stronger~~'

I mocked it mentally, and the giant monkey seemed to notice, as it became visibly agitated.

After finishing off all the smaller monkeys, I didn't level up even once, which was surprising.

But I wonder how many levels I'll gain by killing this one. Its stats are pretty high, and it's very strong. I hope I gain at least five levels.

After I kill it, I'll start hunting other anomalies, since I think that's the right thing to do. Not only does it "clean" the labyrinth, but they also give me a lot of EXP!

So, I quickly approached the giant monkey.

I stopped in front of it and looked up.

I began swinging my legs as if I were mocking it. It glared at me with bloodlust in its eyes and bared its large teeth. Then, it tried to stomp on me.

However, I easily dodged its foot, which only made it even more furious.

It started stomping the ground repeatedly and tried to crush me in every possible way, but that only made its body bleed even more.

I couldn't help but laugh internally as I watched this idiot rapidly lose HP.

Its current HP was already below five thousand.

If I strike its head or neck now, it's dead.

But honestly… I feel like making it suffer.

Should I just keep playing with it until it succumbs to the injuries I inflicted?

Yeah, that sounds like a good idea.

'But seriously, the "System Corruption" skill is terrifying.'

It doesn't consume much SP or MP—I can basically use it infinitely on a target if I want.

I don't think God thought this through very well before creating a skill like this. He should've been more careful.

'Come on, come on—try to stomp me, try to punch me.'

I started running around the monkey, and it began chasing me, trying to kick and punch.

After two minutes, its HP had already dropped below 2,000.

The monkey also realized it was close to death. Its movements became slower, and it stopped roaring in rage like before.

I smiled at it, but soon my smile faded, because something strange started happening.

The ground began to tremble slightly.

But the tremor kept growing stronger over time.

'Are those footsteps?'

They sounded like the steps of something very large.

Since the monkey was standing still, it couldn't be it.

Soon, the image of a dragon came to my mind.

Could it be that powerful dragon from the original story? Did I finally find it?

I started to get a little excited and looked at the monkey.

'I guess it's time to stop playing.'

I disappeared and instantly reappeared right behind it. I climbed onto its back and drove both of my legs into the back of its neck.

Deep cuts.

A large amount of blood gushed out.

Then, several system messages appeared.

After killing it, I leveled up 3 times and reached level 6.

Honestly, I was expecting to gain around 5 levels at once, but unfortunately that didn't happen.

'Damn, what should I do with its body? If I leave it here, other monsters will eat it and new anomalies will appear.'

That's a big problem.

Even if I kill all the anomalies, I'll need to eat their entire bodies. If I don't, other monsters will eat their flesh and turn into anomalies.

In fact, even those smaller monkeys suddenly became anomalies.

There's no way I can eat all of this!

And besides—

Thump!

Thump!

Thump!

The heavy footsteps were getting closer. The tremors were intensifying.

'I really wanted to eat you, but you'll have to wait a bit.'

It would be great if I had some kind of magical storage like those protagonists usually have—the kind where you can store food and it never spoils.

I'd keep all these bodies to eat later~~

After letting out a long sigh, I climbed up the walls and hid inside a hole. I waited for the giant monster to appear so I could gauge how big it was.

The footsteps were so heavy and powerful that even the walls began to shake.

Then I finally saw it.

'It really is a dragon… but I'm sure it's not the one I was expecting.'

Yeah, it's not Araba.

Its stats were a bit terrifying.

And on top of that, this thing is huge!

Even though I'm close to the ceiling of the labyrinth, its head almost reaches me.

Damn, it's definitely going to notice me.

If even that monkey managed to detect my presence… this dragon will definitely know I'm here.

But contrary to my expectations, the black dragon passed by me and went toward the monkey's body.

It looked at the corpse for a few seconds. I thought it would eat it, but it didn't.

It stepped over the monkey's body and then disappeared without looking back.

'Urgh… my body trembled for a moment.'

That thing's stats were above 50,000!

I've never seen such a strong monster before—not even my mother reached that level.

There's no way I can fight something like that.

'Well… maybe "System Corruption" could work, but… it's better not to go after it for now.'
