A morning, Daniel woke up early, the soft morning light spilling through the windows. He ate breakfast with his wife and child, trying to savor a sense of normalcy. His son, Joe Root, was seven years old, a lively boy with curiosity that often led him into trouble.
But today, Daniel noticed something unusual.
He saw Joe sneaking toward a nearby cave, his movements quiet and careful.
"Hey, Joe," Daniel called, concern sharpening his voice. "Why do you go to the cave every day? Are you secretly meeting someone?"
Elizabeth, Daniel's wife, sighed and shook her head.
"Daniel," she said calmly, "he's just a child. Don't ask him such critical questions."
Following Joe
That afternoon, Daniel and Elizabeth saw Joe heading toward the cave once again. Quietly, they followed him.
Deeper and deeper into the cavern he went, until the air grew cold and heavy. Shadows twisted unnaturally along the walls, and a faint, chilling aura pressed against their senses.
Then, in the heart of the cave, they saw it—a Plesar.
At first glance, it appeared angelic, glowing faintly and ethereal. But Daniel could see the truth: these were fallen angels, malevolent beings whose strength rivaled that of sages and mages. They fed on human energy and emotions.
Daniel had noticed Joe acting strangely before—his emotions muted, his energy drained. Now he understood why.
The Plesar's gaze fixed on Joe.
"So…" it said, its voice like silk cutting through the air, "tell me your wish."
Joe's small voice trembled, yet clear:
"Food… and friends."
The Plesar chuckled.
"You always want the same thing, don't you?"
Joe nodded.
"Because this gives me happiness."
Suddenly, Joe seemed to vanish, running through an imaginary world. In his mind, he played with friends he never had, ate foods he had never tasted, and laughed without fear or worry. In reality, he was alone—but in his mind, he was happy.
Daniel's heart sank. He realized the truth: his son had no friends. He didn't know how to make them, and this imaginary world was the only place where Joe felt joy.
The Attack
The Plesar noticed Daniel and Elizabeth. Its eyes gleamed with malice as it struck.
Elizabeth shoved Daniel aside just in time. He dodged, but Elizabeth was struck and knocked unconscious.
"Go… run!" she shouted weakly. "You need help!"
The Plesar smiled cruelly.
"Ooh… unlucky parents," it murmured.
Elizabeth rose, pushing herself weakly to her feet.
"Run… please… take help… go!"
But the Plesar, named Miha, caught Daniel in its grasp.
"Run?" Miha mocked. "Hah! You cannot escape me."
Elizabeth pleaded, her voice trembling.
"Please… leave my child and husband!"
Miha laughed darkly.
"Huh… what a family drama. How touching. I will release your husband… if you give me your energy and emotions."
Elizabeth hesitated, then nodded.
"Okay… take it. Just leave my husband."
Daniel struggled, but Elizabeth forced him to break free. He ran.
Miha sneered.
"Your husband will never return…" it hissed, tossing Elizabeth aside.
"Don't you dare speak!" Elizabeth spat back. "Leave my child!"
Miha's eyes gleamed with cruel amusement.
"Your child will go to another dimension… where he will always have happiness and joy. His mind will never return to the real world."
The Escape
Joe awoke, smiling, his small hands reaching out.
"Please…" he whispered.
Daniel, panting and desperate, ran to the Official Adventurers' office.
"A Plesar! I saw a Plesar!" he shouted. "It captured my family! Please… protect them!"
The manager blinked, skeptical.
"Are you serious? Plesar are incredibly rare."
"I'm serious!" Daniel insisted.
The manager summoned reinforcements—three Wardens, four Silver-rank Adventurers, and one Platinum-class Adventurer. Daniel's heart lifted. At least someone powerful had come to help.
Confrontation in the Cave
They reached the cave. Miha's voice echoed:
"Ooh… more slaves, come, come!"
Four Silver-rank Adventurers, mesmerized by her beauty, fell to their knees.
"We want to be your slaves!" they cried.
Even the Platinum-class Adventurer and Daniel felt the oppressive control of Miha's aura.
"Hey! Are you all going to be my slaves?" Miha asked.
"Yes… we want to serve you!" they chorused.
Miha's laughter rang through the cavern.
"I like it…"
The manager's heart pounded. Daniel's mind raced.
Then, suddenly, Miha released Joe.
"Do you like this, child?" she asked.
Joe blinked, then smiled. "Ahhh… I want to spend more time!"
But when he saw her beauty, he mimicked the adults.
"I… want to be your slave."
Miha laughed and threw everyone else into an enchanted prison, leaving Joe free.
"You are all so unlucky," she said, smirking. "I don't like old men… I like children."
Daniel's Hope
Daniel remembered a lesson from the past. Black ViSage had once told him:
"You are a good person. If you are ever in danger, break this charm. I will sense it and come to protect you."
Daniel's hands shook as he took out the valuable item Black ViSage had given him.
He activated it. The charm shattered.
The Potion
Miha, noticing Joe, handed him a small vial.
"Eat it, my dear slave," she said with a smile.
Joe hesitated, then nodded.
"Okay… as you wish," he said.
Miha smiled wider, watching the boy consume the mysterious potion, her aura glowing dangerously in the dim cave.
Daniel clenched his fists, determination blazing in his eyes. He would save his family—no matter the cost.
