"How do I feel? I feel great. Better than I've ever felt," Wei Qing answered honestly.
Even though he still hadn't fully mastered the Path of Abundance, his attainments on that Path—thanks to Yaoshi's absurd generosity—had already surpassed Shuhu, who had accumulated power for thousands of years.
No wonder Shuhu had always been so arrogant in the original plot. Feeling the boundless, surging vitality in his body, Wei Qing was starting to get a little swollen with confidence himself. He felt like—aside from an Aeon—nobody could kill him anymore.
Of course, with his current strength, it was likely that almost no one below Aeons could stand as his opponent anyway.
Maybe now he could even "touch hands" with that Marshal?
When he first arrived on the Luofu, that Xianzhou Marshal—having heard of his exploits—had personally visited. Back then, Wei Qing hadn't exposed anything, but with Destruction and Hunt still only barely within reach, he'd known he was nowhere near the Marshal's level.
He stretched a little. A thread of emerald life wrapped around his fingertips, radiating a refreshing, soothing aura.
"Abundance really does live up to its reputation," he said slowly.
That openness was so disarming it left everyone unsure how to respond.
Clearly, Wei Qing didn't think the Alliance would start excluding him just because he'd become an Emanator of Abundance.
Power itself wasn't good or evil—only the wielder's intent mattered.
After all the merits he'd earned for the Xianzhou Alliance, and given he was the Luofu's designated next General, if the Alliance tried to exclude or eliminate him over this, then the Alliance would be the one truly doomed.
"So what, Master—you worried I'll sprout rotten leaves all over my body next, or suddenly start singing praises to the Merciful Medicus?" Wei Qing asked.
General Teng Xiao snorted. "Smooth talker! If you dare chant Abundance in front of me, I'll be the first to trim your branches with my formation blade."
The words were harsh, but the stance was crystal clear.
After all, the Reignbow Arbiter had descended as well—and if Lan hadn't said anything, what right did others have to accuse Teng Xiao's disciple?
Jingliu stood with arms folded over her sword, watching Wei Qing. "Power is a blade. The one who holds the blade decides. Abundance can also be strength for the Hunt. I believe you." Simple. Forceful.
Dan Feng followed. "If guided well, Abundance's power could benefit the Luofu—and even the maintenance of the Ambrosial Arbor's seal."
Among the other meritorious figures and high officials present—Jing Yuan, Bai Heng, Ying Xing, and the rest—most were familiar with Wei Qing. And with the three most authoritative and powerful people on the Luofu having spoken, no one else could plausibly say anything oppositional.
To interrogate their own greatest contributor over this would make the Xianzhou Alliance a laughingstock across the cosmos.
No faction would refuse an additional Emanator-level existence.
"Since no one has objections, then for now, we'll end this matter here," Teng Xiao said heavily, drawing a line under Wei Qing becoming an Emanator of Abundance.
He then turned toward Herta and Ruan Mei. The two geniuses had not only aided the Luofu through their calculations, but had also provided substantial support during the war itself.
"Ladies, the Luofu will remember your help. If you have any needs—so long as they don't violate Alliance law or duty—the Luofu will do its utmost to assist," Teng Xiao promised.
Herta's eyes lit up at once. She pointed at Wei Qing. "Nothing else for now. Just lend him to us for a few days so we can study him!"
Ruan Mei added softly, "Not only because of our earlier cooperation—I'm also very interested in the Path of Abundance. If Mr. Wei Qing could cooperate with our research, that would be ideal."
This time, there was even a clear note of anticipation in Ruan Mei's voice. Her interest in an Abundance Emanator was… high.
"Aiyo—these last few days I've been running all over the place. I'm exhausted," Wei Qing groaned dramatically. "How about you two give me a few more days to lie flat? Research isn't urgent, right?"
He clutched his forehead, staggered a step, and even squeezed out an expression of fatigue.
"Cough cough… I'm mentally and physically drained, my vitality's shattered, I feel hollowed out… without ten days to half a month I'm not recovering…"
While he spoke, he stole glances at Herta and Ruan Mei's reactions.
"Cut it out," Herta snapped, hands on hips. "Didn't you just say you felt amazing?"
"What—did you forget what you promised us? Or forget what we saw in the Qiong Guan Array? Want me to remind you?"
Ruan Mei pressed her point again. "The more exquisite a life-form, the more valuable the early-stage data during transformation. You've just accepted Abundance's power—this is the golden window for observation and recording. Missing it would be a shame."
But Herta's mention of the Qiong Guan Array made others uneasy.
The Qiong Guan Array…?
Teng Xiao's brows knit again. He'd assumed it merely foresaw Shuhu's invasion, but from Herta's tone, there seemed to be deeper secrets.
Yet judging from Wei Qing's expression, he clearly didn't want to bring it up.
Teng Xiao drew a slow breath, suppressing his worries. "You two—since Wei Qing has already reached an agreement with you, we respect his choice."
"But the research will have to wait. I need to take Wei Qing to Yaoqing first."
"Yaoqing? Didn't the Antimatter Legion retreat—did they make another move?" Wei Qing asked, puzzled.
Surely Phantylia and the others wouldn't actually plan to slam headfirst into the Xianzhou Alliance. That would be a very stupid choice.
Teng Xiao shook his head. "The Legion did retreat. But the appearance of three Emanators of Destruction is no small matter. The Marshal has already gone to Yaoqing personally to hold the line."
"The Marshal…?" Wei Qing paused.
"That's right. Since you've now become the Emanator of the Plagues Author, the Marshal has to see you—one way or another," Teng Xiao said.
This was too significant to bypass the Marshal.
Still, Teng Xiao wasn't overly worried. The Alliance wasn't stupid enough to create an Emanator-level enemy for itself.
And besides—this was someone "cleanly rooted," their own. The final result would most likely just be a formal process.
But there was another, more important reason Teng Xiao wanted to take Wei Qing to the Marshal.
He looked quietly at his disciple.
The Luofu's crisis was resolved.
Maybe… it really was time for him to step down and yield the seat to the worthy.
