The morning sunlight streamed through the window and spilled into the room.
Kaien slowly opened his eyes and looked at Kushina, who was sleeping beside him. His heart was filled with happiness.
Kushina's long red hair draped softly over her shoulders, her sleeping face peaceful and serene.
Kaien couldn't help himself—he leaned down and kissed her red lips.
Feeling his movement, Kushina slowly opened her eyes. A trace of laziness lingered in her hazy gaze.
She wrapped her arms tightly around Kaien's waist and responded to his kiss. Only when they were almost out of breath did they reluctantly separate.
"You little rascal, taking advantage of me so early in the morning," Kushina said, lifting her delicate pink fist and lightly tapping Kaien's chest.
Kaien chuckled and hugged her slender waist.
"Who told you to be so tempting? I can't control myself."
"Hmph! You're just all talk!" Kushina huffed, though she was clearly enjoying the moment.
"So, have you decided yet?" Kaien asked.
"Decided what?" Kushina looked at him, confused.
"Give it to me," Kaien said with a mischievous smile.
Kushina narrowed her eyes and lightly patted his arm.
"Why are you so impatient? How can someone decide something like that so quickly?"
"Of course I'm impatient!" Kaien put on an aggrieved expression.
"We're only one step away, and I still can't have you. How could I not be anxious?"
Hearing this, Kushina burst out laughing and scolded him playfully.
"You're so annoying, always bullying me!"
"Who told you to be so charming?" Kaien replied shamelessly.
"Where am I charming?" Kushina shot him a coquettish glare.
"Your skin, your little face, your small mouth…" Kaien said before leaning down to kiss her again.
Kushina giggled under his kisses, her small fist lightly thumping his chest without any real force.
The two lay in bed, whispering sweet words, chatting, and fooling around. The atmosphere was warm and sweet, and neither of them felt like getting up.
"Bang, bang, bang!"
Just as Kushina was eating her baguette again, a knock sounded downstairs.
Kushina instinctively tried to lift her head, but Kaien pressed her down.
"Someone's here—go open the door!" Kushina urged, pushing him.
"Ignore it," Kaien said impatiently.
Right now, all he wanted was Kushina.
"Hurry up, or I'll really get angry!" Kushina glared at him coquettishly.
She was worried about their relationship being discovered. Kaien absolutely couldn't keep messing around at a time like this.
Seeing that Kushina was about to get angry, Kaien reluctantly let her go. He put on his clothes and went downstairs to open the door.
"Who is it?!" Kaien snapped irritably as he opened the door.
"Hehe, what? Did I interrupt your good time?" Shion stood at the door, smiling.
"Did you predict this?" Kaien frowned.
Shion smiled and shook her head, then casually hooked her arm around his.
"Kaien, who is it?" Kushina asked as she came downstairs, already dressed.
The moment she saw Shion holding Kaien's arm so intimately, she froze.
A strong sense of sourness surged in her heart, as if something precious was about to be taken away.
"Hello, Mother," Shion greeted sweetly. "I'm Kaien's girlfriend, Shion."
"Oh—so you're Kaien's girlfriend!" Kushina quickly regained her composure, though her face flushed even more.
"Come in, come in. Don't just stand at the door."
Kushina had never met Shion before. She hadn't been on missions for a long time, and Naruto had never introduced Shion to her.
"Mother, why is your face so red?" Shion asked knowingly, deliberately teasing her.
"Uh—I have a slight cold," Kushina replied awkwardly, sneaking a glare at Kaien.
This little rascal… he has such a beautiful girlfriend, yet he's doing this kind of thing with an old woman like me first thing in the morning. Hmph—just you wait tonight.
Kushina pulled Shion into the living room and said, "You haven't eaten breakfast yet, have you? I'll cook."
"Thank you, Mother," Shion replied politely.
"You're welcome. Sit and chat with Kaien for a bit," Kushina said, heading into the kitchen.
As soon as Kushina left, Kaien glared at Shion.
"Why did you come to my house?"
"What? I can't visit my boyfriend's home?" Shion smiled.
"Who's your boyfriend? I never agreed," Kaien snorted.
"You didn't agree?" Shion smiled dangerously. "Do you want to end up like Naruto?"
A chill ran down Kaien's spine. His whole body stiffened.
He had just gotten Hinata, and Kushina and the others hadn't even been fully taken yet. He absolutely didn't want to become useless.
"Scared?" Shion leaned close to his ear and whispered, her breath fragrant.
"As long as you don't abandon me, nothing like that will happen, okay~"
"Gulp…"
Kaien swallowed hard and hurried into the kitchen.
"Hehehe~" Shion covered her mouth and chuckled as she watched him flee.
"What are you doing in here?" Kushina asked sourly when she saw him enter.
"Aren't you supposed to be keeping your little girlfriend company?"
Hearing the jealousy in her tone, Kaien chuckled. He wrapped his arms around Kushina's slender waist from behind, rubbing his nose against her neck.
"What? Are you jealous?" he asked teasingly.
"I am not," Kushina said stiffly.
"Really not?" Kaien grinned and lowered his head, biting her fair neck and leaving a faint row of teeth marks.
"Hiss~~" Kushina gasped and immediately turned to glare at him.
Seeing her flustered expression, Kaien smiled wickedly. He cupped her face and kissed her lips.
"Kaien, you—mmph!"
Her words were cut off by his kiss.
Instead of resisting, Kushina wrapped her arms around his head and kissed him back passionately.
After a long while, they finally separated.
Leaning against him, Kushina lightly pounded his chest and muttered unhappily.
"You already have a girlfriend. Why are you still bothering me?"
Kaien smiled playfully and hugged her tighter.
"Because you're too tempting. I can't resist."
