The cold wind moved peacefully along the trees. The trees despite being of uneven height and shape moved in accordance with nature demanded it.
The forest was quiet. The sound of footsteps moved along the trees. Nature made no sort of noise. It was creepy.
"This place is kind of scary", a young boy with black hair said.
"Yeah, creepy…" another with black hair replied.
"We haven't seen a single soul since we came in" Cloud quietly said.
Two brothers walked through this forest. The older wore a red top, and black trousers. He had black hair black hair packed to the back. His name was Cloud. While the younger wore a green top and white down. His black short hair fell to the ground. His name was Moonlight.
They have been walking for some minutes. But to them it felt like hours.
"Something's changing" Cloud expressed, his eyes at all sides.
As they moved on, their pathway got wider. Lesser trees showed up as if clearing a way for them both.
The atmosphere was off.
The trees grew taller reaching fifteen to twenty meters of height approximately. Reducing the amount of sunlight, its branches spread wide.
"Something's happening", Moonlight said, noticing the change in environment.
They halted their walk.
"Cloud, you feel it right" Moonlight said.
"Yea, I feel it. Something's here" Cloud replied. A smile appeared on his face. His eyes were now everywhere.
The sound of leaves grew stronger. The land blocked by the trees made it hard to see. Only the trees and grasses below were visible.
But-
"Is a good thing we learnt Elro" said Cloud silently to Moonlight.
"I still have not gotten the hang of it" Moonlight replied. "But my vision is okay"
The two boys showed no signs of fear in their body. They were completely in sync. Cloud protecting Moonlight's back and Moonlight returning the favor.
The forest became quiet once more. However, the boys did not waver from their intuition. Something else was here. They felt it.
At the branches of a tree sat a creature. Above them, it watched closely with its owl-like eyes. It observed their movement closely.
ROWL, it cried. It was hit.
"Found you" Cloud shouted with a goofy smile.
The creature fell to the ground. Its size half that of Moonlight. Its body covered in black and white feathers and white fur. A hole in its body, it was bleeding dead.
"It looks like a rabbit_ no more like an owl" Cloud said, observing the creature.
"Huh"
Light dawned on them. The trees that grew now fell. Its branches reverting back to its original state. Something was wrong.
"Cloud, these creatures are Rowls. They a_" Moonlight was cut off.
Tiny footsteps erupted, shaking the ground at their march. The forest was shaken at this moment.
"Let's run!" Cloud ordered. "Pick a stone and shoot"
A horde of Rowls emerged from the bushes plunging at their prey.
The brothers ran in a straight direction, throwing stones toward the enemy.
Some were hit. Some dodged. Nevertheless, they still pursued.
They were irritated. Their minds searched for solutions.
"!" They felt a chill. They jumped due to instinct.
A vine appeared in the midst of chaos.
"Where did that__"
No time to think. One wrong move, they are dead.
"Got an idea" Cloud shouted.
He stopped and held the vine tight.
In a circular motion, he swung the vine.
A tree was uprooted.
"Cloud wait__", Moonlight called.
With a swing, Cloud wiped out everything within a twenty-meter radius excluding Moonlight.
The attack created dozens of trees that lost their beauty. Dust covered most but not all. The once green forest turned into a wasteland.
"Haajarah" Cloud laughed, standing at the center of destruction.
"See, Moonlight. This is how it is meant to be done." He continued laughing.
This part of the forest has been turned into a desolate zone, all by the strength of a kid.
"Um_ Cloud, we were supposed to observe"
"Yes. Don't you have knowledge on those Rowl" Cloud replied.
"I do but there was that vine that interfered with us" Moonlight added.
