Chapter 4 - Exchange of words in Wolf's Den

"Lucien", Elara blurted out in a a breath.

The Alpha Prince froze hearing it, his name never interested him till this day.

The day when his mate called out his name ever so softly that he almost closed his eyes hearing it.

"Where am I ?" Elara asked as she took a closer look to her surrounding,

Black walls

Black floor

Black asthetic

Black portraits

Black bed

Black duvet

The person infront of her, in a black attire.

Elara felt the darkness surrounding her as she scooted back a little and her back touched the headboard.

"This is Wolf's Den, my chamber". Lucien said trying his best to sound soft but his voice sounded like he is threatening an intruder.

"You call your room Wolf's Den?" Elara asked slightly tilting her head but coldly stared at Lucien when he said, "It sounds good and match my personality".

"I want to go back", Elara let out stubborn outside but scared inside, she was getting intimidated because of the man sitting infront of her who looked bigger in comparison with her small frame.

"You coming here wasn't any coincidence it was fate pulling you towards where you are ment to be", Lucien said ignoring Elara's words.

"You don't look like someone who believes in fate", Elara stated as she stared at Lucien's green eyes which were unsettlingly calm, like still waters hiding depths she wasn't ready to face—but couldn't look away from.

"I didn't untill today", Lucien paused to calm his inner turmoil, he knew how much he craved for the girl sitting infront of him.

He had waited for this day from past ten years, he still remember how his eyes roamed around the ballroom on his eighteenth birthday searching for his mate.

How disappointed his wolf was on not finding his mate,This was the moment he had yearned for—through restless nights and silent battles—and now that it stood before him, his heart refused to stay steady.

He wasn't letting his mate go away from him even if it ment going against the pack, his family, or his own mate.

He doesn't really ask… he commands.

"What is your name, mate?"

His voice was low, edged with authority, as if he already owned the answer—and her along with it.

"I am Elara Montclair, and what is this mate thing?" Elara asked confused, Lucien froze he didn't thought of it, how will he tell her that they both are destined to be with each other.

You are a human, I am a Werewolf and moon goddess made you my mate, you are supposed to sit beside me and rule the Nightfang pack as it's luna. Simple thing, freakin Noooo!! Lucien thought.

"Where are you lost?" Elara said bringing him back from his thoughts, "Nowhere Elara, and that mate thing it just slipped past my tongue as I didn't know how to address you".

Elara, this name she has been hearing it from twenty-three years of her existence but apart from her mother no one has ever said it with this much intensity and comfort.

Like just hearing her name from Luciens mouth healed some parts of her which even she didn't knew needed healing.

"Take rest for now, we will talk further when you are in far better condition than this", Lucien said , "My condition is good, Lucien", Elara said ignoring the ache in her back.

"Yeah, you are all well, we just have to ignore you clutching at the edge of bed to lessen your pain, you fisting your palm to stop yourself from hissing at the slightest discomfort and you trying your best to stay calm and composed when you heart is hammering in your chest, like it will jump out soon", Lucien said out with a hint of sarcasm.

"Observer much, aren't you?" Elara asked raising her brow, "For you, Always", Lucien mumbled as he got up from the bed.

"Where are you going?" Elara quickly asked when she saw him getting up, "You need rest, make yourself comfortable, we will discuss everything through when you are completely healed". Lucien said as he tried to make Elara lay down comfortably but stopped.

Hurt, Naah!!! Someone stabbed right in the chest, hell yeah!!!!

How must it feels when the person you are craving for, desiring for moves away just because you touched the duvet around her to tuck her in.

Elara looked at the hand that hung mid air when she moved back avoiding the touch, not out of discomfort but out of instinct,.

"Aahh, not much comfortable with people touching me, don't mean to offend ", Elara explained, like really explained about her actions, Surprising! Surprising because she is the same girl who didn't care to explain her grandpa why she didn't attend her mother's funeral.

"I understand, new place, new surrounding and new as well as strange people, I totally get you", Lucien said out trying his dead pan humour with his icy cold face on, which interestingly worked.

Elara smiled, a small tired curve of lips, still a smile, and Lucien internally patted his own shoulder for being the reason of that smile.

"It's scary in here", Elara eyed the surrounding.

Understand without hearing it from me, yeah she is that kind of girl.

Your subtle expressions, my understanding and actions, yeah Lucien is that kind of Man.

"I will stay here, near, on the couch, you feel at ease", Lucien assured and took another duvet from the side of the bed and moved towards the couch.

Elara layed sideways on the bed, she couldn't sleep on her back as it is wounded and the cut on her upper arm and scratch on her lower arm was on her right hand, the hand on which she generally falls asleep.

Lucien looked at the struggle of this mate to sleep comfortably, he felt that worst feeling, all he wanted was to lift his mate and make her lay on his chest.

But he didn't, not because he couldn't but because he chose not too, he had zero trust in his wolf near his mate, he knew Elara near Eryx, his wolf is complete disaster.

"Can't fall asleep?" Lucien asked staring at Elara's magnetic black doe eyes, "Yeah, new place and aching wounds, on top of that your stare is making it more difficult", Elara joked despite the sting in her back.

"Close your eyes and don't move, you will fall asleep in no time", Lucien suggested, "Will it work?" Elara asked curiously.

"Try yourself", Lucien replied and Elara rolled her eyes and closed it, following Luciens suggestion.

Moon casted a shimmery glow in the Wolf's den, Lucien layed on the couch his eyes never leaving his mates face, He couldn't help but admire Elaras face that glowed because of moonlight.

He slowly got up and with precise steps he moved towards his mate, his palm hovered her face not touching but still present.

He mumbled something and a strange light created around his palms, he brought his palm near her wounds and one by one her every wound healed and a soft sigh escaped her mouth which made his eyes soften.
