Chapter 4 page 1
Inside the carriage, the atmosphere was thick with the scent of expensive tea and the
soft, rhythmic breathing of a "Monster" at rest. Jee-shahn was sprawled across the
main seat, his long silver hair spilling over the velvet cushions like a silk waterfall. His
eyes were closed, his expression one of perfect, irritating serenity.
Beside him, Emiko and Lupa sat with the poise of queens. Lupa cradled Shin, whose
azure eyes were fixed on the window, watching the world with an intellect far beyond
his months. Kaori, Tara, and Aiko were huddled together, whispering and chuckling as
they shared travel stories, their laughter ringing out like bells.
Only Empress Yui sat in a frozen, observant silence. She gently stroked Silver, her
eagle, whose feathers were rufled in agitation. Her eyes kept darting from the
sleeping Jee-shahn to the carnage visible through the reinforced glass.
"My ladies..." Yui finally spoke, her voice thin and trembling. "Is my Lord always... like
this? Or is there a grand motive for this display? We are crossing through a literal
slaughter. These warriors are fighting to the death for their homes, and we are... we
are having a tea party."Kaori let out a lighthearted chuckle, not even looking up from her journal. "If you're
looking for a motive, my lady, you'll be looking forever. Our Lord doesn't have
'motives.' He does 'naps.' He simply loves to be careless."
Yui's breath hitched. She looked at Emiko and Lupa, who both nodded in casual
agreement. To them, this wasn't a journey through a war zone; it was just Tuesday.
The Temporary Alliance
Outside, the chaos reached a fever pitch. Two rival armies, mid-slaughter, suddenly
froze. The sight of the opulent, obsidian-black carriage—bearing the unmistakable
crest of the Empress of Terragorn—was a prize too great to ignore. The sounds of
mutual hatred vanished, replaced by a singular, unified roar.
Thousands of soldiers, once enemies, formed a temporary alliance. They turned as
one, a sea of iron and blood-lust charging toward the carriage.
"They... they're coming for us!" Yui gasped, her face turning pale as she watched the
horizon darken with soldiers.
Jee-shahn didn't move. He didn't even twitch an eyelid. "Calm down, crying lady," he
drawled, his voice a low vibration that seemed to settle the carriage's springs.
On the roof, Sora and Ryuki lounged. Sora peered over the edge, grinning. "Master!
They've noticed the Empress. They've decided to stop killing each other so they can
kill us first. Quite a 'noisy' gesture, don't you think?"
"Sora," Jee-shahn muttered. "Does it look like the noise is going to die down on its
own?"
"Not likely, Master," Sora replied. "They're roaring pretty loud for people who are
about to become fertilizer."
The Clink of Finality
Jee-shahn opened one lazy, azure eye and fixed it on Yui. "Hey, crying lady. Are these
your friends? Because they're about to become nothing more than a stain on this
field."
He didn't stand. He didn't draw a blade. He simply reached out a pale finger and
tapped the window glass.
Clink.
A wave of pure, crystalline azure energy rippled outward from the point of impact. It
wasn't a blast; it was a cosmic erasure. The wave passed through the charging
thousands like a summer breeze. In a heartbeat, the roaring stopped. The heavy thrum
of running boots vanished.
The battlefield was suddenly filled with thousands of corpses, their heads severed in
a single, clean stroke by the azure wave. The ground was no longer grass; it was a
lake of crimson.
Jee-shahn closed his eyes again. "Sora."
Sora reached down and scooped the Azure Lizard from Jee-shahn's head, hopping
onto the roof. The Lizard's eyes glowed with an unholy joy. It opened its
mouth—stretching it impossibly wide until it seemed to swallow the very sky. With
one massive, inhaling breath, the Lizard consumed every corpse, every drop of blood,
and every soul on the field.
The battlefield was left eerily clean, save for the abandoned weapons and empty suits
of armor. The Lizard, now looking a bit thicker and very satisfied, crawled back
through the window and curled up on Jee-shahn's head to sleep.
The Household's WelcomeYui sat in a state of ultra-shock, her mouth open but no words coming out. She looked
at the empty field where an army had been just seconds ago. "Is this... is this
normal?" she whispered.
Lupa, while gently pampering Shin, ofered a small, sharp smile. "Welcome to our
family, Yui."
Aiko giggled, adjusting her hat. "See? I told you. He's literally insane!"
Jee-shahn, drifting back into his 'Horizontal Cultivation,' corrected her without
opening his mouth. "I am not insane, little hat-girl. I am a peace-lover. Now be quiet...
the sun is finally at the right angle for a nap.
