Inside, Lucrezia covered her face in disbelief.
"Oh my God." She stared briefly at the door, clearly not knowing how exactly to react as Jace knocked again to be certain they could hear him.
"Boss...it's me." He said louder and Lucrezia had to move her gaze to Maverick.
Maverick, however, looked just a little impressed at Jace's stunt.
He stepped forward finally, pushing his body from the wall where he had rested earlier before going to the door and unlocking it, pulling it open to meet the consigliere's gaze.
"Smart." He complimented and gave a small nod of approval.
Jace looked up to meet his gaze halfway through the door as his eyes flickered with bewilderment, seemingly surprised that Maverick had praised him.
"Boss." He lowered his head slightly to acknowledge the praise, before darting his gaze behind Maverick to lock eyes with the brown-haired distraction that his boss had grown fond of.
