"If the name is still a no, then can we at least exchange numbers?" she pressed further.
"Are you courting me?" he asked.
"Yes…?" Eva replied. "Is there a rule against that?"
Smith smiled, his palm covering his eyes while she just stared at him, her head tilted to the side as she waited for his response.
"No," Smith finally spoke. "There's no rule that a woman can't court a man," Eva smiled when she heard that. Satisfied as if that was all she wanted to hear. "But," he added and a subtle frown tugged between her brows, "I would have preferred it to be the other way around."
Eva pressed her lips but could hide the smile that crept up her face. "You should move faster next time," she said, and he chuckled.
"Smith," he said after a pause.
"What?" Eva blinked, her brows pulled together in confusion.
"You asked for my name. It's Smith," he repeated, and she beamed.
A wide smile spread across her face. She remarked, "No longer playing hard to get, huh?"
