Chapter 36 - Chapter 36: Tsunade’s Eruption

"Is this… a miracle?"

On Orochimaru's usually cold face, a rare trace of shock surfaced.

Jiraiya burst into laughter.

"Hahaha… It's healed! It's really healed!"

But the one most shaken was Tsunade herself.

The abdomen that had been pierced clean through by Onoki's Dust Release was visibly regenerating before their eyes. Flesh knitted together at a speed the naked eye could follow. Even more astonishing was the violent medicinal energy surging through her body, making her feel as though she were overflowing with strength.

In the blink of an eye, every wound on her body had disappeared. The gaping hole in her abdomen was gone.

What replaced it was something even more terrifying—

An overwhelming torrent of chakra.

It flooded her meridians, swelling beyond control, faintly leaking out around her body.

Orochimaru's voice carried genuine disbelief.

"How is this possible? It was only a single dose. How could it produce such monstrous effects?"

Tsunade steadied her breathing. Though stunned, her mind remained sharp.

"…Heh. Looks like Ruo Feng truly understood me. I only taught him how to refine chakra, yet somehow he quietly figured out my body's condition completely. What a little rogue… heh."

Murmuring to herself, she then looked at the confused Orochimaru and Jiraiya.

"It's because of my constitution. The Senju clan inherited immense vitality and regenerative power. Even the chakra we refine carries life force. That's why I mastered medical ninjutsu so quickly—I became a top-tier medical ninja in just a few years.

"That medicine can heal injuries, yes—but it shouldn't be this terrifying. The reason it's reacting like this is because it's inside me. The overwhelming medicinal force stimulated the life force within my cells, triggering rapid cell division to repair the pierced abdomen.

"And now… the excess energy has nowhere to go. It's spilling out as chakra."

As a medical ninja, Tsunade understood her body better than anyone. Combined with Ruo Feng's earlier words, she immediately grasped what had happened.

Orochimaru's golden eyes flickered with envy.

"A bloodline limit… how enviable."

Though technically the Senju's vitality isn't classified as a formal kekkei genkai in canon, Orochimaru—obsessed with bloodlines—would naturally interpret it that way.

Jiraiya cut in impatiently.

"Enough talk. We need to break out."

Tsunade smiled faintly.

"No need to break out. I'm going to kill every last one of them outside."

As her words fell, the chakra leaking from her body intensified.

Jiraiya frowned.

"Don't be reckless. Even if your cells are overflowing with energy, extracting chakra still consumes stamina and mental strength. How long can you keep this up—"

Before he could finish—

Boom!!!

Tsunade threw a punch.

The entire hill collapsed.

The very same hill that had withstood relentless bombardment from three hundred Iwa shinobi was reduced to rubble by a single strike.

She flexed her right hand calmly.

"Who said I'm relying on chakra? I'm relying on taijutsu. With this medicine constantly fueling my cells—and the Senju life force within me—my cells will keep dividing as long as the effect lasts.

"In this state… I am unkillable.

"And chakra? Is it stronger than my fists?"

Her voice carried absolute confidence.

Then she charged out.

"Iwa bastards! You dared to chase me? All of you can die! And Ōnoki, you old fossil—come out and fight me one-on-one if you've got the guts!"

Being hunted for days, then pierced through the abdomen by the Third Tsuchikage's Dust Release—how could Tsunade swallow that humiliation?

Before, she lacked the strength.

Now?

She would repay it in blood.

Jiraiya stared, dumbfounded.

"Th-this… what kind of situation is this?!"

Orochimaru watched with burning fascination.

"I've heard of this before. It's the power Tsunade inherited from the First Hokage. They say that during battle, any wound the First sustained would heal instantly. His vitality made him an immortal on the battlefield—impossible to kill, able only to kill others.

"That black medicinal herb stimulated the same ability within Tsunade. Right now… she truly is an undying existence."

He watched as Tsunade punched an Iwa ninja into a spray of blood. Another shinobi slashed at her arm with a kunai, piercing straight through—

Yet Tsunade merely shook her arm.

The kunai flew out, stabbing its owner in return.

The wound in her arm closed instantly, not even a drop of blood spilling.

Such terrifying regeneration.

Such overwhelming vitality.

Such a monstrous body.

Orochimaru's gaze grew intoxicated.

"Immortality… how exquisite."

Jiraiya shook his head, biting his thumb.

"Fine. Let Tsunade rampage. I'll send the intel back first."

He formed hand seals.

"Summoning Jutsu!"

Bang!

A small toad appeared, ready to carry the message back to Konoha.

Outside, the earth trembled beneath Tsunade's unstoppable assault.

Tsunade's eruption on the battlefield was something Ruo Feng knew nothing about.

By the time the chaos was unfolding in the Land of Earth, he had already finished school and returned home. What had happened today weighed heavily on his mind. He needed answers.

The moment he stepped into the courtyard, he saw his grandfather calmly brewing tea.

Ruo Feng walked straight over, unable to hold back any longer.

"Grandfather… what's wrong with my eyes? Today I nearly killed the son of the Uchiha clan head."

There was clear anger in his voice. Something had surfaced out of nowhere and almost caused a disaster.

His grandfather looked up, meeting the faint scarlet still lingering in Ruo Feng's pupils.

"…These eyes. I haven't seen them in a very long time."

Ruo Feng's expression darkened.

"So you knew. You knew about these eyes… and that Father sealed his dōjutsu inside them?"

His grandfather nodded slowly.

"When you were born, your mother died from complications during childbirth. The shock drove your father to awaken the Mangekyō Sharingan."

He paused, the memory heavy.

"But after awakening it, he also developed thoughts of ending his own life. Before he did… he sealed his Mangekyō techniques inside your eyes. Then he chose to follow your mother."

Silence filled the courtyard.

"Before he died, he told me everything. He entrusted me with his Sharingan and asked me to destroy them. He also told me to make sure you would never become a shinobi."

Ruo Feng's brows furrowed.

"So… you destroyed the Sharingan. And when I was young, you restricted my access to ninja training because of Father's last request?"

His grandfather shook his head.

"Your father was never considered a prodigy among the Uchiha. His understanding of the Sharingan was limited. What he didn't realize was that if I destroyed his eyes, the sealed techniques within you would not vanish. The Mangekyō techniques and the Sharingan are connected, yes—but once sealed within you, they had already taken root.

"As for preventing you from becoming a shinobi… I did intend to follow his wishes."

He took a sip of tea, a trace of helplessness in his gaze.

"But I saw your determination. I didn't have the heart to shackle you."

Ruo Feng's eyes shifted to an envelope resting quietly on the table.

"What's that?"

"A letter your father left behind," his grandfather said softly. "He told me to give it to you when the time was right."

Ruo Feng stood abruptly.

"My life will be decided by me."

His voice was firm—unyielding.

"I don't need a letter to tell me who I should become. I don't want to read it. I don't want to know."

He turned toward his courtyard without another glance.

"I'll walk my own path."

And with that, he left the envelope untouched on the tea table.
