Chapter 45 - Chapter 45

After that, Emiya Kiritsugu began calling Irisviel von Einzbern "Ily," a nickname inspired by Shirley's name.

Shirley, also known as "Sharly."

As Shirley frequently came to help at the Emiya household, Norikata Emiya gradually made this clever and lively girl his capable assistant in research.

Part of the reason was that Shirley had a touch of magical talent, but the real reason was that Norikata Emiya's research on controlling the flow of time within living beings had a deeper purpose: to allow a person to become a Dead Apostle without the impulse to feed on blood and thus achieve immortality, giving enough time to pursue the ultimate source of his studies.

Because of the extreme danger of this research, Kiritsugu was not allowed to help.

Yet innocent and romantic Shirley believed that Norikata's research could benefit humanity, and despite the risks, she continued assisting him.

Although Kiritsugu had already been accepted by the villagers, they still felt wary of Norikata Emiya, who spent his days closed off at home conducting mysterious experiments and rarely interacting with others.

So Shirley, who often went to the Emiya household, was warned, "If you work in that house, one day you'll be corrupted by demons." This was a heavy blow to Shirley, and coupled with the fact that she could only be an assistant and could not defend her teacher, it made her feel helpless.

One night,

Shirley and Kiritsugu went to a clear, flowing river, standing together in a quiet, romantic moment.

"Kelly, what kind of adult do you want to become?" Shirley suddenly asked.

Kiritsugu gave no answer at the time, but gentle Shirley still smiled and said, "Before that, I'll always stay by your side."

It was comical to see a man in his thirties doing the things of a teenage boy.

Now it was the night of his final farewell with Shirley. Tonight, she would be turned into a Dead Apostle by Norikata Emiya's experimental medicine.

Seeing this, Kiritsugu couldn't help but close his eyes.

Just like in his childhood, he chose not to respond.

Then the scene shifted to a conversation at home with his father.

"The experiment will succeed soon, but… don't go to the village today, alright?" Norikata Emiya instructed.

He noticed a vial of medicine was missing from his laboratory.

And he had an idea of what had happened.

Shirley, having never attended elementary school and learning only from church priests in a harsh environment, relied on correspondence education to gain knowledge. By age thirteen, she had already obtained a cleric's degree—a genius.

Along with this came an intense curiosity and desire to explore everything.

Norikata Emiya couldn't help but mutter, "Curiosity killed the cat…"

Faced with his father's concern and warning, Kiritsugu couldn't help but mock himself.

He was the only person his father truly trusted and cared about…

And yet… hehe.

Meanwhile,

Haruka Kasugano realized he could control the speed of this dreamscape.

He slowed down the actions of Kiritsugu and Black Irisviel, taking advantage of the time difference to reach Shirley's residence.

Having stolen Norikata Emiya's medicine, Shirley was desperate to take it, hoping to prove the success of his experiment.

But clearly, the medicine was still incomplete, and she writhed in discomfort on her bed.

It seemed she could become a Dead Apostle at any moment.

"Hi there, big sister~!" Haruka Kasugano greeted as he entered.

"You are…?" Shirley asked, puzzled.

"I'm Kelly's good friend~! Good friends have to share their childhood friends, right?" Haruka Kasugano teased playfully.

"Ah?" Though her body was in pain, Shirley was shocked by his words.

But the next moment, she no longer cared about the pain or the questions.

Because she was already in Haruka Kasugano's arms, and only endless pleasure awaited her.

Shirley had long, black hair, and her eyes, like autumn oranges, were warm and bright, radiating boundless vitality and passion.

She was a gem of the South Pacific, her racial features perfectly displayed.

Her skin had a healthy tan, as if kissed by the sun, exuding a unique sensual charm.

Her figure was impeccable, with long limbs and elegant curves; every detail radiated feminine grace.

Shirley's everyday attire was simple yet beautiful; a ponytail gently held her hair, showcasing the graceful lines of her neck.

Her image was strikingly similar to that of a young Fujimura Taiga, both radiating a unique youthful energy.

"Ahhh~!" Shirley cheered under Haruka Kasugano's massage.

Then, Haruka Kasugano embraced Shirley's waist, savoring her tanned skin.

She was also a virgin, initially quite clumsy.

But under Haruka Kasugano's patient guidance, she began to become more proactive.

She even started to take the initiative, lying on Haruka Kasugano and automatically swaying her hips.

"Hehe, great~!" Haruka Kasugano laughed.

...

On Kiritsugu's side.

Having completed the storyline involving his father, Norikaze Emiya, Black Irisviel waved her hand, and the scene shifted to the next day.

Kiritsugu Emiya ran to the village to see Shirley.

Shirley had become a Dead Apostle, unable to suppress her vampire urges, and was killing chickens to drink their blood.

Shirley saw it was Kiritsugu Emiya and threw him the dagger given to her by the Church, urging him to kill her.

Black Irisviel laughed from the side, "What would you choose now?"

Of course, the young Kiritsugu Emiya chose to back down.

This led to the destruction of the entire village, planting the seed in Kiritsugu's heart:

"Kill the few (Shirley and her father) to save the many (the villagers)!"

Therefore, when faced with this choice again, he unhesitatingly chose to kill Shirley.

He threw the dagger with one hand, aiming for Shirley's neck.

Black Irisviel, wanting to manipulate Kiritsugu Emiya in this way, wore a smug expression.

But the next second...

Shirley, who was originally designated as an NPC and would never resist, suddenly bent down, dodging Kiritsugu Emiya's flying knife like in The Matrix.

Then she did a backflip and landed in Haruka Kasugano's arms.

Kiritsugu Emiya and Black Irisviel were completely dumbfounded.

They had no idea why Haruka Kasugano was there.

Black Irisviel tried to drive Haruka Kasugano away, but she found herself losing control of the dream, even experiencing a sharp pain in her lower abdomen, as if suppressed by some bloodline.

Meanwhile, Haruka Kasugano grabbed Shirley's plump breast and bit her earlobe.

Shirley then showed a very shy expression.

"Hehe, Kiritsugu Emiya, your childhood sweetheart is really something~!" Haruka Kasugano licked Shirley's cheek while teasing her.

"Ahhh~~!" Shirley squirmed in Haruka Kasugano's arms.

But she still gave Kiritsugu Emiya a gentle expression.

"Kelly, don't look, don't look~! Kelly, even though I'm so pathetic, my heart only belongs to you~!"

Kiritsugu Emiya: "..."

--------

"You bastard... are you trying to provoke me that much?" Kiritsugu Emiya feigned composure, watching his first love squirming in Haruka Kasugano's arms, ignoring her, and asked in a low voice.

"Hehehe, I just wanted to tease you a little~!" Haruka Kasugano laughed.

"It's clearly your own incompetence that you're taking your anger out on such a cute girl, how ridiculous!"

"..."Emiya Kiritsugu lowered his head sullenly, then questioned, "Because I was soft-hearted back then... that's why the whole village became Dead Apostles, that's why they were wiped out by the Holy Church and the Clock Tower..."

"If I had been as resolute as I was just now on the day I killed my father, wouldn't I have essentially saved the entire village?"

"Killing one person to ensure the safety of hundreds, isn't that a good deal?"

Haruka Kasugano continued to stroke Shirley's thigh, laughing, "So you killed your own father because you thought of that? Because only by killing your father could you prevent the next 'Shirley,' and thus prevent the next village massacre?"

Emiya Kiritsugu nodded, saying, "Exactly, I—"

"Absurd." Haruka Kasugano interrupted him, directly cursing.

"This whole mess was caused by Shirley stealing your father's medicine. Why should your father pay the price? Your father always experimented on small animals; he never harmed anyone!"

"And yet he was killed because of your absurd ideas. He might not have been a good person, but—you're a beast!"

"And Shirley's inability to control her vampire urges, leading to the entire village turning into Dead Apostles, was indeed wrong, but that's not a reason for the magecraft to kill them, is it?"

"They were killed simply because the magecraft and cultists wouldn't tolerate the existence of such vile beings as Dead Apostles!"

"In other words, you agree with the magecraft'..." "He sees the unfair laws of the world, yet he seeks justice within them."

"Don't you ever think that if the magecraft and cultists didn't discriminate against the Dead Apostles, the massacre wouldn't have happened?"

"Aren't those magecraft and cultists your greatest targets of hatred? Why do you think it's Shirley and your father's fault?"

"Do you think they're easy to bully?"

Hearing Haruka Kasugano's words, Emiya Kiritsugu was stunned for several seconds before finally shouting, "But the Dead Apostles are inherently harmful; they kill and eat people..."

"Then why don't you research methods to suppress the Dead Apostles' blood-sucking urges?" Haruka Kasugano smiled.

"This..." Emiya Kiritsugu was stunned.

He was completely bewildered by Haruka Kasugano.

According to his previous thinking, eliminating the Dead Apostles would ensure the safety of most people in the world, adhering to the principle of killing a minority to save the majority.

But this premise denied the Dead Apostles' right to live.

It acknowledged that the magecraft who massacred the village were righteous.

But... do the Dead Apostles deserve to die?

Why not research methods to make them safe? Why did you reject the idea from the start?

"Think about it carefully, this seems to be the research your father dedicated his life to! Now that you think about it, compared to you, this bastard who only slaughters the Dead Apostles, your father is more like a champion of justice, more like a savior, more like a saint who solves injustice!" Haruka Kasugano continued to mock.

"You wouldn't have rejected your father's research and resolutely hunted down the Dead Apostles all over the world because you killed your saintly father, would you?"

Bang bang bang bang—

Emiya Kiritsugu broke down again, emptying his magazine on Haruka Kasugano once more.

NPC Shirley was riddled with bullets by Emiya Kiritsugu.

Taking advantage of this opportunity, Black Irisviel regained some control and banished Haruka Kasugano from the dream.

Immediately afterwards, she changed the scene, bringing the scene to the day Emiya Kiritsugu killed his adoptive mother, Natalia Kaminski.

Seeing the change in scenery, Kiritsugu Emiya regained his composure; he had just wanted to devour Haruka Kasugano.

Meanwhile, Haruka Kasugano, after being expelled from the dream by Black Irisviel, tried to enter it again.

He discovered that his ability to interfere with dreams was unaffected; he could still freely enter and exit the dream.

However, upon entering the dream again, he found the scene different.

This time, he was in the cockpit of an airplane.

The next second, a tall, voluptuous woman with an alluring aura rushed in and slammed the cockpit door shut.

If Haruka Kasugano wasn't mistaken, she was none other than Kiritsugu Emiya's mentor and adoptive mother, Natalia Kaminski!
