Chapter 54 - Act 2 Chapter 14 — Trying to maintain

Fortunately, Infori quickly ducked his head just in time, so the deadly attack only grazed his brown hair.

Realizing he had an opportunity, Infori didn't let it slip away.

(Chance!)

Infori immediately made his second move, blocking Dimsk's right hand, which was holding the sword, with his left hand, further impeding the movement of Dimsk's right arm.

"...!" Dimsk was shocked.

Then Infori clenched his right fist and punched Dimsk in the face with such force that he stumbled backward and even let go of his sword.

"Ack!"

The sword nearly fell to the ground, but Infori quickly grabbed the hilt with great force, giving him a proper weapon for hand-to-hand combat.

He realized something.

"Wow."

Infori realized the weight of the sword he was now carrying, which was why he was holding the hilt with both hands.

(Pretty heavy, huh.)

Dimsk, who had previously retreated several steps from where he was hit by Infori, quickly regained his balance and saw Infori holding the weapon he had been holding.

"..."

He was panting slightly, but began to catch his breath. Dimsk then opened his right palm downwards and channeled some of his energy to summon a jet-black, one-handed longsword. It was a traditional, straight, single-edged sword.

He gripped the hilt of the sword, a sight that made Infori even more wary of his enemy's movements.

"..."

Because he would never have found such power in the Overworld, in any city, or even in any region.

Perhaps a technique like summoning a sword wasn't surprising enough for Infori, since Flynn used the same method to summon his sword.

Then, Dimsk suddenly said to Infori,

"Hey, you have the ability to swing a sword, right?"

"Yeah, of course I can."

"Haha..." Dimsk chuckled, then replied, "Then this might be interesting."

"So what? Are you afraid to fight a Nephilim who is far below you?" Infori asked with a faint smile that betrayed his confidence.

"Why would I be afraid of someone who has previously retreated from battle!"

Without hesitation, Dimsk immediately ran towards Infori. Infori immediately did the same, both staring at each other, each wielding their own weapons in the same manner, but with different techniques.

Dimsk swung his sword vertically.

"Heh!"

However, Infori swung his two-handed sword horizontally.

"Haaa..!"

This caused the two blades to clash on the expanse of the path of destiny, causing a wave of aura from the collision of the two blades to spread throughout Infori's path of destiny.

SWANG!

The clash of blades also slightly shook the surrounding fate lines, which was felt by the other Infori and Noya himself.

"..."

Both remained completely silent, doing nothing but observing the battle that was beginning to intensify before them.

The two blades clashed fiercely on the expanse of fate, both pressing against each other to break their opponent's defenses.

"Nggh!"

"It seems you're not used to long swords, huh?" Dimsk remarked, judging Infori's apparent difficulty in maintaining his position.

"..."

"Then this is my lucky chance!" he said, thrusting his sword forward with all his might, sending a powerful force through Infori's body, knocking him back several steps.

"Nggh!"

However, Dimsk didn't stop there. Dimsk leaped forward and slashed at Infori. With a single breath, Infori pushed his feet backward.

"...!"

Eliminating the attack skillfully, but as he stepped back onto the expanse of his destiny, he stepped forward, drawing his sword.

Dimsk, unable to parry or retreat, chose to move his entire body, allowing Infori's blade to graze against his dark sword.

Realizing that the draw was ineffective, Infori immediately stepped back, avoiding a direct attack from his enemy.

Dimsk was impressed by Infori's skillful swordsmanship.

"Not bad for a teenage Nephilim like you," he said, but he wouldn't give him any chances. "But let's see how far you can hold out!" With that, Dimsk walked and then ran toward Infori.

Seeing this, Infori prepared to meet his attack. And sure enough, Dimsk lunged forward, launching a slash aimed at his neck. However, Infori parried it.

Forcing Dimsk to retreat momentarily, Infori then lunged forward to slash at his defense. Without hesitation, Infori parried it decisively, causing the two blades to clash again.

"Tch...!"

However, Dimsk drew his sword back, not to surrender, but to thrust it back towards his opponent's stomach. However, Infori's instincts were still working, so he parried it by moving his opponent's blade upward, giving himself a golden opportunity.

"Damn it...!"

With a single decision, Infori immediately swung his sword horizontally at Dimsk's body.

Dimsk tried to avoid the attack by pushing his body backward. This was successful, but part of Infori's blade grazed his shirt.

After retreating, Dimsk glanced at his chest, which bore a small scratch from Infori's attack.

"...!"

Infori suddenly spoke.

"What's wrong? Are you scared now? Just because of a small scratch on your shirt?"

"I would never say I'm afraid of a Nephilim who's still so immature!" he replied, charging swiftly, giving him a moment to be right next to Infori.

"...!" Infori barely had time to react, as Dimsk suddenly slashed his sword, shattering his defense.

CLANG!

"Tch...!"

However, Infori didn't expect anything to happen when Dimsk delivered a back kick that struck Infori squarely in the stomach.

"Arrggh!"

This caused Infori's body to finally deviate from its path of destiny, and it fell off its path.

This startled the other Infori and they cried out his name. "Infori!" It also elicited a noticeable reaction from Noya, whose eyes widened briefly. He, too, was shocked to see Infori deviate from his own path of destiny. (Infori deviated from his path of destiny... That means...)
