A serious roast is the most lethal one.
An invisible blade pierced Theresa's heart.
The principal could no longer get back up.
Following Otto, the Overseer of Schicksal,
St. Freya's principal Theresa… had fallen.
Everyone in the chat started discussing and proposing theories:
parallel worlds, quantum mechanics, Schrödinger's cat, Otto's experiments…
But nothing could be confirmed. In the end they set it aside for later discussion.
There wasn't much useful information anyway—just the principal's black history.
And really, was Theresa short on embarrassing pasts?
More importantly, the quiz had already begun.
After what happened to Amber and Otto earlier, everyone understood:
unless you're the one who answers correctly, everyone else risks punishment.
[Question 6: Natasha Cioara, also known as Raven, a member of World Serpent and nicknamed the "Black Dodo," why does she regard Kiana as a mortal enemy she must kill?]
A: Kiana once complained about Raven's cooking.
B: The person Raven cares about has Kiana in their heart.
C: Raven was a victim of the Second Honkai Eruption.
D: Raven's lifelong wish was completely destroyed by Kiana.
"Huh? Another question about me? I feel like I show up way too often," Kiana scratched her cheek, troubled.
[TL note: maybe because your the main character]
"And I don't even know this 'Black Dodo.' No memory at all."
"Kiana, you already stole the Black Dodo's lover and now you say you don't know her?
I don't have such a shameless niece," Theresa joked, recovering her spirits.
"Mei, you'd better keep an eye on Kiana. A woman who plays both sides isn't someone you can trust your future to."
She'd realized something:
she was already socially dead and the butt of everyone's jokes.
So to escape the embarrassment, the only move left… was to drag someone else down with her.
Kiana, forgive me. Blame this socially-dead world.
Raiden Mei blushed hard. Her relationship with Kiana was currently more than friends but not quite lovers. Close… but not that kind of close yet.
Now that Theresa brought it up, the balance Mei tried to maintain suddenly felt very heavy.
"Auntie, that's impossible. I like soft, warm girls," Kiana declared seriously, making a bold yuri statement.
"Not necessarily. What if Raven is also into girls? Maybe the little tuna got flustered and tried to flirt with someone already taken," Bronya deadpanned.
"I'm devoted to Mei!"
"If Raven also likes Sister Mei, then you're love rivals," Bronya replied.
"I see. Then I won't let Mei be taken from me." Kiana's expression turned determined.
"Kiana… Bronya…" Mei laughed awkwardly, cheeks red.
"You youngsters don't understand the charm of men," the mature Himeko commented knowingly.
Fu Hua watched the conversation drift into yuri territory and a huge question mark appeared over her head.
Wasn't this supposed to be about answering the question?
Shouldn't they focus?
Weren't they worried about punishment at all?
So what if your chest is big…
Clutching her chest, Fu Hua felt strangely defeated.
Theresa simply smiled quietly, hiding her contribution.
"Black Dodo, huh? Nice nickname, Raven.
Want me to update your file? I rarely do things for free," said Jackal, dressed in heavy Egyptian-style clothing and wearing an Anubis mask, after hearing Raven relay the question.
"Want to lose your head? I can help with that," Raven replied coldly.
What kind of ridiculous nickname was "Black Dodo"? She absolutely did not accept it.
"Raven, why do you see Kiana as a mortal enemy?" Gray Serpent focused on the question.
As a fanatic follower of Kevin Kaslana, he wouldn't miss any chance that might bring Kevin back from the Sea of Quanta—even this absurd quiz system.
Raven withdrew her attention from the chaotic chat and thought for a moment.
"In the year 2000, when the Herrscher of the Void core went out of control, massive Honkai energy flooded all of Siberia. Many people died. I was one of the survivors. My old life was destroyed in the Second Honkai Eruption. After barely surviving, Gray Serpent brought me into World Serpent."
Jackal glanced at Gray Serpent, who nodded.
Most World Serpent members had been recruited by him, so their background info was reliable.
"Kiana Kaslana's identity, according to the video, is the new vessel for the Herrscher of the Void in Otto's 'Sirin Plan'…"
"I see. So it's inherited hatred," Jackal said, understanding.
Otto's plan was to use bonds and emotions to obtain a Herrscher on humanity's side.
Even if she believed it inferior to World Serpent's Stigmata plan, she had to admit its feasibility.
As for emotions and human rights, she didn't care.
From Raven's perspective, Jackal had already deduced the reason for the hatred.
Kiana might know nothing. Her life, feelings, and future were all manipulated by Otto.
But so what?
Having the Herrscher core and consciousness inside her was already original sin.
If she inherited the power and identity, she also inherited the sins.
And Raven was one of the prices of that sin.
Jackal nodded, satisfied with her reasoning.
"So the answer is C?"
Gray Serpent didn't commit. As a collective consciousness network hacker, emotional analysis wasn't his strength.
"Let me think a bit more," Raven said.
The question said she viewed Kiana as a mortal enemy.
But now that she knew Kiana was the Herrscher of the Void, she didn't actually feel that much hatred.
Kiana was basically a stranger—someone she'd kill on sight if necessary, but not to an extreme.
So C was probably wrong.
Raven's silence made others nervous, remembering Theresa earlier.
Rita: Based on the Overseer's suggestion, eliminate D first. She was punished once—her stocks crashed and half her assets were locked. I still remember the Black Dodo's despair.
Einstein: Though I hate to admit it, Otto's logic was right. Someone in World Serpent probably has unimaginable wealth, so losing half would be devastating.
Kiana: But what does that have to do with me? Also, isn't Otto supposed to be working overtime?
Amber: The Overseer has temporarily increased his work efficiency above Secretary Ganyu's… ten documents per minute. I'm very pleased.
Theresa: !!!
Tesla: Ignore Otto, Kiana. Birdbrain means that even if all the money went to you, you still couldn't spend it all.
Einstein: That sounds more like Tesla.
Tesla: What do you mean by that, birdbrain?!
Rita: Right. Of the remaining options:
A (complaining about cooking) is clearly a distraction.
C (victim of the Second Honkai) would cause hatred toward the Herrscher of the Void, but you're not Sirin herself. That alone wouldn't make you a mortal enemy.
Kiana: So I just gained an enemy for no reason?
Bronya: Correct.
Despite the chaotic chat, Raven wasn't rushed.
She now had a baseline from everyone's logic.
This question gave her a big advantage—she just had to put herself in the situation.
Which of the remaining options would truly make her hate Kiana?
"Complained about my cooking… that's oddly annoying," Raven muttered.
Be grateful you get food at all.
But the kids had reminded her: she wanted them to smile someday and say, "Teacher, your cooking is delicious."
"As for having someone I care about… me? That's hard to imagine."
Option B felt unbelievable. Unless someone ended the Honkai, gave her a private island villa, helped raise the children, cooked well, survived life-and-death battles together,
and beat her in a fight…
Listing all her conditions, Raven didn't think anyone could meet them.
So love? Probably impossible. Still, keep it as a possibility.
"My lifelong dream… to buy a private island, build a big house, and live peacefully with the children…"
Raven imagined it. Then remembered her assets had already been cut in half. Her expression darkened.
Kiana ruining her dream… surely it wasn't because Kiana took her money, invested in stocks, and lost everything…
