Chapter 122 - Crimson Rain

The sky wasn't supposed to bleed, but the giant armored dropships tearing through the clouds didn't care about the weather.

A violent, unnatural crimson light dyed the entire bioluminescent forest in the color of fresh wounds. The trees shook to their roots as three massive black pods slammed into the clearing ahead, the impact throwing a wall of dirt and burning moss into the air. Before the dust could even settle, the pods split open with a wet, heavy hiss.

The things that crawled out were eight feet tall, their entire bodies wrapped in thick, jagged armor plating that looked like shiny obsidian glass. They didn't have faces, just long, twitching antennas and rows of iron sharp legs that clicked against the stone with a blinding speed.

"They're moving!" Megan yelled, her hands trembling slightly as she drew her standard issue blade.
