(Sapphire's POV)
"What was that about?" I asked Damian as soon as we reached the car.
He didn't look at me, "what do you mean, wife?"
"You threatened a man and the next minute, you're gifting him? And what's worse, he's the father of the woman who would obviously kill me to have you."
Damian chuckled dryly. "Are you jealous, Sapphire?"
"What? Me? No!" The reply came too fast.
He chuckled again, "if you say so, but let me tell you why Mira thinks we were meant to be…" he adjusted my seatbelt for me, then proceeded to do same with his.
"Drive." He tapped the roof of the car and the driver got the message.
"Baron Alvin was my father's best friend and my closest uncle, because though not my blood, he treated me even better than my father. And I love him dearly. Now, Mira thinks we are destined to be together but I strongly disagree with her belief."
