Chapter 4 - Chapter 3 - Move Out

Soaking blood in my hand, my weak, fragile body lying, waiting to die.

Death will come for me in this cold, dark dungeon.

I don't want to die.

Dying in this place, alone—I don't want to die.

Somebody, please save me.

Please, somebody save me. I don't want to die.

Now all my dreams come to a sad end.

One day ago,

the Hero Association transmitted the message:

"THE GATE HAS RECENTLY OPENED NEAR THE HANSEJJIU CONSTRUCTION SITE."

"OUR DEPARTMENT NETWORK, INVESTIGATE THAT THERE IS NO MAJOR DISTORTION."

"B-RANK GATE RAID. TEMPORARY PORTER NEEDED. CARRY EQUIPMENT, RECOVERY SUPPLIES, SPARE WEAPONS, AND LOOT. ONE DAY CONTRACT."

Tae Jun stared at the screen for a long time.

The amount given was enough to cover the electricity bills, Seiha's school bills, and grocery expenses for a week.

High risk. High return.

That alone made him decide to click it.

The next morning, it was raining in Seoul.

Tae Jun stood outside the HUNTER ASSOCIATION EASTERN ENTRANCE, wearing outdated gloves, old boots, and a rented vest that was slightly bigger than him.

Around him, hunters were moving, laughing, and checking weapons and mana.

It felt like he didn't belong to this world.

A voice suddenly came from behind him.

"You're Tae Jun, right? Porter."

Tae Jun turned and saw a tall man with short hair and a massive shield strapped to his back. He was in his late twenties.

His name was Han Dae Sik, the B-Rank Tank Type.

Tae Jun bowed quickly. "Yes, sir."

Dae Sik gave him an annoyed look.

"You are skinnier than I expected."

Before Tae Jun could answer, another voice cut in.

"Leave the kid alone."

A woman stepped forward from beside a black van, adjusting the gloves on her hands.

She had long dark hair tied in a ponytail, sharp cat-like eyes, and twin daggers hanging at her waist.

She was Yoon Se Ah, Assassin Type / B-Rank.

"You're just carrying our things. Don't die, and we'll get along."

Tae Jun blinked. "I'll do my best."

"Wrong answer, kid," she said. "Don't you die on us."

A man in a dark blue coat stepped in front of him.

He was handsome in a way that immediately took your attention. Unlike the others, he didn't carry visible armor, just a long sword at his side.

But the moment he walked closer, Tae Jun felt it.

A strong pressure of mana—sharper and denser.

"Porter?"

Tae Jun nodded. "Yes, sir."

The man gave a small, unreadable smile.

"I'm Choi Min Gyu, leader of the raid."

Tae Jun bowed again. "I'll work hard, sir."

He said softly, "That's the guts, kid."

In a loud voice, Choi Min Gyu said, "Today we're here to clear the gate in Seoul, Hansejjiu Construction Site."

"Let's go and loot the dungeon."

When they reached the Hansejjiu Construction Site, they found a glowing portal in the middle of the raid zone, completely surface in ripples of unstable mana.

Choi Min Gyu looked at the team and said, "Move out."
