"Run?"

V looked at Jax, her fangs bared, her emerald eyes flashing. She shouted, "Aren't you a big shot?"

"Hurry up and think of something!"

"A big shot?" Jax looked at the two corporate cars. They had the classic car sandwiched, like cheese, front and back.

"Alright, V, even if I am the 'big shot' you claim, why would you think corporate dogs would listen to me? If you don't want your car to be totaled, then run."

V was actually already turning the steering wheel. She didn't turn her head to look at Jax, but rather to look at the direction behind her.

Tires screeched, leaving charred marks on the road. Amidst the piercing and foul smell of burning rubber, V sharply turned the steering wheel and reversed, darting out just before the two corporate cars could fully sandwich her.

"Where to now?!" V yelled loudly.

She knew it, she just knew it wouldn't be that simple!

But to run into corporate dogs right off the bat, honestly, isn't the difficulty a bit too high?

Damn it, what exactly was being transported in there?

"Wherever you want, V, as long as we can shake them off," Jax said.

Jax wasn't panicked. These corporate dogs were clearly the most common kind, completely incomparable to Agent Xiaolin whom he had encountered before.

To be honest, Jax even felt that this group hadn't installed advanced combat cyberware. Although for corporations, cyberware wasn't expensive, especially for Militech, whose main business was producing these things.

But it's not like every corporate employee would have them installed, right?

There's still a threshold for this stuff, okay? Because of this, if Jax wanted to solve the problem right now, he could just get out of the car and quickly take care of these corporate dogs.

However... Jax decided to see what V would do.

He was really curious about V's combat power when she was starting from scratch, without any advanced cyberware installed.

"Go to hell!" Hearing Jax's words, V cursed loudly. An idea sparked in her mind: to reach out and press Jax's head, then make him see the top speed of her car!

Damn it, not to mention her car had been driven in the Badlands for so long and already had many damaged parts, even when it was in perfect condition, it would be impossible to outrun those two cars, right?

What a joke!

An old classic car that had been used for who knows how many years in the Badlands, how could it compare to the specialized vehicles of corporate dogs?

"Boom!"

But V didn't hesitate. She swerved, stomped on the gas, and crashed through the guardrail, driving the car directly into the wilderness.

"V, honestly, your choice isn't a good idea," Jax said with a chuckle from the side.

"Your car's off-road performance can't compare to theirs. I think we'll be caught very soon."

"If you have time for such sarcastic remarks, you'd better think of a solution!" V spared a glance at Jax, then quickly reached out her right hand, flipped open a cover, and pulled out a pistol.

"Take this!" V's small hand extended, directly stuffing the pistol into Jax's lap.

"What does this mean?"

"You go shoot them!" V said.

Jax blinked: "They're corporate people, V. Are you sure you want to attack them?"

"I don't care who they are! So what if they're corporate people? If they hinder me from completing my mission, then they all deserve to die!" V declared, then, seeing Jax examining the pistol, she was furious. Unbuckling her seatbelt, she shouted loudly:

"Damn it, you're really slow. You're afraid to shoot, aren't you? Fine, then I'll do it!"

"You drive!"

With that, V held the steering wheel with one hand, grabbed Jax's hand with the other, and then yanked Jax towards her.

With that pull, V froze, blinking at Jax.

What was going on?

Her strength couldn't pull an unmodified person?

Are you kidding me?

Although she was also unmodified, without cyberware, V knew how strong she was. In her family, in strength competitions, despite physical mismatches, she was stronger than many men.

As the people in her family used to say, V was a 'monster strength girl', but now, she actually couldn't pull a guy who looked so weak?!!!

"You drive, or we'll both die if we lose control!" V said again, while her butt was already off the seat, scrambling towards the passenger side.

Seeing this, Jax complied with V's decision, getting up and scrambling towards the driver's seat.

While switching positions, V also activated autonomous driving, but the car's system was too old, and the route was rigid. If they really kept using autonomous driving, this old wreck could turn back and drive directly onto the main road, which would be no different from delivering themselves straight to the corporate dogs.

For this level of classic car... don't expect its AI to compare to Delamain's.

And during the process of switching positions, Jax confirmed his thoughts.

Mhm, V's backside was indeed excellent, firm yet elastic. Wrapped in thick pants, one could still feel its roundness with a slight touch.

Once they had switched positions, Jax drove the car, and V, holding the pistol, took a deep breath to steel herself. She then leaned out of the car window and fired at the corporate cars chasing them.

But clearly, V's efforts were futile. How could the armor of a corporate dog's car be penetrated by a small pistol?

Seeing V dare to retaliate, the corporate dogs drove their cars, opened their sunroofs, and several drones buzzed out, each with multiple barrels no smaller than pistol caliber, chasing after them from behind.

"Is this really necessary?!" V shouted upon seeing this.

What the hell did she transport?

No, when she transported this guy, the Fixer never said there would be this level of danger!

Or is Night City just like this?

Or... was she screwed over again?

How much money would she get for this gig?

Only a few thousand!

But this few thousand gig had not only gotten her involved with corporate dogs, but now she was also being chased and shot at by drones?

What a joke!

For a moment, V was almost laughing in anger.

"Jax, don't shake the car so much! If I get thrown out, you're screwed too!"

V, with half her body out the window, warned him. Squinting, she risked being hit by drone bullets and aimed at the flying, swaying drones.

The next moment, pulling the trigger, V accurately hit the drones.

Pistol bullets couldn't penetrate the corporate car's armor, but that didn't mean they couldn't penetrate these drones!

In just a blink of an eye, V shot down three drones.

Jax was somewhat surprised by this.

V had absolutely no cyberware installed. As a Nomad, V didn't even have something like a brain-computer interface, making her even more 'unmodified' than Jax.

Because of this, V's aim at the drones was purely based on her own abilities; her marksmanship and skill were truly maxed out.

Before this, Jax only knew Jackie could do such a thing, but Jackie's gun practice definitely involved using chips. What about V?

Her dynamic vision, her reaction time... indeed, they far surpassed ordinary people.

The next moment, V quickly ducked back into the car, dodging the bullets fired by the drones, but the classic car's rear window had already been shot through.

Seeing this, V quickly hunched down, crouching low.

And watching Jax still sitting upright and driving, she was so angry she wanted to bite Jax directly.

Was this person scared silly?

If he got hit by a stray bullet... Damn it, she didn't have the habit of carrying medicine with her!

Because she couldn't afford it!

Grabbing Jax's shirt at the chest, V pulled him down with force.

As a result, the collar of his shirt was torn, but Jax still sat upright.

"You—" V was truly laughing in anger.

Jax, however, looked at V. V was crouched as low as possible, curled into a ball, her bright emerald eyes looking at him, her small face flushed with sweat, grinding her teeth as she stared at him.

Seeing this, Jax swerved the steering wheel, driving the car directly into a deserted junkyard in the suburbs.

Continuing to play around would be inappropriate. If they weren't in the car, but in another place, Jax believed V could handle these corporate dogs.

But they were currently in the car, and V had no cyberware installed.

Jax didn't have to worry about these things. With his current physical strength, he would certainly be injured if hit by a bullet, but as long as it wasn't a large-caliber, extremely lethal weapon, Jax could withstand it with his bare flesh.

At most, the bullet would get embedded in his flesh, and he'd have surgery to remove it later.

But what about V?

Even with her excellent physical condition, she couldn't possibly block bullets, nor could she remain unharmed if the car exploded.

Stopping the car, Jax honked the horn, then looked at the bewildered V.

With a smile, Jax said, "V, welcome to Night City!"

V, with her eyes wide open: "?"
