Lizzy and Phantom played with the children while Vaelis slept. As soon as the unicorn shifter was awake, the pair handed him the children and began their journey towards the village. Lizzy sighed, thinking of the dim [Beast Shards] in her inventory and wondering how many winter supplies they could trade them for. It was very clear that between the kids, her pregnancy, and two very active males that they would need anything additional they could get. That included seeds to plant within the main cave area of the den. Between all the magical gifts of her small family, they could probably grow things year round. But that was a strong probably and she didn't want to risk her family going hungry in the meantime.
They left the children with Vaelis.
The unicorn shifter had said little when asked—but his quiet nod had been enough. He remained near the den's edge as Lizzy and Phantom prepared to leave, his presence calm but watchful.
"They'll be safe," he said simply.
