Bethany's P O V
After settling down in my class, I was amazed by the students in this pack. They were disciplined and well-behaved. They were so serious about their studies, unlike the students of my previous school. The students from my old school were ill-mannered and irresponsible. I wish my new schoolmates were good at heart, too.
After two continuous classes, I was a bit tired. It is my free period, and I don't know anyone here, so I decided to visit the library to spend my free time there. As soon as I left my class, I met with Page. Her face lit up after seeing me.
"Hey Bethany, where are you going?" she asked me after hooking her hand with mine. 'Isn't she a bit clingy?' I asked in my mind. But maybe I am overthinking because of my past incidents.
"I am going to find the library as this is my free period and I have no other things to do," I replied to her.
"Let's go to the library together. I also don't have any classes right now," she said with her signature smile. I had no other choice but to follow her. On our way to the Library, she kept talking about several things: the pack and the school. I was sure she was a very talkative person, but good at heart.
We were in the library, going through some old books, when we heard a loud voice yelling at someone in front of the library.
"Who is yelling like that?" I asked, being curious.
"That's Viola's voice. She's a bitch. Make sure to stay far away from her and her minions," she warned me.
"Who is this Viola?" I asked again.
"She's the queen B of the school and thinks herself superior to others," she explained with hatred on her face. I think she has a bitter past with this Viola girl.
The rest of the day went smoothly, and kind of like this school and specifically Page. She's such a sweet girl. It was time for the training. All students were supposed to go to the school grounds. When we reached there, I saw Mom was already walking to the training ground with Alpha Alex and Beta Eric.
"What is the Alpha and his Beta doing here?" I didn't realize that I told this louder than I thought. But Page heard me, and she expanded to me.
"Alpha Alex comes here every day to help with the training. He made training compulsory for all students regardless of their age or gender," Page stated, then rushed to the ground. I was shocked by this new information. There are a few Alphas who allow females to train, let alone students. I think Alpha Alex is the only one. I saw a beautiful girl trying to talk to Alpha Alex, but he ignored her.
"Who is that girl?" I asked to page.
"She is Viola. The Queen bee I was talking about this morning," she said while looking at the Viola girl with disdain.
"Let me tell you a secret," Page nudged on my shoulder.
"What secret?" I asked, raising a brow.
"You saw that Viola running around the Alpha right now?" she asked me while observing around us. Maybe she was checking if anyone was listening to our conversation. I just nodded to her and waited for her to carry on.
"Viola has a crush on Alpha Alex. That's why she thinks herself superior and bullies everyone who tries to be close to the Alpha," she whispered. I felt a pang in my heart. Why am I feeling jealous of that Viola? He's not my mate. Moreover, he's so handsome and charming, it's normal for girls to swoon over him.
"So what do you think about the things with Alpha Alex? Does he also like her? And that's why support her to bully others?" I asked, a bit pissed.
"Alpha Alex is a fair person. Though he's ruthless, he never tolerates bullying. Besides, he doesn't have any idea about what Viola does with others," she explained. It was obvious that she was being honest, and she respected her Alpha a lot. I watched Alpha Alex talking with Mom, as if they were discussing something important. His hairs were disheveled by the air. He was looking so charming
"Alpha Alex is so young. When did he take over the alpha position? Did his father step down early?" I asked Page without taking my eyes off the Alpha.
"No, he killed his father and took over the pack when he was only seventeen," I turned my face to meet Page's eyes, observing if she was telling the truth. I was literally shocked after hearing that. What sane person can kill his father? And the pack members accepted him after all of this?
"I know what you are thinking. But trust the entire pack is happy for the death of his cruel father. That man was a monster. He treated women like animals and loved to kill the pack members. He even killed his mate and his second wife," Page explained to me.
I was still dwelling on my thoughts when Page whispered in excitement.
"Why is he coming this way?" she mumbled, looking the other way. I followed her eyes and saw Beta Eric walking towards us.
I was shocked to see him stop in front of me.
"Hi Bethany," he said with a smile. I never noticed, but his smile was breathtaking. I felt my face becoming red due to blushing.
"Hi," I replied with a shy smile.
"How was your first day at school?" he asked me.
"It was good. Thanks for asking, though," I replied. I don't know why, but whenever he's around me, I can't stop myself from blushing. As if we have some sort of chemistry between us. Suddenly, my heartbeat picked up speed, and I knew the reason. I turned my face only to be sure about my suspicion. Alpha Alex was standing behind me and looking at me dangerously. But he was looking so hot. He was half naked, only wearing a pair of shorts, which I guess was because of the training. I thought he had a muscular body, but never imagined he could be so toned. His eight-pack abs were dragging my attention. I turned away to stop myself from doing something embarrassing.
"Eric, go back to the ground. It's time for training," he commanded. I could feel possessiveness in his voice for me, and he was jealous of Beta Eric.
Eric rushed to the ground, not before saying bye to me. I saw from the corner of my eye that Alpha Alex is sending a death glare to Eric. If only looks could kill, then I guess Eric would have under six feet of ground till now. I find this possessive attitude of Alpha Alex cute. A chuckle left my lips unknowingly, and the next second, he was watching me with amusement. After a few seconds, he also fell to the ground.
All students were gathered around the ground. Some were training, and some were watching. Mom was training two girls how to defend against an attack.
"Let's have a face-off fight," Alpha Alex announced out of the blue. He looked my way, watching my face for any kind of expression, and then he turned to Beta Eric.
"Beta Eric, I challenge you to fight with me," he said in a cold voice.
Everyone gasped at his words, including me. It was known to everyone that Alpha wolves are naturally more powerful than other wolves. How can he challenge someone who is just his beta?
I was watching them standing face to face in the middle of the ground. Both of them looked at me at the same time, and it stuck with me; they were fighting for me.
My mom was also staring at me with a warning look. I think she also guessed the tension among us. Oh no! I am doomed. Why are they fighting for me? And why am I feeling so restless, in fear of seeing them get hurt? What is going on with me?
