Chapter 93 - Testing

Translator: AnubisTL

The first round of saturated suppression successfully disrupted the giant beast's charge and severely damaged its thick armored carapace.

Jieming was highly satisfied with the results and expressed his astonishment at the creature's resilience:

"Impressive! To withstand so many attacks and only suffer superficial wounds... its physical toughness is exceptional, even among first-tier creatures."

"Awooo..."

With a low whimper, the giant beast tucked its tail between its legs and turned to flee. But Jieming had already extended a finger, aiming at it.

"Now... let's try a first-tier wizard-level energy bullet."

The other gems on his wrist retracted their light and returned to the bracelet, leaving only one hovering outside, its radiance growing increasingly intense.

"Bang!"

With Jieming's onomatopoeic shout, a light bullet shot forth at a speed imperceptible to the naked eye. In an instant, it pierced through the giant beast without resistance and continued onward into the dense forest beyond.

To onlookers, the light bullet seemed to pass through the creature like a phantom, leaving no visible damage.

But from Jieming's perspective, a massive hole at least a meter in diameter had appeared in the beast's body, allowing him to see straight through to the scenery behind it.

The massive wound didn't bleed because the surrounding flesh had been carbonized into a charred crust.

This was due to the terrifying heat carried by the high-speed energy bullet, which cauterized the wound as it pierced through.

"Impressive," Jieming murmured, exceptionally pleased with the energy bullet's destructive power. "Its actual performance far exceeds what I observed in the training grounds."

Boom!

A violent explosion erupted deep within the jungle several kilometers away. The shockwave surged through the dense foliage, reaching Jieming's position as a sudden gust of wind.

This was the natural disintegration of the energy bullet upon reaching its maximum range.

Jieming had recently advanced to the foundation establishment realm. Though his wizard rank remained third-tier wizard apprentice, his enhanced mental power and precise control now allowed him to independently craft first-tier wizard-level rune-imbued magical artifacts.

For convenience, the destructive power of his offensive rune-imbued magical artifact energy bullets could be adjusted at will.

At its lowest setting, the impact force was equivalent to a mere bullet. At its maximum, as demonstrated just now, each energy bullet possessed extreme penetrating power, and its explosive force rivaled that of a heavy artillery shell, capable of leveling a structure the size of a soccer field.

Even Jieming himself wasn't sure how terrifying the destructive power would be if he unleashed all the offensive rune-imbued magical artifacts stored within his internal space.

"Too bad my internal space is still too small," he thought with a hint of regret. "It's sufficient for daily use, but if it were just a bit larger, I could fit an entire production line inside!"

The wizard world naturally possessed automated production systems. By inputting raw materials and relevant data, these systems could continuously manufacture and produce whatever was needed.

While such systems were typically the domain of sixth-tier wizards and above, commanding a hefty price, Jieming's current wealth made acquiring one relatively feasible.

The true bottleneck to his development lay in the limited capacity of his internal space.

A space the size of an entire classroom might sound substantial, but cramming in a production line along with its raw materials proved exceedingly difficult.

Otherwise, during combat, he could simultaneously unleash his full firepower while manufacturing new rune-imbued magical artifacts within his internal space to replenish his reserves.

"Foundation establishment realm is out of the question now," he mused. "I'll just have to look forward to the higher realms..."

Jieming glanced back. The spot where the apprentice had been standing was now empty.

"Ran off pretty quick. Couldn't even say thank you," he muttered, though his hands moved swiftly.

"Glimmering Eye, activate."

Jieming opened his palm, and a faint, almost imperceptible light flashed across his hand. The scouting rune-imbued magical artifact he had just adjusted—the Glimmering Eye—activated.

These Glimmering Eyes were the latest scouting rune-imbued magical artifacts, developed through years of research and modification of the original scouting eyes.

Compared to the scouting eyes, the Glimmering Eyes had evolved into smaller, more discreet entities. They appeared no larger than a grain of sand, with exceptionally low energy signatures.

They could easily attach to any corner, making them nearly undetectable to the naked eye or conventional spells.

Most importantly, these devices were no longer limited by the traditional range of a wizard's mental power.

Jieming had also refined them using techniques similar to those used for refining magic artifacts.

Their special rune structures allowed them to maintain stable detection within a 100-kilometer radius even when detached from Jieming's control. Through the refined connection, they could transmit information directly to him.

Jieming casually dropped a Glimmering Eye at his current location, carefully sensed the energy fluctuations, and nodded in satisfaction.

"Fortunately, the energy in this plane is quite active. These fluctuations shouldn't attract attention. With self-absorption and energy circulation, it should maintain its 'validity' for about three days."

He reached out and summoned a more "primitive" scouting eye into his palm.

Invisible ripples spread outward, and all the information processed through the Five Aggregates Rainbow Transformation Mirror was projected in real-time into Jieming's spirit, forming a three-dimensional tactical map of the battlefield.

This map clearly displayed the surrounding vegetation, terrain, underground energy flows, biological auras in the air, and even subtle mana fluctuations and flows of Faith Power.

After scanning the environment and confirming there were no immediate threats, Jieming saw no reason to linger.

"Alright, time to find those two."

He retrieved a communication witchcraft device, infused it with a bit of mental power, and waited quietly.

Soon, the device emitted a faint glow, and Amy's delighted voice crackled through:

"Jieming? Thank goodness! You're alright too!"

This trial was unlike the previous ones, which had been well-prepared and guaranteed. The workshop hadn't even provided them with any equipment for this one.

Judging by the situation so far, their only hope of leaving this plane after entering it would likely be to find the wizards' stronghold.

Moreover, this plane was nothing like the Greyrock Realm they had experienced before. The native creatures of the Elosia Plane possessed terrifyingly high upper limits of strength. Even Jieming, despite his confidence, dared not act too arrogantly.

Therefore, even Jieming would actively seek out "teammates."

Before departing, Jieming had made an agreement with Amy and Victor: upon entering the plane, they would immediately contact each other and explore the plane as a small team.
