Chapter 102 - Chapter 102: Victory

"Bellsprout, use Vine Whip and bind it!"

"Pidgey, blow those Poison Sting needles away!"

Icarus, who reacted a beat later, immediately issued his commands according to the situation on the battlefield.

"Ding! Ding! Ding!"

A large number of Poison Sting needles fired by the Arbok were partly blocked by Geodude's Rock Throw, while the rest were blown aside by Pidgey's strong wind.

"Well done, Icarus!" Ashu praised immediately. "Butterfree, use Silver Wind to attack Arbok!"

Originally, Ashu had planned to let Butterfree interfere, but after seeing the poison needles neutralized, he quickly changed tactics.

---

"Arbo!"

At that moment, Arbok had just dodged Beedrill's Twinneedle and was about to launch another Poison Sting when it suddenly felt a sharp pain in its lower body.

It turned out that Raticate had bitten into its tail, its sharp fangs piercing deeply into the snake's body.

"Swish! Swish!"

Arbok thrashed wildly, trying to shake Raticate off.

"Sprout!"

But before it could do so, Bellsprout's Vine Whip wrapped tightly around it, the thorny vines binding the snake firmly.

"Raticate!"

Raticate released its bite and quickly jumped back.

"Whoosh—!"

At that moment, Butterfree's Silver Wind swept in.

"Arbo!"

A ruthless glint flashed in Arbok's eyes. It endured the Silver Wind head-on while spitting out a large amount of Acid Spray.

"Sizzle—crack!"

The vines that had been weakened by the wind were instantly corroded and snapped apart by the acid.

"Arbo!"

Breaking free, Arbok glanced at the enemies surrounding it and immediately turned to escape.

But the moment it turned around, it saw Beedrill and Geodude blocking the path behind it.

Aze had already cut off its retreat.

---

"Arbo!"

Enraged, Arbok suddenly used Glare, spreading the intimidating snake patterns on its body and locking its eyes on the enemies.

"Buzz…"

Beedrill instinctively backed up in fear.

But Geodude, who had been acting as the team's shield, remained completely unfazed.

"Geodude, use Stomp!" Aze shouted.

"Geodude!"

Geodude slammed both fists onto the ground.

"Boom!"

The ground shook violently, and the ground-type energy surged toward Arbok, making its body stiff and dizzy.

"Arbo…"

Its vision blurred.

"Now it's over!" Ashu shouted.

"Raticate, Quick Attack + Hyper Fang!"

"Beedrill, Pursuit!"

"Bellsprout, bind it again with Vine Whip!"

All three trainers immediately realized that the dizzy Arbok was finished.

---

"Thrust!"

Beedrill's spear, coated with dark energy, pierced into Arbok's body first.

"Arbo—!"

The intense pain snapped Arbok back to its senses. In desperation, it spat out a barrage of Poison Sting, hoping to take an enemy down with it.

"Clang! Clang! Clang!"

But Geodude, fully aware of its role as the shield, instantly stepped forward and blocked the attack.

"Geodude!"

The poison needles struck its rocky body, causing only minor pain.

At the same time, Bellsprout's Vine Whip wrapped tightly around Arbok once again.

"Raticate!"

Closing in rapidly, Raticate's eyes gleamed with excitement.

A completely immobilized prey was the perfect target for Hyper Fang.

"Crunch!"

With a powerful leap, Raticate bit down fiercely, its sharp teeth piercing straight through Arbok's head.

"Arbo—!"

With one final scream, Arbok collapsed lifelessly onto the ground.

---

"That was easy!"

After confirming the enemy was dead, the three trainers began working together to process Arbok's corpse.

"Icarus, your control was excellent," Ashu said while cutting the snake's skin with his dagger. "After a few more hunts together, we'll kill these snakes faster and faster."

"Yeah," Aze added while handling the internal organs. "Your powder tactic really works. Even though it only slowed Arbok, that opportunity made the fight much easier."

"I'm flattered," Icarus replied while collecting the fangs and poison sac. "The main credit goes to Ashu's Raticate for its attack power, and Geodude's Stomp created the perfect opening."

His words were tactful and polite.

---

After finishing the cleanup, Aze glanced at the buried bones and leftover organs with a sigh.

"What a pity… If someone would buy a fully evolved Arbok, we'd make a fortune."

"Aze, stop daydreaming," Ashu said while struggling with the snake skin. "Taming a fully evolved Arbok at the ordinary level is extremely difficult. It has low potential and usually carries hidden injuries. No one wants them."

"Now hurry up and help me cut the snake skin!"

"Alright, alright," Aze muttered as he went to help.

"I'll help too," Icarus said, picking up another section of snake skin.

With the three of them working together, the valuable materials were quickly sorted.

The parts required for the mission were placed in Ashu's backpack, while the rest went into Icarus's bag.

---

Afterward, they searched the nearby area and found fourteen Pecha Berries, which were placed in Aze's backpack.

After dismantling the Arbok, their total profit was about 3 Pokédollars (ten-thousand unit equivalent).

The snake skin alone was worth 1 Pokédollar, while the ordinary snake meat sold for about 200 Pokédollars per kilogram. After processing, this Arbok yielded over 100 kilograms of meat.

Combined with the poison sac and fangs, the total value exceeded 40,000 Pokédollars.

However, the poison sac and fangs had to be submitted for the Alliance mission.

The mission reward was 3 Pokédollars, meaning those two parts alone were worth 50,000 Pokédollars.

According to their agreement, Icarus received 10%, giving him around 10,000 Pokédollars, not counting the Alliance merit points.

---

As expected… teamwork really is powerful.

I easily earned 10,000 Pokédollars and 10 merit points.

Although Icarus kept a calm expression, he was secretly delighted.

After all, in order to join the team smoothly, he had told them he was 19 years old, not a newly promoted trainer. Acting too inexperienced would expose him.

---

"Icarus," Ashu said after everything was packed up, "have Pidgey scout ahead again."

"Let's see if that Ekans is still around. After such a big battle, it's probably gone."

"Alright."

"Pidgey, go search for Arbok or Ekans!"

"Pidgey!"

With a flap of its wings, Pidgey flew toward the area where the Ekans had been spotted earlier.

When it arrived…

The Ekans was already gone.

So Pidgey began searching the surrounding area instead.
