Seeing Tony collapse, Chen Ye quickly pulled out a Senzu Bean and stuffed it into his mouth.
Miles stood nearby, his face filled with panic and confusion. He looked at Tony, unsure whether he should call the police.
"Sir, should we call the police?" Miles asked, his voice trembling.
Chen Ye didn't answer, his eyes fixed on Tony.
The next moment, Tony's body twitched. His complexion instantly improved, and the hole in his chest was healed by the Senzu Bean.
Chen Ye was still worried. Even if Tony recovered, would he still be able to become Iron Man if the Mini Arc Reactor was destroyed?
As soon as Tony recovered, he cried out, "Pepper! Where's Pepper?"
Ignoring his own condition and Chen Ye's presence, Tony only cared about Pepper's safety, fearing his uncle might kill her too.
Chen Ye, understanding the situation, quickly dialed Pepper's number.
A few seconds later, Pepper answered.
"Ms. Pepper, hello. I'm Chen Ye."
Before Chen Ye could finish speaking, Tony snatched the phone away.
"Pepper, are you okay?" Tony asked directly.
Hearing Tony's voice on the other end, Pepper responded with equal urgency, "Tony, are you okay? I'm fine. I'm on my way to apprehend Obadiah with the agents."
"I found evidence on his computer this morning that proves he framed you!"
Upon learning that Pepper was going to confront Obadiah, Tony urgently said, "Don't go! You're no match for him. Get back here immediately." Tony knew that Obadiah had already completed his War Machine armor, and ordinary people stood no chance against him.
"But we're already downstairs," Pepper said, confused. To her, Obadiah was just an ordinary person, and with the federal agents present, she felt perfectly safe.
"Just do as I say! Leave now! I'm coming to you right away!" Tony hung up the phone, sprang to his feet, and rushed out the door. His only thought was to reach Pepper and ensure her safety.
Left behind were Chen Ye and Miles, staring at each other in silence.
Miles was truly at a loss for words, having been kept in the dark the entire time and forced to follow Chen Ye blindly.
Chen Ye had no choice but to follow, not expecting that his casual visit to chat with Tony would coincide with his uncle stealing the Mini Arc Reactor to build his Iron Monger suit.
If Chen Ye's guess was correct, Iron Man would soon be battling the Iron Monger.
"Seriously, is this how you treat the person who saved your life?" Chen Ye grumbled in the car.
But he also understood Tony's desperation to save Pepper.
"Sorry, I need to find Pepper right now," Tony said perfunctorily, speeding down the road.
His focus was entirely on driving, racing along the highway.
His heart was filled with anxiety and tension. He couldn't let Pepper take that risk; he had to reach her as soon as possible.
"I know. Just marry Pepper already. Honestly, if I'd known this was going to happen, I wouldn't have come. I even wasted a Senzu Bean," Chen Ye said helplessly.
Miles, who had been silent in the back seat, felt utterly exasperated. They had spent nearly the entire day in the car, and the truth was, Tony had a genuine emergency. They would have to wait until it was resolved before discussing her.
Seeming to notice Miles's frustration, Chen Ye quickly reassured him, "It's okay, it's okay. Once this is sorted out, I'll talk to Tony about her."
Tony seemed to notice that the two of them clearly had something to ask him, but he couldn't focus on that right now. All he wanted was to get to Pepper as quickly as possible.
"Why are you driving instead of flying over in your Iron Man suit? Wouldn't that be faster?" Chen Ye asked curiously. This didn't match the plot he remembered. Wasn't Tony supposed to have flown over in his Iron Man suit at this point?
"Do you think I don't want to? Do you think I haven't noticed my chest wound has healed? How else am I supposed to power the Mini Arc Reactor? I have to build a new one," Tony said with a helpless tone.
Tony would have loved to put on his suit right now, but his chest wound had already healed. He could only wait until this was over to upgrade his suit.
And after this was over, he absolutely had to ask Chen Ye what kind of magical thing he used to heal him. This guy always pulled out something astonishing out of nowhere.
"Then how did you beat your uncle without your suit?" Chen Ye pressed, frowning. Tony didn't answer, just looked at Chen Ye.
This made Chen Ye's heart pound. He quickly blurted out, "Don't look at me like that! Focus on driving!"
In that instant, Chen Ye understood Tony's thought process.
"So I'm working for you for free, huh? Not only did I save your life, but I also have to clean up your messes. Do you know how expensive that Senzu Bean I fed you was? There were only four in the whole world, and you ate one!"
"I owe you one," Tony said solemnly.
Chen Ye didn't respond, as he also needed Tony's help.
Meanwhile, deep within the laboratory, Obadiah, holding the Mini Arc Reactor he had snatched from Tony, his eyes gleaming with ambitious fire.
He slowly approached his War Machine, carefully installing the precious Mini Arc Reactor into its core.
At the same time, Pepper and a team of agents arrived at Obadiah's laboratory building.
Pepper had initially wanted to follow Tony's advice and wait for his arrival before acting.
But the impatient agents couldn't wait and stormed straight toward the laboratory building.
The agents used small explosives to blast open the laboratory's security door. The massive explosion startled Obadiah inside.
Peeking through the door crack, he saw intruders and immediately began donning his War Machine armor.
This confrontation seemed inevitable. Obadiah activated his War Machine, its engines roaring through the empty laboratory.
Through the mech's screen, he observed the intruders, his eyes filled with cold resolve.
Pepper and the agents cautiously entered the laboratory, only to find a pile of blueprints and the now-vanished War Machine.
"He might have already left," Pepper whispered.
Now, she finally understood Tony's warning and could only silently pray that Obadiah had indeed departed.
The agents, weapons raised, scoured every corner of the laboratory, searching for any trace of Obadiah.
Their faces were tense, their weapons seemingly their only source of comfort.
An invisible pressure filled the air, as if danger could descend at any moment.
Suddenly, a massive figure plummeted from the ceiling, landing near Pepper.
Her eyes widened in terror, and she barely had time to scream before turning and fleeing in her high heels.
Her heart pounded like a drum, each step trembling.
The battle within the laboratory erupted instantly.
The agents' bullets and explosives left deep scars on the machine, yet Obadiah's War Machine remained completely unharmed, as if the attacks had no effect whatsoever.
Under the iron fist of the mech, the agents fell one by one, their blood and mangled limbs scattering across the ground.
Only Pepper managed to escape the building. Just as she thought she was safe and was about to call Tony, a mech burst from the ground behind her.
Pepper turned to see the mech, screaming in terror as she stumbled backward.
Obadiah, controlling the mech, raised his right hand and said coldly to Pepper, "You're no longer useful."
Pepper's heart sank. She realized she had nowhere left to run.
Facing the war machine controlled by Obadiah, she felt like a tiny ant, about to be crushed at any moment.
In that moment of despair, she deeply regretted not listening to Tony's advice. She wondered if he would grieve for her if she died.
Just as she was about to give up, a voice rang out from the sky: "Stan!!"
Obadiah looked up to see Chen Ye using magnetic force to drag Tony and his car through the air.
