Meanwhile, Hawkeye and Natasha had withdrawn from Hell's Kitchen and knocked on the door of Nick Fury's office.
They found Fury giving orders to Coulson.
When Hawkeye and Natasha entered, both Fury and Coulson paused their conversation.
Coulson, ever tactful, excused himself from the office, leaving Hawkeye, Natasha, and Fury to discuss the matter.
Hawkeye and Natasha reported all the information and details from Hell's Kitchen, including Chen Ye's performance and his transformation into Kamen Rider Eternal.
Fury rubbed his temples, listening intently, then slowly asked, "Even Magneto couldn't handle Chen Ye?"
"And what's this Kamen Rider Eternal? Why does Chen Ye control such technology, and we know nothing about it?"
"Weren't you monitoring Chen Ye all along? Didn't you notice him contacting anyone?"
"This complex mecha couldn't have been designed by Chen Ye alone."
He fired off a barrage of questions, trying to pierce the veil of mystery surrounding Chen Ye.
Chen Ye's threat grew increasingly palpable to Nick Fury, like an invisible ghost, leaving him with a frustrating sense of helplessness.
This feeling of being out of control was something Nick Fury detested more than anything.
In response to the Director's question, Natasha paused before replying, "We've been monitoring Chen Ye constantly and haven't found any suspicious individuals contacting him. The only anomaly was yesterday when he brought a young boy back with him."
"Unless we can infiltrate his inner circle, we'll never uncover these secrets."
"But Hawkeye and I both know Chen Ye. And ordinary agents wouldn't be able to blend in with his team."
"Chen Ye seems to have a way of seeing through people's hearts. He has too many abilities." Natasha said, her expression grave.
"Have you identified the boy?" Black Egghead asked.
"We did. His name is Miles, just a boy from a poor family. We estimate Chen Ye took him in for a day out of pity," Hawkeye replied quickly. He didn't realize he was investigating the Miles of this universe.
Black Egghead rapped heavily on the table, then pulled out the latest report and handed it to Natasha and Hawkeye.
"Read it and tell me what you think," Black Egghead said, his gaze darting between the two. His tone was serious.
Hawkeye picked up the report and quickly scanned it.
When he saw the name "Lord of Hell Chen Ye," a smirk played on his lips. "Lord of Hell Chen Ye—that's quite the title. Much more imposing than my 'Hawkeye' moniker."
He tried to lighten the mood, but his joke fell flat.
He glanced left and right, but neither Natasha nor Black Egghead responded. Only the Director's one good eye remained fixed on him.
Hawkeye's heart skipped a beat. He quickly straightened up and said, "Director, I think this is a good thing. If Chen Ye takes Kingpin's place, he could bring much-needed stability to the volatile Hell's Kitchen."
"Besides, Chen Ye seems to despise illegal activities like drug trafficking. He's even funded children's education out of his own pocket."
Hawkeye genuinely believed this. But before he could finish, Black Egghead slammed his fist on the table and stood up.
"You're all too naive!" Black Egghead's voice was tinged with anger.
"Chen Ye's threat is far greater than Kingpin's. Kingpin was just an ordinary man before; we didn't eliminate him because he was useful and we could control him."
"Now that Chen Ye is taking over Hell's Kitchen, who can stop him? Will it become his territory, or the Federal Government's?"
"But Chen Ye is doing things for the good of the ordinary people. Besides, if he really wanted to do something, I don't think we have the power to stop him," Natasha countered.
After all, Natasha had witnessed Chen Ye's endless tricks firsthand. From initially believing he had limited power to later seeing his endless tricks, she suspected he might still have more tricks up his sleeve.
"Letting him do whatever he wants based on his own will—look how many people died in Hell's Kitchen yesterday," Black Egghead continued, his tone filled with accusation and dissatisfaction.
"If Chen Ye truly believed these people were wrong, he should have come to the Federal Government instead of taking matters into his own hands."
"He's completely disregarding the Federal Government."
Black Egghead's cold voice echoed in the air, carrying intense hostility and resentment.
"That's why S.H.I.E.L.D. needs the power to counter someone like Chen Ye," Black Egghead said, activating a screen that displayed the words "Avengers" in large letters.
"The Avengers?!" Hawkeye and Natasha exclaimed in surprise.
Black Egghead then showed them a series of photos of superheroes, including the Hulk, Tony Stark as Iron Man, Professor X in his wheelchair, a man with stretchy arms, and Captain America.
These heroes, each possessing extraordinary abilities, would undoubtedly be a crucial force in combating crime and chaos.
Even Natasha and Hawkeye saw their own photos.
Black Egghead turned to them and said, "That's right, you two are also part of the plan. You're among the world's most experienced and capable agents. I need you to persuade these superheroes to join our alliance."
Hawkeye stared at Captain America's photo, his eyes wide with shock. He pointed at the image, his voice filled with disbelief. "If I'm not mistaken, that's Captain America. Didn't he die?"
"How could he join this plan? Has S.H.I.E.L.D. developed a way to resurrect the dead? Or have they found someone else to play Captain America?"
Hawkeye couldn't believe the Director would include a dead man in the plan. Captain America's story was universally known; every federal citizen knew him and knew he had died in the end.
Nick Fury flashed a mysterious smile. "Don't worry about that. While you were monitoring Chen Ye, we recovered Captain America from a frozen site in the Arctic."
"He's already recovering. I'll take you to meet him later," Fury continued, a hint of pride in his voice.
Hawkeye's face contorted in disbelief. He gaped, speechless for a long moment. "This is simply incredible! Captain America is alive again! I can't believe it!"
"So, the priority now is to assemble these people!" Fury said gravely.
"Understood!" Hawkeye and Black Widow answered in unison, leaving without delay.
Watching them go, Fury stood in his office, gazing out the window, his thoughts drifting into the distance. He murmured to himself, "I hope we don't have to call Danvers back."
