There was no use beating about the bush with Mia. It was easier to get the conversation started as soon as possible. "A loan?! Are you fucking with me?! What is with today and audacious people walking into my office? Bella, you owe me more than enough already! Get out!" he wailed. "But, I promise to pay back. I will dance for ten more years if I have to" Mia said desperately. "No, you are not even the highest girl on demand." He said, spitefully.
"Except, you are willing to do something else. You know Bella, all of your past and future debt could be cleared, and all you have to do is just one small thing. Well, not small, because I consider myself to be a big guy. But you get it. Do you not Bella?" he said as he winked at her. Mia was disgusted. "I came here to ask for a loan. And not to be turned into your who. I thought you would consider my past and at least do it for old times sake. I have never stolen from you or done anything bad to you or this club" Mia said.
"And that is because you did not get the chance to bitch! Did you really thing that you would leave this place one day? Mia you will dance here for the rest of your life before you are able to pay of such a debt that you owe me. Heck, from the look of things, even your little sister will begin dancing for me as well," he said. That enraged her. Mia never wanted that life for her sister. She knew what it entailed and she made sure to work hard so her sister would never have to go through what she did in that club.
She fought back tears as she imagined he sister working in the degrading place called a strip club that she worked in. She looked around the room, terrible memories came rushing back. Memories that she had tried to suppress. Memories that she tried to convince herself were now in the past. But in reality, it hunted her every single day. She sometimes had regrets… what if she never took a loan from the messy man whom she thought was a regular business owner?
What would her life become if she had never accepted the card that he handed to her that day when she was desperate and thought that she was ready to take on anything that came her way? Now, in that same way, another man was in front of her door of opportunities, claiming that he had a job for her. That he was willing to clear her debt, but at what cost? She asked herself as she hurriedly left Big Pa's office before the tears came streaming down in front of him.
She could not cry in front of him, it would make her seem even more weak than she thought she appeared. "What will you do now, Mia?" She muttered in a broken voice to herself as she headed for Cam's changing area. Their shift was over already, it was time to go home. "Accept my offer. I am not like that man," a voice said behind her. Startled by the voice behind her that acknowledged the sudden presence of someone behind her, Mia shrieked in surprise.
"What- what are you doing here? I mean, how are you here? I thought I left you in the hospital. Did you follow me back here? Are you following me around?" She asked, all the questions rolling our of her tongue in one breath. Alexander stood where he was, not wanting to startle her more by moving closer than he already was, "Yes," he said simply, no added words, nothing. Mia figured that he had decided to respond to just the last question that she had asked him. His answer did not make her heart beat slow down.
"You need to be more careful, Malyshka. It is so easy to follow you and you do not even notice." He said to her as he took short strides to her. He was attracted to her scent. Even his human form found her alluring. His heart would do this thing where it felt like it skipped a beat and would follow up by beating twice to balance out the skipped beat. Alexander was trying not to be obsessive about the young, woman that stood in front of him. "What? Do you know how crazy that is to say to a person whom you barely know?" She asked him.
"If only you know how familiar our souls are," his wolf said to him. He smirked at the statement. But Mia who had only seen him move from an observant gaze to a smirk was seeing him in a different light… like a crazy person. Was he bipolar? Mia thought to herself as her face instinctively frowned in focus as she observed his face and body language. Mia became distracted by his beautiful body. She noticed that he had on different clothes from the last time that she had seen him.
It was still the same coat but he had on a different dress shirt that still hugged his muscles, and a pair of black pants that was at least a shade darker than the last ones he had on. She did not know how black could be darker, but she was sure it did. Alexander on the other hand, watched her watch him, he liked it. He liked looking her as she gawked at him. "I think our mate is impressed by what she sees," his prideful wolf said to him. Mia was now saying something, but Alexander was not paying attention to her words.
He knew that she was saying things to him, and he knew that he would be able to recall each word that she said when he wanted to. But at that moment, he was far too lost in memorising each motion her face and lips moved in as she spoke. He did not know her as a normal human boy and girl should but he already had a soft spot for her. And in that moment, he knew that she was his only weakness. As they combined to stand in the dim hallway, Big Pa was plotting… he did not like how audacious Mia still was even after all the years of trying to tear her down. He needed to do something. And from the look of things, he needed to move fast.
