Chapter 56 - Chapter 56: The Generous Professor Son

"This... isn't this going a bit too far!"

Madam Pomfrey stood frozen as she watched the young wizards being pursued by a swarm of Acromantulas. She wasn't the only one; the students who hadn't signed up and the professors who were previously in the dark were equally stunned.

Although they hadn't followed the group, they were all watching the entire training process through magical telescopes. Those who had been regretting not signing up earlier were now feeling a profound sense of relief. If the "pre-class warm-up" was this terrifying, wouldn't the actual lesson content be even more horrific?

On second thought, being an ordinary wizard didn't seem so bad after all.

...

Around eight o'clock, driven by the relentless pursuit of the giant spiders, the young wizards finally finished their lap and returned to the starting point. It proved that the physical potential of wizards was quite significant; it just required a little "nudge" to release it.

"Alright, the warm-up is over!"

Goku tossed the massive log off his back and flashed an innocent smile at the gasping students. "Since you haven't done this kind of training before, today's warm-up was relatively simple. Once you get used to it, we'll slowly increase the difficulty."

He was telling the truth. Compared to the training he and Krillin had endured under Master Roshi, this was child's play. Back then, their milk delivery run was much longer, and they didn't climb ten-meter hills—they climbed thousand-meter mountains. They crossed actual cliffs, waterfalls, and deserts in extreme environments.

However, Dumbledore had advised him that this was the absolute limit the students could handle for now. To reach the Turtle School standard, they needed to progress step by step.

"This is called simple?"

Lying on the grass, feeling as though their bodies no longer belonged to them, the students looked at Goku's innocent smile. To them, he looked more terrifying than any demon or Dark Wizard. They used to think Professor Snape was the scariest person in school, but Professor Son had eclipsed him in a single morning.

"Now, for the house points," Goku began, consulting Dumbledore. "First place for the first-years: Ron Weasley. Twenty points to Gryffindor! First place for the second-years: Alyssa Bates. Twenty points to Hufflepuff! For the third-years..."

"He's so generous!"

The students receiving treatment from Madam Pomfrey widened their eyes. They hadn't expected such a massive reward before the lesson had even officially started. In normal classes, professors usually handed out two or three points at a time. But in Ki Magic? Twenty points in one go!

For students obsessed with the House Cup and House pride, this was a lethal temptation. Hermione's eyes were already glowing with a competitive green light. Ron, meanwhile, couldn't believe his luck.

He was deathly afraid of spiders—ever since his brother Fred turned his teddy bear into a giant spider when he was three. He hadn't intended to win; he had simply been so terrified of the Acromantulas that he exploded with adrenaline and sprinted for his life.

"I am definitely sticking with this class!" Ron vowed internally, basked in the envious stares of his peers. The other students who had been wavering also found their resolve renewed by the promise of points.

...

"Let's eat!" Dumbledore waved a hand, and house-elves immediately served a lavish breakfast onto the lawn. The famished students began to wolf down the food, only to realize that their eating speed was nothing compared to their new professor's.

"He's a monster..." many thought. They were half-dead from carrying milk crates, while Professor Son had carried a literal tree trunk as if it were a feather. And in the time it took them to eat a piece of toast, Goku had already finished breakfast for ten people and was still going.

Once breakfast ended, Goku had everyone sit cross-legged on the grass to begin the true lecture on ki.

"Ki is the power that lives inside everyone..." Just as he had taught Hagrid, Goku recited the wisdom of Grandpa Roshi while slowly condensing a glowing orb of energy between his palms. Seeing the energy manifest for real, the students' interest reached a new peak.

"When you have ki, not only do your strength and speed increase, but you can also cast spells without a wand." Goku pointed a finger at a stray twig on the grass. "Wingardium Leviosa!"

The twig slowly drifted into the air.

"Wandless magic! It's really wandless magic!" The excitement was palpable. While they didn't care much about physical strength, the allure of wandless casting—a skill usually reserved for the most elite wizards—was irresistible.

"Professor, how long will it take for us to develop ki?" Hermione asked, her hand high in the air.

Goku thought back to the lesson plan. "It depends on your training. The better your physical condition, the faster you'll get it. If you want to get it within a year, you'll need to train with me for two hours every morning at 6:00 AM, in addition to our Saturday classes."

"So that's why we did that exercise this morning... it wasn't just to mess with us," the students realized.

"But two hours every morning sounds so painful."

"What are you afraid of? Madam Pomfrey is right there; it's not like we'll stay injured."

Thinking of Dumbledore's speech, the power of Goku's blast, and the prospect of wandless magic, many students began to seriously consider the early morning sessions. Dumbledore nodded to himself. He knew that one day a week wasn't enough to reach the physical limit; only daily extreme training would make it possible.

He would do everything to help them. Beyond Madam Pomfrey's healing, he already had Snape researching potions to boost constitution and stamina. How many would actually stick to it? Only time would tell.
