Rimuru's village and it's major forces were in a very important meeting. When Souei got a transmission from one of his body doubles.
"What's wrong?" Rimuru sensing the change in attitude asked directly.
"One of the body doubles I had scouting the area has had an encounter."
"Ok."
"How should I respond lord Rimuru?"
"Who is it? I've already had my fill of weirdos from today because of Gabiru. I don't want anymore surprises."
"Well I wouldn't call them a weirdo but it is a strange encounter…you see, it's a Dryad."
Souei's confirmation of the individual sent gasp through the room, Rigurd was the first to respond, "But it's been several decades since we've seen a dryad. Why would one suddenly appear now?"
Rimuru however, being the easily seduced type, was very eager to meet her, "Go ahead and bring her in."
Suddenly an ethereal force entered the room above the table, a force that Rimuru immediately recognized, "The fog."
"Greetings ruler of monsters and all those loyal to him. I am a dryad from the forest of Jura, my name is Treyni, it's nice to meet you."
" My name is Rimuru Tempest, likewise. Why have you come here?"
"I have come here on the request of my god."
"Your god?" Rimuru already knew who she was probably refering to but was surprised she announced it so recklessly.
"Yes, in the name of Pneuma, we need you to defeat the orc lord." Treyni got off the table very elegantly.
" You want me to defeat the orc lord?"
" Uh huh."
Benimaru stepped in, " That's quite the audacious request for someone who just dropped in, I hope you don't mind answering a few questions. Why us when there are stronger races than hobgoblins."
" Yes that's true and if it weren't for the fact that the ogre village was destroyed, I might have gone there."
Her words causing shock to all the ogres.
" But even so I am here not on my request but the request of my god. The god of chaos Pneuma declares that Rimuru will be the one to defeat the orc lord."
Now that was something that completely ruptured all sorts of calm.
" M-me, but why me!?" Rimuru tried to act oblivious to not reveal the relationship to Simon.
" Rimuru, let your hand out." Rimuru was stunned by the sudden request but did so anyway.
She pointed to the underside of his palm and what was revealed there was a tattoo of a triquetra.
Rimuru exclaimed that he didn't know what this was not where it came from.
" Don't worry Rimuru, this is the mark of Pneuma. Having this mark indicates that you have been chosen by Pneuma." Treyni took off her gloves and showed the same mark on her hand, " See."
The brands, now in close proximity, began glowing a bright blue.
" Now, Ruler of monsters, be honest about your relationship with Pneuma."
————————————————
Under the pressure of the dryad, everyone sat down as Rimuru was forced to tell them about his encounter with Pneuma.
The sudden reveal had made those around him revere him evens more. A chosen of Pneuma that they were working under.
Feeling embarrassed from the sudden praise, Rimuru wanted to change the subject, "Treyni, you said that I needed to defeat the orc lord, does that mean that the orc lord does exist?"
"Very much so, we have already detected their path is coming from the marshlands, in the lizard man's territory."
"Why does it have to be me that defeats it?"
Treyni paused for a moment and then came back to reality, " I don't know."
Everyone was flabbergasted at the very lax answer.
"If you want to know then why don't you ask him yourself." Treyni pointed upwards, "he's most likely lying listening to us?"
A voice suddenly sounded from oblivion, "Jeez Treyni and here I thought we were friends."
Everyone was startled by this but what happened next made everyone almost feint. A small foggy abberietion formed with childish shadowy silhouette in it. The only ones not surprised by this was Treyni and Rimuru.
" Hello Rimuru, you seem to have been very busy. I leave you for a week and you're already mass evolving ogres into Kijin."
Rimuru puffed out his chest, "Impressed? They were quite the investment of magicules."
"…Oh, you thought I was complimenting you? I guess that if you think you deserve applause than you get one. You did well Rimuru!"
Although he technically did praise Rimuru, the previous words felt like a stab to the chest.
But then Treyni came in to ask about something that's been bugging her, "Wait a second, there's something that I want to know! Where have you been for the past week."
"I got bored and decided to build some new toys."
When my words fell, Treyni looked visibly frightened, " What did you make?"
"Oh nothing major-"
"Everything you make is major now tell me what you made!"
"I might've sorta accidentally… completed the irontomb project."
The cup of tea that Treyni was drinking from was dropped and smashed on the floor, "You completed… irontomb?"
Before anything else could I happen, I snapped my fingers and the histerical Treyni was teleported out of there.
"Jeez, I'm gonna have to apologize to her later."
"Could you tell us what is going on with this…irontomb?" Rimuru asked while looking at my foggy form.
"That is none of your concern. What is is the orc lord."
————————————————
I eventually got Treyni back to explain everything for me because I was to up my own ass to do so.
Mentioning the potential arrival of a orc disaster had made them all shake, and yet the God Infront of them just waved it off, "Ah, don't worry, I'll believe you'll all annihilate them."
"What makes you so sure?" Rimuru was worried about this sudden confidence.
"Because I've already analysed the skills and raw strength of everyone in this room. The army of orcs I believe you're actually over prepared for. As for the orc lord or orc disaster, Rimuru's Predator should be enough to take it out."
"Well I'll be on my very way." I said to the table and disappeared into space.
