Chapter 33 - Chapter 34: The Warmth of a Stranger’s Hand

Suho didn't waste a single second.

The moment he reached the hospital, he scooped Shini into his arms once again and sprinted toward the emergency ward.

His face was drenched in sweat, lungs burning with every desperate breath.

"Doctor! I need a doctor! Now!"

Suho's voice thundered through the hospital corridors, a raw cry filled with a desperation no one had ever heard from him before.

Nurses and doctors rushed out with a stretcher.

Suho laid Shini on the bed with agonizing care.

As the doctors wheeled her inside for examination, he paced the hallway, every second stretching his anxiety to its limit.

After what felt like an eternity, a doctor finally emerged.

"There's no need to panic," the doctor said, trying to reassure him.

"She lost consciousness due to the impact on her head.

We've given her a sedative so she can rest without feeling the pain.

She should wake up by morning."

Suho let out a long, shaky breath, relief mingling with lingering fear.

He crept into Shini's room, the only sound the rhythmic 'beep' of the monitor beside her bed.

He studied her peaceful face, replaying the memory of her sacrifice—the way she had dived in front of that truck just for him.

He sat down beside her bed.

With trembling hands, he took her soft, cold hand into his own, stroking it gently as if trying to transfer his own warmth to her.

"Why did you do it?" he whispered, voice low, choked with emotion.

Even in her unconscious state, Shini had left a mark on his heart that nothing could erase.

For the first time, Suho realized just how fragile life could be—and how strong the courage of a single soul could make another feel alive.

He stayed there, silently vowing that he would protect her, no matter what it took.
