Six days had passed, now is December 31st, Yuki had been out killing magical beasts and unknown existences that slowly rippled into the universe.
He was drenched in blood from head to toe as he walked around. He checked his phone for news from Lillian, and had gotten a notification. His phone buzzed with messages of information.
As he walked through the city, he sighed while in deep thought.
The universe had started to shake violently as rifts begin to open up through reality.
Lillian's message had stated:
"The Cataclysm has begun. Danger will be arriving. Destruction, hostile, existence-threatening beings and death will arrive. I'm sure you can handle it. Right, Yuki?"
Yuki read the message then replied:
"Yes."
That singular response held confidence in his tone. The sky became dark even though it was broad daylight out. Clouds forms in the sky as it blocks out sunlight from all over the world.
Lillian had read the message and had responded.
"Good. We don't usually get cloudy days, especially ones that covers the entire planet. So someone is making everywhere cloudy through manipulating the weather."
Yuki read the message emotionlessly and sighed deeply before responding to the message.
"Got it, Lillian."
He turned off his phone then turned around, remembering Lucian and Amelia's body that were buried.
Before he ran to the danger, he had an idea. Yuki had started heading over to Nytherra for Lucian's and Amelia's grave.
Lillian had placed a tracker on each member of the Eidolon Syndicate and watched Yuki's movements.
Lillian: Why is he heading over to Nytherra...?
She murmured as he arrived at their grave. Yuki immediately dug out Lucian's dead body from the ground.
Yuki placed his hand above Lucian's body and started absorbing the mana. This now includes inheriting his abilities. He then used his own mana to split the abilities to make a perfect duplicate of it and had taken the copy of it.
Once that happens, he gave back Lucian's ability.
Yuki, immediately vanished in thin air, moving to Star City at high speeds. The winds had started hitting his face as he kept running. When he arrived, he started jumping and running onto rooftops.
He ran from roof to roof with the wind hitting his face while moving through the modern landscape of Star City.
At that moment, different regions of Star City was being destroyed by other beings. He glanced over and started going over to that direction, but he immediately sensed some other beings with the divine energy.
When he looked over to his right, he noticed a beam that is made out of nihilistic energy is already an inch away from him.
Yuki had swung the Divine Extermination katana which causes the beam to vanish completely.
???: Well well well... that's fun. You can negate the very energy of divinity. How do you do it?
The being smiled as Yuki glanced at him with a dead and emotionless expression.
Yuki: ...
His silence was evidence to him that he refused to speak.
Chiharu: If you won't talk, then fine. Name's Chiharu Tsuhiko. If you won't speak about your ability then I'll force it out of ya!
He said with a confident smile as he charged towards Yuki, but that moment, his body was sliced in half with a lightning fast horizontal slash to the body.
The slash wound had appeared on Chiharu's body as his top half collapsed onto the floor with a blood splatter.
It was a very swift attack while Yuki left with an emotionless expression. He started sprinting off to hunt down some more people. There were other mages who were in other regions of the large city.
There was a star polygon in the center of Star City which had 8 different points that each represents the Heavenly Foundations of existence.
Yuki was going through the city, but was suddenly sent flying down to the center of the city. As he fell, he immediately landed, but due to the impact and speed of his fall, it had built up dust around Yuki.
When the dust cleared up, his sword was pinned on the ground as he stood there then glanced upwards into the sky.
A female that hid her face with a hood appeared as she landed on the rooftop on her foot. She wore very dark cloaks and boots as she pulled down her hood.
Angela: Ah... Yuki Fujita, pleasure to be meetin' ya!
Her accent grabbed his attention as he stood there emotionless and exhausted.
Yuki: An Italian-American accent? How strange... she must be from a northern land like New York... that's definitely the only option I could think of.
Angela: I'm Angela! Ya can call me Angel, Yuki.
Her smile was malicious as her aura leaked from her body. Yuki noticed the malicious intent immediately and sighs.
Yuki: You wield Nihilistic Energy too huh...? This fight will be interesting...
Angela: Yeah, ya not the only one.
Yuki had gotten into position, getting ready as Angela noticed his stance and with an immediate wave of her hand, the sky, space, time, and distance had slowly distorted within her hands.
The distortion had wrapped around and closed in on Yuki as his eyes widened a bit, then in that moment, he was sent into a dimension of limitless Nihility energy and molecules.
A dimension of pure malicious intent and a conceptless place that has no building foundations except for the nihilistic energy itself.
Yuki: What the? There's nothing here... worlds ceases to exist.. in other words...
Angela had appeared behind Yuki then summoned out very destructive and nihilistic orbs that erases everything it touches.
He then held his katana in front of him, blocking the orbs but his katana was erased right in front of him.
Yuki: Damn!
Angela: Welcome to my dimension. The Zero Dimension.
Yuki: the Zero Dimension....?
Angela nodded with a malicious smile on her face.
Angela: it's my pocket dimension that does nothing but erase. Infinity no longer exist and distance isn't a thing!
She raised her arms up as Yuki had immediately noticed another thing. She's actually insane.
He charged towards her then goes for a kick to her sides, but his foot slips through. His eyes opened widely as she grabbed his foot then immediately erased his soul.
Angela: Let's see how quick ya regeneration is! I'm curious about ya immortality!
His soul was immediately erased. No seconds was needed and hadn't took its time to erase someone's soul. It was like he never had a soul.
Angela: Heh, I expected that much. Ya know, there's a system that governs all existence. Did ya know that?
Yuki: A system...?
Angela: Yes, it is known as the Divine Order System. It's a system made out of absolute divinity that determines the threat of one.
Yuki listened in closely as Angela chuckled to herself.
Angela: It had appeared to be that... Miya Katagari takes number one. The most dangerous and the most seen threat being, with you in second.
He was completely sure as he suddenly vanished through the conceptless dimension and had punched Angela.
She had blocked the attack with her left forearm, but the impact caused her to get sent flying through the infinite dimension, but the shockwave caused it to collapse completely.
Yuki: I guess... if I'm such a big threat and only came in second, maybe because I haven't reached my full potential yet..
Angela nodded with a smirk as she felt no pain out of that attack.
Angela: Let me ask ya this question before we continue. What's goin' through ya mind hm?
Yuki stared her down with emptiness in his eyes and sighed deeply.
Yuki: Nothing... so let me ask you this. What does it truly mean to be happy in your perspective...? What is the significance and its impact on the human mind? What is... this concept called happiness...?
His voice filled with emptiness and lacked emotions as his questions sent shivers down Angela's spine. Her smirk was then wiped off from her face.
Angela: To answer ya first question, I believe bein' happy means that ya get to live out ya life and find peace within your view on reality. The second question... let's see.
She had stayed there as she took a moment to think about it. Yuki listened carefully, trying to find meaning.
Angela: Bein' happy is healthy to the mind of themselves regardless if ya have immortality or not, and to answer ya third question... I have no clue if I'm bein' honest.
Her answers were someone who had been a mother for years just to lose her children to something or to death in a way of stupidity.
Yuki had stayed completely silent as his brain shut off completely. He was slowly becoming an empty shell. A hollowed out vessel. He hadn't expected those answers from somebody who is trying to kill him.
Yuki sighed with deep sorrow and exhaustion.
Angela: I can see the pain, exhaustion, and tiredness in ya eyes..
Angela was the only one who could possibly understood Yuki as they both stayed floating above ground across from each other. Her eyes had life and hope, but also malice while Yuki's eyes had nothing but emptiness and deadness.
