Chapter 126 - You speak in riddles

The entity's golden chasm of a gaze expanded, the liquid light within its irises rippling like an ocean of molten metal. 

The massive shadowy hand hovering near my cheek didn't retreat. Instead, the dark vapor of its fingers curled slightly, trailing down the line of my throat without ever physically touching my pale skin, yet leaving a trail of absolute, freezing numbness in its wake.

​A low sound vibrated through the glass floor—a sound that, if it were human, would have been a dark, mocking chuckle.

​"What am I?" the voice echoed inside my skull, booming with a weight that forced my knees to stiffen just to maintain my posture. "You ask the question as if you are a stranger to this void, little spark. As if the very marrow of your bones hasn't been screaming for this cold since the day you crawled back into that mortal shell."
