After staying overnight at the Studio of the Bizarre, Geno prepared to continue trying to solve the Radiant Porcelain problem.
First, he purchased some Radiant Porcelain stones from individual sellers and express-shipped them back to New Eridu via Pegasus Transport.
Although Geno would have preferred to use his own courier service, their influence unfortunately wasn't large enough to reach Weifeidi yet.
After this, Geno adjusted his mindset and arrived at Huijing-Meike's station in Chenghuiping. He planned to talk to Huijing-Meike directly.
Then... he was naturally rejected.
That arrogant supervisor had looked kind and benevolent when he first received Geno.
But when he heard that Geno wanted to purchase Radiant Porcelain from Huijing-Meike, his face turned several shades darker than the bottom of a ten-year-old burnt pot, and he directly kicked Geno out.
Huijing-Meike wasn't a place where just any small-time nobody could come and rub elbows. Some people needed to know their place and keep their hands off things they shouldn't touch.
Geno sighed; Huijing-Meike was even harder to deal with than he thought.
Let alone negotiating, the other party's attitude was already bordering on mockery.
Just as Geno was preparing to leave, a voice suddenly called out to him.
"Hello, sir. I am the person in charge of Huijing-Meike, Damian Blackwood."
"The person in charge of Huijing-Meike?"
Geno blinked. Wasn't he just kicked out by their supervisor?
Why did the person in charge come down personally? Was he hallucinating?
"One hundred percent genuine. However, I suggest we find another place to talk; it might not be very convenient here."
Damian said this while taking a meaningful glance at his company's signboard, an unknown gleam hidden in his eyes.
Subsequently, the two arrived at the second floor of Yincha Xian. Unlike the Chuishui Xuan where he had been with Lucia before, this time they booked a private room directly.
"Apologies, please allow me to introduce myself again. I am Damian Blackwood, the general manager of the TOPS consortium's subsidiary development enterprise, Huijing-Meike, in the Chenghuiping region."
Damian once again introduced his position and name, and this was exactly what Geno couldn't understand.
"Mr. Damian, do you need something from me? I was just 'invited' out by your people."
Geno placed a heavy emphasis on the word 'invited'. Seeing this, Damian put on a look of deep trepidation.
"Regarding that, I apologize to you on behalf of my colleague. I hope you can forgive his rude behavior. Of course, whether you forgive him or not has no direct correlation to me personally."
Seeing Damian cleanly extract himself from the situation while pretending to be the good guy apologizing, Geno became even more confused about the motive behind his actions.
"Mr. Damian, whatever it is you want with me, I think you can just speak plainly."
Seeing that Geno was getting slightly impatient, Damian finally spoke up with a thoughtful look.
"I know your purpose for coming to Huijing-Meike is to secure a stable supply chain for Radiant Porcelain, but I must tell you, this is impossible. Huijing-Meike will not allow any behavior that damages the enterprise's interests. Even if you were to meet the highest person in charge of Weifeidi, they would not agree to your request."
Damian was stating a fact, but this wasn't what Geno wanted to hear. He believed Damian hadn't gone through such a huge detour to find him just to spout this unhelpful nonsense.
"Of course, this is merely Huijing-Meike's own decision and has no connection to me personally."
Damian once again cleanly detached himself from the matter.
"So, can you help me solve the Radiant Porcelain supply problem?"
Geno's eyes lit up. If Damian could help him solve the Radiant Porcelain issue, he wouldn't mind letting the man reap some benefits from him. After all, if Twiggy's research succeeded, the resulting profits would be an astronomical figure.
But the question remained: why would Damian help him like this? Just to skim some benefits? And at the risk of facing liquidation by Huijing-Meike?
"No, no, no, of course not. I don't have that much capability. I'm just a neutral figure in the workplace who sticks to his original intentions and tries to please everyone."
Sticking to his original intentions? Trying to please everyone? Could these two phrases even be used to describe the same person?
Seeing that Geno still had doubts, Damian tapped the table and continued speaking with an expression that said everything was under control.
"Mr. Geno, I've investigated your background. A rookie game designer who came to New Eridu from an unknown place and earned his first pot of gold with a blockbuster game. What kind of motive would make you choose to step into the field of Radiant Porcelain..."
"You investigated me?"
Damian was only halfway through his sentence when he suddenly felt a chill wash over his body, making all the hairs on his skin stand on end.
And the main culprit behind his reaction was naturally the man sitting opposite him—Geno, who was glaring at him with a face as cold as frost.
Looking at the man in front of him who was harmless just a moment ago but now seemed like a savage beast, Damian subconsciously swallowed hard.
"Don't be rash, Mr. Geno. I merely made some small preparations to ensure that the cooperation between us can proceed smoothly."
Damian wiped his forehead, which had already begun to sweat. A trace of shock flashed across his face, but he hid it well.
And Geno caught the key point in his words.
"Cooperation?"
"Exactly, cooperation. While I can't directly provide you with a complete Radiant Porcelain supply chain, I can provide you with a clear path forward."
Hearing this, Geno slowly retracted his oppressive aura.
Damian let out a sigh of relief while secretly muttering in his heart that none of the guys that old geezer took a liking to were simple. A game producer? That was probably just a front.
Damian's investigation into Geno was just an accident, but it was exactly this accident that allowed him to see a new path—a path that could take him one step further.
"Although Huijing-Meike controls nearly eighty percent of the Radiant Porcelain development in Weifeidi, there is still twenty percent that does not fall under Huijing-Meike's jurisdiction. Do you catch my drift?"
"You mean, those individual sellers?"
"No, no, of course not. Although there are quite a few small enterprises selling some Radiant Porcelain products, their supply chains are not well-established, and their quality isn't exactly good. What I'm talking about is a real enterprise with massive reserves of Radiant Porcelain."
Damian once again returned to that look of having everything under control. Like a venomous snake flicking its tongue, he guided Geno bit by bit into the trap he had prepared in advance.
"The Timefield family... I wonder if Mr. Geno has heard of them?"
"Timefield?"
The Timefield family was a prestigious and renowned noble family famous for their research into Ether science. The anti-Ether Corruption potions currently circulating widely on the market were the handiwork of the Timefield family.
