----

Lynn walked alone through the woods at the top of the mountain.

Sunlight filtered through the gaps in the branches, casting mottled shadows on the ground. A few bird calls drifted from afar, mixing with the rustle of the wind blowing through the treetops; it didn't sound like a competition, but rather like an outing.

He truly didn't feel any sense of urgency at all.

After walking a few steps, he saw a small thing clinging to the trunk of an old oak tree—about the size of a palm, looking like a blend of twigs and bark, gripping the bark tightly with two long, thin claws and staring at him.

A Bowtruckle.

Lynn stopped and locked eyes with the little thing for two seconds.

The Bowtruckle opened its mouth, revealing two rows of sharp, thin teeth, and hissed threateningly at him.

Lynn reached out and, with lightning speed, plucked it right off the tree.

Bowtruckle: ???

Before it could even resist, it was stuffed into Lynn's robe pocket.

A burst of angry scratching and screeching came from inside the pocket.

Lynn patted the pocket. "Don't make a fuss. I'll let you go when I get out."

The commotion in the pocket died down slightly, but he could still feel the little fellow scratching hard at the lining of his robe with its claws.

Lynn didn't mind and continued walking forward.

As he walked, he confirmed his orientation, occasionally looking up through the canopy at the sun's position and then down at the direction the moss was growing on the ground.

After walking for a long time, the woods finally came to an end.

Lynn came to a halt; beneath his feet was the edge of a cliff.

He took two steps forward and peered down.

The cliff face was nearly vertical, covered in marks of weathering and erosion, with some stubborn little shrubs extending their branches from the rock crevices.

The bottom of the cliff was obscured by a dense canopy, making it impossible to see the details clearly, though the sound of flowing stream water could be faintly heard.

Lynn's gaze searched the cliff face.

Those caves he had seen on the map earlier—they should be in this area.

He narrowed his eyes, carefully scanning every fold and shadow of the rock wall.

Suddenly, a glint of light caught his attention.

It was light reflected from somewhere in the middle of the cliff face—very faint, like sunlight hitting something and being refracted.

That spot happened to be hidden by a cluster of shrubs, making it impossible to see what was behind them, but the existence of that light was a sign in itself.

Without a second thought, Lynn jumped straight down.

"What is Lynn doing!!!"

Ludo Bagman's scream echoed throughout the Quidditch Pitch, the sound so sharp it almost pierced everyone's eardrums.

"He jumped straight down! He's lost his mind!!!"

The entire audience gasped in unison, countless hands instinctively covering their eyes, yet unable to resist peeking through the gaps between their fingers.

The height of that cliff—it was at least seventy or eighty meters!

No, more than that!

From the screen, it looked like a vertical freefall!

Several young girls from the lower years had already closed their eyes with a scream.

However—

On the giant screen, Lynn's figure was plummeting rapidly.

The wind howled, and the hem of his robes flapped loudly.

Then, just at the moment he was about to hit the ground—

His body suddenly became weightless.

It wasn't deceleration or cushioning; his entire body suddenly became like a feather, landing lightly on the ground.

The moment his feet touched the earth, he even had the composure to tidy his collar, which had been ruffled by the wind.

The entire venue fell into a deathly silence.

At the head table, Dumbledore picked up his teacup and took a sip, his expression calm.

Meanwhile, Madame Maxime, Karkaroff and the other Headmasters and Headmistresses each looked as if they had seen a ghost, their eyes wide with shock.

They had seen it very clearly.

Lynn hadn't chanted a spell, hadn't waved his wand, and showed no signs of casting magic.

He had just—floated down.

"How... how did he do that?" Karkaroff's voice trembled slightly.

Dumbledore set down his teacup and smiled faintly without speaking.

Ludo stood at the commentary booth, mouth agape, unable to make a sound for a long time.

Finally, he gave a dry cough and decided to forcefully change the subject.

"Uh... it seems Mr. Lynn's progress is still the fastest!" His voice regained its energy. "Let's take a look at the situation of the other champions—"

The image on the giant screen switched.

Cedric, Harry, and Roger had already met up and were studying footprints on the ground in a forest clearing. Fleur was leading Chloe and Sophie along the stream, occasionally stopping to gather berries by the roadside. Amina stood on a fallen giant tree looking into the distance, with Nema and Wanjiru guarding below the tree. Ryan, Thomas, and Jordan were arguing about which direction to go.

Krum was still alone, his pace steady and his expression indifferent, as if he had already locked onto his target. Louis followed behind him, still holding that small notebook. Katya... Katya was still looking around, occasionally glancing back over his shoulder as if worried something might be following him.

Daniel, Louis, and Nicolas had finally met up; the three were rapidly communicating in Portuguese, their expressions looking very excited—but judging from their wild gestures, they hadn't reached a consensus yet.

Ludo breathed a sigh of relief and was about to continue his commentary—

"Watch out!!!"

His voice rose again, so sharp it almost cracked.

The audience's gaze once again focused in unison on Lynn's screen.

A transparent shield suddenly appeared over Lynn's head—the glow of a Bubble-Head Charm.

And at the mouth of the cave not far ahead of him, two massive figures were slowly walking out.

The camera zoomed in.

They were two Mountain Trolls.

Not ordinary Trolls—Mountain Trolls were taller than Forest Trolls, with pale gray skin covered in lumps and scars, each dragging a massive club stained with dried blood. With every step they took, the ground seemed to vibrate slightly.

They were clearly the guards of this cave.

On the big screen, the two Trolls also spotted Lynn.

They stopped, their small, muddy eyes staring intently at this intruder, and let out roars from their throats.

Another collective gasp sounded from the stands.

"Even Mountain Trolls are here..." Lynn's voice came from the screen. "Then there must be a golden egg inside."

The moment his voice fell—

He moved.

His wand pointed directly at the club in the hand of one of the Trolls.

That club, which was large enough to crush a person's head with a single blow, instantly transformed in mid-air—turning into a thick, long chain!

Under Lynn's control, one end of the chain shot out like a living snake, instantly wrapping around the Troll's entire body, from shoulders to torso to legs, binding it tightly!

The Troll let out a roar of surprise and fury, struggling desperately, but the chain didn't budge—the more it struggled, the tighter the chain constricted.

And the other end of the chain didn't stop extending.

As if it had a mind of its own, it slithered rapidly across the ground and wrapped around the other Troll's ankle!

Before that Troll could react to what was happening, its ankle was already caught by the chain. It instinctively stepped back—

Bang!

The chain tightened, pulling it entirely to the ground!

Immediately following—

Boom!

The two Trolls crashed to the ground like two small mountains, kicking up clouds of dust and gravel!

The entire venue was silent.

Ludo's mouth was open in a perfect "O" shape, not closing for a long time.

On the big screen, Lynn walked toward the two Trolls wrapped up completely, his pace as leisurely as if he were taking a stroll through his own backyard.

He came to a halt in front of them.

The two Trolls were still struggling desperately, letting out angry roars, but the more they struggled, the tighter the chains became, already biting deep into their thick skin.

Lynn waved his wand.

On the side of the chain closest to the Trolls' skin, a row of thin needles suddenly grew out.

The needles pierced into the Trolls' skin.

The Trolls' struggling became more violent, but the needles clearly didn't cause intense pain—they were just angry, not yet realizing what was happening.

Lynn reached out and touched the chain.

A faint glow flickered at his fingertips.

It was the paralytic toxin he had just generated—extracted from the glands in his body, guided by his magic, absorbed by the chain, and slowly injected into the Trolls' bodies through those thin needles.

The process was very fast.

So fast that the audience only saw Lynn touch the chain, and then the two Trolls suddenly went quiet.

Their struggling grew weaker, their roars turned into feeble gasps, their eyelids became heavier, and finally—they closed their eyes completely.

They were still alive, but they no longer had the strength to move even a finger.

Lynn nodded with satisfaction.

Then he crouched down and began to collect materials.

Troll skin—could be used to make protective gear; although a bit rough, the defense was top-notch.

Troll hair—though there wasn't much of it, it could be used to make certain Potions.

Troll teeth—good stuff. Ground into powder, they were an ingredient in some powerful Potions.

And that chain—he could change it back now, but he was too lazy; besides, the chain was quite useful.

He muttered as he collected: "Troll bile seems to be quite valuable too, but extracting bile is too much trouble... forget it, I'll leave it for the people behind."

Before the big screen, the entire audience watched this scene in silence.

A champion, less than an hour after the start of the competition, had taken down two Mountain Trolls with his bare hands and then leisurely started looting.

Ludo opened his mouth, then opened it again, finally squeezing out a sentence:

"...Is he in a competition, or is he stocking up on inventory?"

In the stands, Edgar covered his face.

Because he heard someone nearby shouting, "As expected of the champion from Azkaban—even Trolls are no match for him!"

...

On the big screen, Lynn had finished collecting materials, stood up, patted the dust off his hands, and walked toward the depths of the cave.

In his pocket, the Bowtruckle had witnessed everything from start to finish; it was now curled into a ball, no longer daring to scratch at his robes.

Things were just as Lynn had expected; there was indeed a golden egg in the cave guarded by these two Trolls, but there was only one. Having two Trolls guard a single golden egg was a bit annoying.

Lynn muttered something about them being stingy as he leisurely walked out of the cave, even giving the two Trolls a kick as he reached the entrance out of spite.

Ludo pretended not to see it.

"Congratulations to Lynn! He has successfully obtained the first golden egg of this event. His progress is far in the lead!"

A burst of warm applause instantly rang out from the Hogwarts stands, mixed with shouts of "Lynn is awesome!" and the like.

Judging by the voice, it was probably Edgar shouting.
