The next moment, the headless body smashed into the ground with an obnoxious thud while the decapitated heads bounced off almost comically, but by that time, Blanid had dealt with another opponent in three slashes.
Horizontal, ripping through the murky gray ephemeral blades and cutting off the head. Downward diagonal one, getting rid of the arm by the shoulder, chopping through the ribcage, and then the elbow. Finally, another horizontal one that separated the legs from the remains of the torso. That one attack ended up flowing seamlessly into a horizontal swing that extinguished a fireball and blocked the murky gray ephemeral blade of another opponent while Polaris's beams of light broke through the defense of the third one. The spell charred the side of the corrupted human's sword and burned off its ear as it failed to defend the same way Blanid did, but still managed to somewhat dodge and save his life.
"...!"
"GU-GHUAH…!"
Blanid had to hurriedly move her leg out of the way of yet another murky gray ephemeral blade that was aimed at her foot in an attempt to pin her down, but instead of losing balance, the disguised girl used the momentum to kick at the one-eared opponent's stomach, knocking the wind out of its lungs and allowing Polaris to have a clear shot.
"Nraao!"
The next beam of light did not miss at all, and the head and torso of Blanid's former senior got swallowed by it and burnt into ash! The result was gruesome indeed, two parts of two-inch strips of flesh remaining of the torso connecting an arm with a leg that dropped to the ground, not bleeding because of the cauterizing properties of the spell.
The only ones getting second thoughts and demoralized were Blanid's opponents, who had no other choice but to face the truth they've attempted to escape since training together.
Blanid was leagues above them.
Just on another level.
The immense power they sold their souls for, despite being true, turned out to be insufficient, as even after breaking through their human limits, they couldn't compare to the commoner they grew to loathe!
It wasn't supposed to be like that!
That's not what they were told by the human who introduced them to the deofol!
Lies! They believed his empty lies!
"GAAAAAGH!?"
Another scream echoed over the academy grounds, although that one came from the balcony and not the battlefield below it…
"WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR!? COME HELP US! YOU WANT THIS COMMONER DEAD THE MOST! DON'T YOU!? OLIVER BERDON! GET OVER HERE!"
As if the scream was a breaking point, one of the two remaining opponents howled frantically while desperately defending itself from the onslaught of Blanid's attacks.
"FGHUGH…!"
It wasn't allowed the chance to call for help anymore, as a pure-white ephemeral blade slipped past its defense and stabbed deeply into its side, shaking it enough for five more blades to dismember it in an instant as Blanid already rushed past it to finish off the only remaining one.
*BOOOOOOOOOOM*
"?!"
"AHAHA~! FINALLY! ENSHROUD!"
But right then and there, the third floor of the boys' dormitory blew up, the blast threw Blanid off course, making her fifth opponent let out a maniacal laughter. Then it stabbed at the disguised girl's chest with all three of its murky gray ephemeral blades coated with a darkness spell for as much piercing power as possible!
"NRAAAO!"
The golden bear cub had to focus on shielding its master from the main brunt of the explosion and the falling debris, so it could only growl out a warning while adding an enhancing spell to its master's body.
"HAAA!"
Blanid bared her teeth and growled while focusing solely on countering the thrust! She twisted her body as much as she could while feeding Cladbolg's shadow slightly less mana than the first time she tested it!
In dire situations, but keeping a clear mind… which honestly even Blanid herself was baffled by.
And…
*SHING*
She masę Caladbolg's shadow sing!
A single clear horizontal slash sliced cleanly through the sword, spells, and flesh of the last opponent, followed by a shockwave that pushed back the dust and debris falling from the destroyed floor.
"That… that sword… is… cheating…"
*thump*
The last opponent mumbled before keeling over and hitting the ground. Only upon impact, its weapon and body fell apart, revealing a layer of ice coating the insides of the cut that had momentarily kept them together when it was standing upright.
"...haaa… haaaa… what… what happened here though…?"
Blanid relaxed slightly, and her muscles trembled uncontrollably from all the strain they were put through as she breathed out and faced the site of the explosion.
Since the third floor blew up and the roof collapsed on it, it became impossible to spot the survivors… or the deceased… amongst the debris at a glance from Blanid's spot.
"Gaah…! Stupid bitch!"
"!!!!"
Blanid intended to get up there, but ended up stopping as someone emerged from under the rubble at the very edge of the wall, groaning and spitting to the side while cautiously touching their face.
The disguised girl had a problem with discerning the identity of the survivor just from his dusty profile, but there were a couple of details that made her immediately put up her sword at the ready and proceed with caution.
