Chapter 41 - Chapter 41 – Eyes Beyond the Sky

The crack did not close.

It remained—

Spreading slowly across the sky like a scar that refused to heal.

Leo stood beneath it.

Silent.

Watching.

The energy he had absorbed still lingered inside him.

Different from before.

Heavier.

Older.

"…It's changing you," Luna said softly.

Leo didn't deny it.

"…I know."

Kai rubbed his head.

"…Can we just go back to normal enemies?"

Ryu glanced at the sky.

"…That won't happen anymore."

Milan adjusted his glasses.

"…We've crossed that point."

Silence followed.

Because all of them felt it—

This wasn't the beginning of something.

This was the continuation of something ancient.

---

A pulse spread through the air.

Stronger than before.

Leo's eyes narrowed instantly.

"…Again."

The crack in the sky glowed faintly.

Then—

Multiple smaller fractures appeared around it.

"…That's not good," Kai whispered.

"…Not even a little."

From each fracture—

Something looked back.

Not bodies.

Not forms.

Eyes.

Countless eyes.

Watching.

Observing.

Waiting.

Luna froze.

"…They're aware of us…"

Milan's voice dropped.

"…No…"

"…They're aware of him."

All eyes—

Locked onto Leo.

---

A whisper filled the world.

Not one voice.

Many.

"…Fragment…"

"…Bearer…"

"…Key…"

Leo didn't move.

But his aura reacted.

Golden light rising—

Mixed with crimson shadows.

"…You're all the same," Leo said quietly.

"…Pieces of something broken."

The whispers paused.

Then—

They laughed.

Not loud.

Not clear.

But enough to shake the air itself.

"…Arrogant…"

"…Incomplete…"

"…Return…"

---

The fractures widened.

One of the eyes disappeared.

Then—

A presence descended.

Not like before.

Not a fragment.

Something greater.

The space in front of them twisted violently.

Then—

A figure appeared.

Humanoid.

Stable.

But wrong.

Its body was formed from shifting patterns of light and void.

Its face calm—

Too calm.

And its eyes—

Held galaxies within them.

Kai stepped back slowly.

"…Okay…"

"…That's definitely worse."

Ryu tightened his stance.

"…This one is different."

Milan nodded.

"…It's not unstable like the last one."

"…It's complete."

---

The being looked at Leo.

Not with hunger.

Not with urgency.

With interest.

"…So this is the chosen vessel…" it said.

Its voice was clear.

Controlled.

Ancient.

Leo stepped forward slightly.

"…You're not like the others."

The being tilted its head.

"…Of course not."

A pause.

"…I am not a fragment."

Silence.

"…Then what are you?" Luna asked carefully.

The being smiled faintly.

"…A keeper."

"…One who remained whole."

The air grew heavier instantly.

Milan's eyes widened.

"…A complete Ancient God…"

The being corrected him calmly.

"…Not God."

"…Not yet."

---

Leo's aura flared slightly.

"…Why are you here?"

The being's gaze sharpened.

"…To observe."

A pause.

"…And to decide."

Kai blinked.

"…Decide what?"

The being didn't look at him.

"…Whether you are worthy."

---

Before anyone could react—

It moved.

Not fast.

Instant.

It appeared directly in front of Leo.

No distortion.

No warning.

Just there.

Leo's eyes widened slightly—

But he didn't step back.

The being raised its hand.

And placed a single finger on Leo's forehead.

Everything froze.

---

Inside Leo's mind—

The void opened again.

But this time—

It wasn't empty.

The Ancient God was there.

And now—

Another presence.

The Keeper.

"…You dare enter this space?" the Ancient God's voice echoed.

The Keeper stood calmly.

"…I only observe."

Leo appeared between them.

"…What is this?"

The Keeper looked at him.

"…Your truth."

---

The void shifted violently.

The Ancient God's presence grew heavier.

"…You should not interfere," it said.

The Keeper's expression didn't change.

"…You are sealed."

"…Your influence is already limited."

A pause.

"…I am ensuring balance."

---

Leo looked between them.

"…Balance?"

The Keeper nodded.

"…If you fully awaken…"

"…You either become him…"

"…Or something worse."

Silence.

Leo clenched his fists.

"…And you're here to stop that?"

The Keeper answered calmly.

"…If necessary."

---

The void trembled.

The Ancient God laughed.

"…You think you can stop what is inevitable?"

The Keeper didn't respond.

Instead—

It turned to Leo.

"…Show me."

"…Your will."

---

The space around them exploded with energy.

Pressure beyond anything before.

Leo's body shook.

But he didn't fall.

His aura rose.

Gold.

Crimson.

Clashing.

Merging.

"…I am not him," Leo said.

The void reacted.

"…And I won't be controlled."

The Keeper watched silently.

"…And yet…"

"…You carry his power."

Leo stepped forward.

"…Then I'll redefine it."

---

The energy around him stabilized.

Not wild.

Not chaotic.

Controlled.

Balanced.

For the first time—

Both forces inside him moved as one.

The void went silent.

Even the Ancient God paused.

---

The Keeper's eyes sharpened slightly.

"…Interesting."

A pause.

"…You're not rejecting it…"

"…You're reshaping it."

Leo's voice was steady.

"…It's mine now."

---

Silence.

Then—

The Keeper stepped back.

"…Very well."

The pressure disappeared instantly.

---

Back in reality—

Leo staggered slightly.

Luna caught him.

"…Leo!"

He steadied himself.

"…I'm fine."

The Keeper stood a few steps away.

Watching.

---

"…You pass for now," it said.

Kai blinked.

"…For now??"

The Keeper ignored him.

"…But others will not be so patient."

It looked at the sky.

Where the cracks continued to spread.

"…They are coming."

---

Leo stepped forward.

"…Then I'll face them."

The Keeper looked at him one last time.

"…Grow stronger."

A pause.

"…Or you will be erased."

---

Its body dissolved into light.

Gone.

---

Silence returned.

But it wasn't calm.

Not anymore.

Leo looked at the sky again.

At the countless cracks.

At the eyes still watching.

His voice was quiet—

But unshaken.

"…Let them come."

Far beyond reality—

The Ancient God watched.

Silent.

Waiting.

And for the first time—

Something new appeared in its gaze.

Curiosity.
