Corbin's instincts screamed.
The instant Gilbert's massive body came hurtling toward him, he reacted. His feet pushed off the fractured ground as he twisted sharply to the side, barely evading the incoming mass. Gilbert crashed past him like a falling monument, the impact shattering stone and sending debris flying in every direction.
The force alone scraped against Corbin's robes, nearly dragging him off balance. But he did not stop moving. As his body steadied, his eyes snapped forward.

For a fraction of a second, the demon remained in recoil from his previous strikes, his massive frame settling, his muscles coiling once more for the next assault.
