Lilith
The forest had gone completely silent. My heart was racing. Was this the fate of an Alpha? Why was I being attacked at every instance?
The scouts had already spread out slightly, trying to locate the source of the scent that had been trailing us.
I remained still in the center of the formation, my senses stretched wide.
"Where?" I asked quietly.
The scout pointed toward the dense tree line to our right.
"There."
Almost immediately, the bushes rustled violently, and then a figure stumbled out of the shadows. In an instant, Nala slammed him to the ground while Tala twisted his arm behind his back, forcing him onto his knees. Within seconds, a blade was pressed firmly against his throat.
"Move and you die," Tala said coldly.
The man coughed, clearly winded from running. My warriors tightened their circle around him.
"He is alone," a scout confirmed.
"He's insane," a warrior spat.
