"I'm leaving."
"Take care."
Ayumi silently stared at Kurumi, who was in a daze and almost eating her rice with her nose. It was hard for her to imagine that the usually elegant and sharp-tongued person was acting like a great master who had cultivated for several months, with a transcendent aura, as if she could kick the bucket at any moment.
In such a situation, even if she wanted to ask and show concern, she probably wouldn't get any answers and would likely get beaten up instead.
Moreover, Yuu, who shared a room with Kurumi, didn't seem to be up today, probably playing games or sleeping. She didn't have the guts to enter Kurumi and her room; that would be courting death. So Ayumi could only sigh slightly, grab the umbrella nearby, check it, and then leave. It wasn't raining outside, but today the sun was simply too bright, so bright that she had to tuck two water bags inside her clothes, otherwise, suddenly turning into a mummy would be terrifying.
"What's wrong with you? I really don't get it."
Haruna finished her meal in big gulps before paying attention to other things. The first thing she saw was Kurumi with her transcendent aura, looking like she was about to fall asleep in her bowl.
"Nothing! Just stayed up all night playing games."
Kurumi forced a small smile and replied to Haruna, after all, this was her own doing, and she couldn't blame others. If she hadn't stirred up Yuu's emotions, she wouldn't have been so tired.
"Oh! Go back and sleep a bit more. Don't… don't misunderstand, I'm not concerned about you!"
"Hi! Thank you for your concern, Haruna-chan."
Kurumi smiled and said to the tsundere Haruna. She started to clear the dishes, preparing to take them upstairs, but Haruna stopped her.
"I… I'll do it! You look like you're about to fall over just walking."
The tsundere Haruna said to Kurumi, her words not matching her true feelings, and snatched the dishes from Kurumi's hands. She didn't dare to look into Kurumi's eyes and walked ahead.
"Hehe!"
"What are you laughing at? Let's go."
"Haruna is so cute!"
"N-Nonsense."
And so, Kurumi teased the little loli as she wobbled back to her and Yuu's room.
"Necromancer, you're still playing! It looks fun, I'll play too."
Upon entering the room, Haruna saw Yuu still engrossed in her game. Curious, she walked over to watch and wanted to join in.
"You can play, but wait until Yuu finishes her meal."
Seeing the two about to start, Kurumi stopped them. First, she wanted Yuu to finish the meal she had brought up. Although none of them were ordinary people and wouldn't starve if they didn't eat for a day or two, it was still better to eat something.
"You two play first, I'm going to rest a bit more."
Kurumi, forcing herself to tidy up the remaining chores, spoke to the two little ones who were already engrossed, not caring if they responded or not, and fell asleep on the bed. She was simply too tired last night.
"This is… huh! Did I just sleep for an entire day?"
Kurumi looked at the setting sun outside, then at the alarm clock which showed five o'clock, confirming she had slept the whole day. Shaking her head to chase away the drowsiness, Kurumi stretched. The warm blanket slid down her graceful curves, exceptionally alluring. After briefly tidying her disheveled clothes, Kurumi left the room and headed to the first-floor bathroom. After washing up, she walked towards the living room; everyone should be there waiting for dinner!
"You're awake, San-chan? Just in time for dinner, what good luck."
As soon as she walked in, Haruna spotted her, but the nickname "San-chan" gave Kurumi a strange sense of embarrassment.
"Your body… is it okay?"
Yu looked at Kurumi, holding up her notebook with worried words written on it, which warmed Kurumi's heart.
"Don't worry! I'm fine."
Walking over to Yu and taking a cushion to sit down, Kurumi gently rubbed Yu's little head and said with a smile. Kurumi's complexion had returned to normal, and apart from some faint dark circles under her eyes, there was no trace of her morning fatigue. Seeing this, Yu didn't question further, nodding and waiting patiently for Ayumi to bring out the dishes.
Ayumi, having finished her tasks, saw Kurumi sitting elegantly and came forward to ask about her with concern. Kurumi didn't treat her with her usual sharp tongue, which made Ayumi feel a little unaccustomed, but now, filling her stomach was more important.
"Come out! I can feel your gaze."
As the four happily ate, Kurumi suddenly felt a subtle sense of being watched. She stopped her chopsticks and spoke to the ceiling.
"What's suddenly wrong? There's…"
"I'm sorry, I didn't mean to offend the Elder."
Just as Ayumi was speaking, a strange voice suddenly sounded, making her close her mouth. She looked towards the source of the voice: a tall, ponytailed beautiful girl was sitting apologetically towards Kurumi. The girl's ample chest, which looked like it would burst out of her T-shirt, had a strong presence.
"This is my dish."
As if suddenly sensing a trace of malice, the beautiful girl glared at Ayumi with murderous eyes, waking Ayumi from her reverie.
"Introduce yourself!"
Kurumi helped the other person up and said.
"Hi! My name is Seraphin, a vampire ninja. I've come with a request for Your Highness Hairsaizu."
"Send her away, Kurumi."
"I'm truly sorry, it seems Yu doesn't want to get involved in this mess."
Glancing at the 'ultimate human poison' in front of her, Kurumi said apologetically.
"It's alright, I didn't expect Your Highness Hairsaizu to agree so easily. So, I request to become Your Highness Hairsaizu's servant."
Seraphin looked at Yu with determination and said.
"There's already one servant."
"Then, let me test whether the other person is qualified to be your servant."
At this, Seraphin stared at Kurumi, seemingly thinking that Kurumi, with the highest strength here, was Yu's servant.
"Um, I'm not Yu's servant, actually! This one is."
Seeing Seraphin's misunderstanding, Kurumi pointed at Ayumi and said to Seraphin.
"I'm truly sorry, I absolutely cannot allow such a person to be Your Highness Hairsaizu's servant."
First apologizing to Kurumi, Seraphin then looked at Ayumi with a disgusted expression, as if she had seen 'dung'.
"Such a person? You talk big. I won't give up my position with Sister Yu to you."
"It's servant."
"Yu~! Don't be like that, please? Calling me 'Onee-san' won't kill you."
Saying this, Ayumi whined and rolled on the tatami. Although she was a cute girl, such behavior was completely that of a crazy woman. Kurumi even wanted to step on her a couple of times, but Kurumi didn't move; someone moved for Kurumi.
A green shuriken firmly embedded itself in Ayumi's forehead, instantly splattering blood.
"Ouch~~!"
A pig-like shriek rang out. Luckily, Kurumi had covered Yu's ears beforehand, otherwise that would have been quite upsetting.
"Now, come out."
Seraphin, already at the door, glared at Ayumi with killing intent. Ayumi, having just been hit, quickly got up and followed Seraphin. It was immediately clear who was the attacker and who the attacked, which made Kurumi, who was walking behind holding Yu's hand, couldn't help but sigh, "Ayumi, you really are a masochist."
